Coffee shops are not hot desk work locations.
At the very least these days every coffee shop will always have one person clicking away furiously on their laptop and taking calls every three minutes nursing that one drink and snack that they bought four hours ago!!

adding more context… we’ve been dating for 6 years so long time coming. this is a text from my religious grandmother who has been pushing us to get married for years! she doesn’t like that we live together. she wants me to have a traditional wedding at my aunts house (the aunt is pretty sick). they live 10 hours away and i just went to visit last month. we want to elope, she knows this. i am not pregnant. mildly infuriating both because she wants to decide when and where but also because she jumped to this instead of saying congrats! also we speak often and this was only a text because she’s at church all day on sunday

My family was moving some stuff around in the attic and in the process my old Yasmin doll ended up in the insulation. Maybe she said something to them idk, but my girl didn’t deserve it.

Edit: I have been informed that is not fiberglass!!! Yippie!!! I’m still upset she ended up this situation. Divas deserve better

I have a copper allergy, so generally have to avoid foods high in copper, mushrooms are probably the most common trigger for me (they’re high in copper), and one of the few foods to send me into an immediate anaphylactic reaction. And because of the way copper is removed from the body, it can take 2 weeks before I completely stop randomly breaking out in hives. Being a mom of 3, I don’t have time for that.

I picked up a few family sized frozen dinners for nights when I don’t feel like cooking. Broccoli rice and cheese casserole, a family favourite. I went to go spoon some into my bowl, and saw a greyish-brown thing, weird, then I saw another, and it looked like a mushroom. I grabbed the box and first looked at the front, no mention of mushrooms, then I read the ingredients, didn’t see mushrooms listed, so I read it more closely, mushrooms are a apparently an ingredient in rice.

Crisis averted, but now I have to find something else to eat for dinner. At least that’s more food for the bottomless pits masquerading as my children.

Oh and I still have one more of these in the freezer.

ETA: yes I should have read the label (or looked at the picture) to realise that this contained an allergen I wasn’t expecting. I’m allowed to be infuriated at myself (I’m not mad at HEB), I’m also allowed to be an exhausted mom who made a mistake.

At a mega beaver mascotted gas station. I got an iced tea but grabbed a coffee cup which was the cups under the tea. Same size but they won't sell it to me. Not a safety reason but the cashier doesn't know what to charge me.

She told me to go pour the drink into a fountain cup. Apparently, I poured it into a water cup so she STILL wouldn't sell it to me.

I left and got lunch elsewhere.

The German interregional train provider Deutsche Bahn requires a seat reservation but doesn't allow you to choose your seat on certain treks. My sibling and I start at different stations so we booked separately, and while the seats in the return journey are close, on the first part we have been put into separate carriages.

These seats cannot be changed, I can't book a separate seat reservation, the tickets are non-refundable, and I can't book a first class upgrade for them either. I went to the service centre to ask for help and was told that they can't change the seats either. Apparently the correct way to do it would have been to book the common part together and then an extra ticket for the other part.

Our only option is to ask and hope that either of our seat neighbours is willing to switch.

instead of walking straight towards me they go around the shelf so either I don't know if they're coming to me until the last second, or they go to the other, usually empty register and I have to call them over to mine. dude! I'm right fucking here! why do they do this??

Why do people upload these obviously fake clout chasing videos, wasting food, money and resources?

My son (15) wanted to buy some ice cream so he went to our local corner shop. They had an offer on Ben and Jerry’s ice cream - buy 1, get 1 free. He came home with 1 tub of ice cream. We asked him why he didn’t get the free one and he said “I only wanted one.”

The shop keeper reminded him of the offer and he said no. He knows I like it, he knows his mum likes it and his sister. He could’ve gotten a free one and given it to any one of us, or kept it for himself but no, he just wanted 1 tub. 1 at £6.99 or 2 at £3.50 each.

We know as well that when he’s finished his tub (chocolate fudge brownie if anyone is interested) he’s going to immediately want another one.

edit: to clarify a few things:

He has been to the same shop before and bought ice cream, and taken the free one so he knows all about it.

We wouldn't let him eat an entire tub in 1 go and then immediately eat another one. What I meant was, when the first tub was finished (knowing him, in 3 or 4 sittings) at some point (days/a week) later he would want another one

We had a talk with him about it and explained what we think he should have done and why, he understood. All of us, including him, had a good laugh about it because it was funny. He thought so too but he's still happy with his one tub

To all those people insulting a 15 year old boy with some truly awful comments - you should all be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves. This was meant to be a post that would provide a bit of amusement over a kid's daft decision, not a bloody witch hunt inciting harm on a teenager. I hope none of you have kids and if you do, enjoy it when they go non-contact with you.
