I'm slightly vexed how some people at work approach the pharmacy
instead of walking straight towards me they go around the shelf so either I don't know if they're coming to me until the last second, or they go to the other, usually empty register and I have to call them over to mine. dude! I'm right fucking here! why do they do this??

u/Paramedic229635 15h ago
I don't like people, so if I saw someone browsing the shelves on the normal route, I'd go around to avoid them. Other than that they might just not have seen you.

u/IrrelevantManatee 15h ago
I do that at my pharmacy because the straight route goes into the beauty/makeup aisle and it's always full of employees trying to sell me stuff.

u/Outside-Pear9429 15h ago
Better not do that again. The pharmacy employees are pissed at you for it

u/IrrelevantManatee 15h ago
Sometime I even DARE go farther to get some stuff I want to buy. IMAGINE THAT. I know I am a terrible person.
2
u/ThereInAFortnight 15h ago
Meanwhile, as a dude, I can strut right through there knowing nobody will even look at me.

Wow I wish my life was so easy.
But on the other hand, being a man means being exposed to FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCT. So your life is not that easy after all.

u/ThereInAFortnight 15h ago
Thank you for being thoughtful about our exposure to FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS.

I think I do something similar at my pharmacy, and it's just because the other aisle is a quiet one.

u/DM_me_pets 15h ago
My pharmacy is set up to go the "long way" as well, it helps to avoid congestion at the register. Im mildly infuriated when people use the "wrong" line. đ

u/manmadefruit 15h ago
The 'red line aisle' at my Pharmacy is for makeup, tampons and diapers. I ain't going down there.

People have not memorized the optimal route to the pharmacy like you have because you are there every day.

u/Exceptional_Kumquat 15h ago
What stuff is on the shelves on the pink vs blue routes? Are there feminine products or something on one of those paths that dudes are avoiding?

u/VolcanicBear 15h ago
Why would guys avoid walking near feminine hygiene products? Holy shit lmfao that'd be hilarious if that was the case.

Seeing if they want anything else

Maybe they wanna see what's on the other side of the shelf. Shouldn't be a big deal

u/AstraNuggz 15h ago
I usually go the other route because I like to sight-see and thatâs also usually where feminine products are for me because I rarely go into the pharmacy for just one thing and also to avoid having to talk to people by saying excuse me lol. Never thought that would be something that could piss the pharmacist off đ now one more thing for me to stress abt lol
3
u/Outside-Pear9429 15h ago
Right?? People are apparently pissed at you no matter what you do. At this point just do whatever you want. Someoneâs going to be mad no matter what so no use in trying to avoid it
6
u/PoopyMcFartButt 15h ago
Iâm entitled to be mildly infuriated that this mildly infuriates you. Who cares
2
u/Outside-Pear9429 14h ago
This. Iâm more mildly infuriated by people posting stuff on this sub that doesnât even reach the threshold for mild. Not at all infuriating
1
u/PoopyMcFartButt 14h ago
And every time you have 1000 people in the comments saying ââď¸đ¤ ackshually this sub* *is âmildlyâ infuriatingâ as if that somehow justifies being able to post the stupidest shit Iâve ever seen on reddit
5
u/Outside-Pear9429 15h ago
More things people are apparently judging me for when Iâm out running errands. Never wouldâve guessed people working the pharmacy would be pissed if I donât walk through the store correctly on my way to them. seems like as long as I go to their correct register and am polite then thatâs all thatâs expected of me but I guess not! Hope I never need to see something on that other shelf. No matter what you do thereâs someone whoâs annoyed by it
3
u/One-Possible1906 15h ago
I always pick the wider aisle especially if itâs the one that doesnât have people coughing and dripping snot on medications or the makeup aisle with its 10,000 cameras and constant accusations of theft

u/Creamed_Dreamer 15h ago
Why get caught up on expectations and trivial issues that are beyond your control? Drop the expectations of them taking a certain path and youll realize thinking about these things just takes away energy from your day to day life.

u/minkamagic 15h ago
Why does it matter...?
6
u/Jchvv11 15h ago
Because its mildly infuriating. Keep up

u/Fauked 15h ago
This sub when someone posts something mildly infuriating
2
u/IrrelevantManatee 15h ago
The problem is, people are posting things all the time that are not even a little bit infuriating. When you work, having a client walk a different route that you would want them too and getting mad is crazy. People are there to shop, not to cater to the cashier's OCD.
I am so tired of those "OMG I have to unlock my door" or "I have to put shoes on before leaving the house" type of posts. Those are normal life action. Not infuriating at all. That's what it's like being an adult and having a job.

u/Outside-Pear9429 15h ago
This. Something thatâs very infuriating and probably not right for this sub: my boss beat me up because I didnt answer his email quickly enough. Full on assault for no reason is extremely upsetting. 10000/10 infuriating
Something thatâs mildly infuriating and perfect for this sub: my coworker chews with their mouth open and itâs gross. Yeah this is annoying although no it technically isnât hurting me so thatâs why itâs only mild. 3/10 infuriating
Something not infuriating at all: I donât like how my customers walk when theyâre minding their business before they even get to me. This would not upset any normal person at all. In any way. There is no infuriation factor here. 0/10 infuriating

I usually try and go the direct path unless I see someone is in the isle shopping or an employee is stocking then Iâll go the longer way to not squeeze by someone
2
u/FruitigerMilo 15h ago
I do this bc I can never tell who is in line and who is just browsing the aisles

I feel you on this. Where i work there is 2 registers right next to each other. I'll be standing directly behind one and folks will come up and place their merchandise at the other one. Like cmon man.

I've been to pharmacies with this layout, and in those experiences, the 1st stall is usually more visible than the 2nd one. But it's used for the consult area. I'm guessing it's to avoid line congestion from getting in the way of the main aisle of the shared store, but as a result, it just pushes the actual line into a cramped corner where you have to be in between two narrow aisles.
Having said that, it's only a mistake you should make once, lol

u/Living-Computer6336 15h ago
this is a *perfect* example of something that is mildly infuriating. I can sympathize, because Iâve had plenty of similar âannoying customer tendencyâ moments over the years
1
u/Outside-Pear9429 14h ago
Is this even an annoying customer tendency? Those are things like talking on the phone at the counter and not listening to what the pharmacist is saying, letting their kids climb all over the counter and knock stuff over, complaining when itâs busy and the pharmacist canât move at lightning speed, etc. This isnât even annoying, itâs just a customer shopping in a store that sells things. Who would think they have to behave a certain way before they even get to the counter. This seems more like annoying employee than annoying customer

Thank God you included a drawing. With colored pen.

Imagine youâre at the register waiting for someone to come hand you your prescription and this is what the pharmacist is doing in the back
1
u/SomeEgyptianGod 15h ago
I do this at Walgreens. The blue aisle has all the âas seen on tvâ stuff that I never buy but I always look at just to see what gee-whiz thing theyâve got out there now. The pink aisle is just medical supplies. So I guess you could call it the scenic route.

You sound super entitled. Especially if there are products on those shelves for purchase.
Imagine putting out a bunch of stuff for shopping and getting upset that customers shop, or getting upset that you have to do the job you are literally getting paid to do.
Omg, you had to talk to someone while sitting down. Such a big deal.
I a 100% disabled vet and wounded warrior who hurt myself by spending a decade building explosives out in the elements and I donât bitch this much.
You are sitting down in a climate controlled building and complaining that you had to sayâ I can help you hereâ
Absolute first world problem!

My customers used to do the same when i worked in a paint store. It was really irritating.

Well nobody can say this one isn't mild.
