[Discussion] Games you haven't played in awhile

So I have been in between games more often lately and I have been looking at my last played list to find a game that I can replay. I have come across games that I swear I just played, only to find I haven't played them in almost a year. I do purchase Early Access games a lot since its usually much cheaper, half to a quarter of the 1.0 price tag, so I tend to try games, quit to wait for major updates.

Is anyone else having this problem? I know its joked about having too many games(Steam X season sales) but those typically refer to unplayed games, I've played these games before which seem like only yesterday or last month that I played them when in reality, much longer. Another title is Enshrouded, I swear I just played it 6 months ago but my last played, 1.5 years ago... Granted I'm waiting on 1.0 this month but when I heard about it going to 1.0, it didn't even dawn on me its been over a year since I played...Valheim, just played, 2 years ago.... Too many titles, yet still fresh like I played them yesterday..

Yeah I only recently realized I hadnt played darkest dungeon since early access and loaded it back up and happily found some DLC too!

the dlc for that game is such a perfect addition, the flagellant is one of my favorite classes they ever added.

yeah the flagellant's ability to stress heal himself by taking damage is such a cool high-risk high-reward mechanic

Haven't played Valorant in a while. I was heavy into it until I began seeing kids play it, so I felt dumb playing it because I'm older so I stopped and moved on to single player story driven games.

Would be nice if game publishers introduced age brackets so I can match up with people my age group, then I wouldn't mind playing Valorant again.

the age bracket thing is a cool idea, i'd definitely jump back into some multiplayer games if i knew i was with people my own speed

You're definitely not alone. I think when a game leaves a strong impression, your memory keeps it "fresh," so a year feels like a month. Waiting for 1.0 updates definitely throws off our sense of time even more!

Sometimes it doesn't help that some games are EA so early on that 1.0 is a few years off. I am sure I have a few games that are not even the same game anymore that I haven't played in awhile.

yeah the 1.0 wait is a huge time warp, especially when you get a notification for a major update and it feels like you just put it down last week

the early access thing is exactly it for me. i bought Valheim years ago, sank like 80 hours into it, then put it down waiting for more content. felt like i just played it a couple months ago but it's been ages. the weird part is loading back in and remembering how to do everything like muscle memory.

My only thing I didn't like is that new, at the time zone full of spiders, not my thing, game went to more horror genre than anything... One EA game I probably won't play again.
