Star Wars Zero Company: the perfect game for nighttime newborn duty.

Post image

My wife and I are new parents, and she returned to work last week. For the first week of her being back at work, I took over all the nighttime duties, and playing Zero Company has been amazing. Being able to play with one hand while I’m feeding him or rocking him back to sleep has been a lifesaver. Also, our little guy loves Star Wars music, or it at least helps him fall asleep.

Non-sequel games that have numbers in the title

I just had a random shower thought: I wonder how many games have a number in them that isn't a part of a sequel. For example, Fallout 3&4 wouldn't count, but Fallout 76 would, as would Horizon Zero Dawn. All the Anno games fall in the grey area.

What weird titles come to mind for you?

Edit to add: not sequels, not prequels, not to indicate a number in a series of arbitrary canon/non-spinoff franchises. Final Fantasy is a prime example of what I'm NOT looking for. 😁

How is the new Fire Emblem?

I'm a big fan of the fire emblem games, but I will admit that I didn't like engage. I found the combat to be as engaging as ever, but the anime tropes and characters were really annoying. I liked 3H, though. My issues is that I heard the new one is heavily skewed towards the out of combat activities, particularly the social features. Is this true?

Plucked the foam, glued the upper and lower foam sheets together for rigidity, and Plasti-Dip'd the combined foam inserts for longterm strength. Great case for family vacations (especially flights).

Project Nomads (2002), one of those ancient steampunk gems that mixes elements of a shooter, action, tactics, island-o-war control and aircraft simulator (maybe more) in real-time - on GOG. Check it out and please vote for it!

Hi guys, this is my first time posting here. And I'm very happy it's about one of my beloved games.

It has a soul, honest and true. For one, the campaign can be played with 3 different characters which affects the in-game mechanics and progress complexity.

Please note that the mods and fixes are available and keeping alive even, as:

  1. Project 'Resurrection' - gameplay enhancing mod (harder, more challenging and more interesting)
  2. Upscaled graphics (4 GB free space required)
  3. Widescreen & GUI fix (could also be tuned for any resolution, not necessarily widescreen, some modifications are also provided)
  4. ENB fix
  5. 3D mode with vorpX
  6. Patch 2 and 2.e (Multiplayer and miscillaneous fix back from 2002)

I playtested the game with this bench (except for 3D) a few years ago on Windows 10, did a youtube walkthrough. I think the modders did an excellent job at returning the feeling of freedom, steampunk, futuristic aesthetic, as well as enhancing the story campaign.

Still it would be wonderfull to have a nice port for all modern pc systems.

We even have our small community r/ProjectNomads for our 'air-nomads' to re-visit our home harbor, the Grey Market, once in a while.

P.S. Sure the game has some drawbacks, like a) portion of repeatetiveness, b) they almost do not explain how to do things, c) extreme complexity in some parts, d) old squared looks. But haven't you ever dreamed of controlling your own floating island in a post-apocalyptic world?

Looking for games with great combat

After finishing Onimusha, it's hard to go to other games. I tried Control Resonant, and it's a good game, but not like Onimusha. Sekiro is obviously also great. I've tried the Dark Souls games and Elden Ring, and while they're fine. I prefer faster paced games. I loved DMC, Ninja Gaiden. The new Jedi games. How is Stellar Blade? Any other games you guys would recommend? I tried Lies of P, but found it too slow.

"An entirely new RuneScape MMORPG, built in Unreal Engine and set in the world of Gielinor. Right now, it’s rocking a working title: RS4. That isn't necessarily the name we’ll eventually settle on, but this is our fourth generation RuneScape project, so RS4 works pretty well for now."

Next game for “game night with the boys”

We just finished Big Walk (and absolutely loved it) and are looking for recommendations on games to play with 5-10 people at a time.

We’re looking at: Valheim, Enshrouded, DragonWilds, Peak, Dune Awakening..

Like most dudes the consensus is “yeah man pick whatever and we’ll play it” so any recommendations I’ll take!

We’re big nerds that basically like anything!!

[Discussion] Games you haven't played in awhile

So I have been in between games more often lately and I have been looking at my last played list to find a game that I can replay. I have come across games that I swear I just played, only to find I haven't played them in almost a year. I do purchase Early Access games a lot since its usually much cheaper, half to a quarter of the 1.0 price tag, so I tend to try games, quit to wait for major updates.

Is anyone else having this problem? I know its joked about having too many games(Steam X season sales) but those typically refer to unplayed games, I've played these games before which seem like only yesterday or last month that I played them when in reality, much longer. Another title is Enshrouded, I swear I just played it 6 months ago but my last played, 1.5 years ago... Granted I'm waiting on 1.0 this month but when I heard about it going to 1.0, it didn't even dawn on me its been over a year since I played...Valheim, just played, 2 years ago.... Too many titles, yet still fresh like I played them yesterday..

What mechanic did you completely ignore your entire first playthrough, then feel like an idiot for discovering later?

2.3k Upvotes

Just finished Hollow Knight with like 60 hours on the clock and I only now learned what the dream nail actually does. I upgraded it twice and shelved it. Turns out it's basically free soul and a whole lore layer just sitting there, and I treated it like a decorative butter knife the whole game. What's yours?

What game did you put down for months or years, then pick back up and wonder why you ever stopped?

Mine was Hollow Knight. I bounced off it twice because the first few hours felt rough, then came back a year later on a whim and put in 60 hours straight. Felt like an idiot for quitting. Curious what everyone else's 'why did I stop playing this' game is.

Favorite Adventuring RPG's?

Watching Shangri La Frontier made me think of some of the great Adventure JRPG's I've played over the course of my life. Games that I feel really nailed that sense of Adventure and discovery and excitement when finding a new major city/hub/settlement to trade and find new quests. The most recent games for me would be Octopath Traveler series, FF7 Rebirth, and Dragon Quest XI.

What games new or old really nail that sense of Adventure?
