Moldrise is a very unique adventure (mystery? horror?) game where you play as a guy trying to get to the rooftop of his decrepit and crumbling apartment after finding a mysterious mold growth on his foot. Very unique game, can finish it in just a couple hours, less than ten bucks.

DOCTOR VISERA is a survival horror much like Amnesia the Bunker or the Granny series of games, where you're attempting to escape an insane asylum run by a mad doctor and his curvaceous assistant, both of whom have the most wonderful Herr Doktor accents. A whole lotta fun for just five dollarydoos.

Thief 1 and Thief 2 are both less than two dollars each; if you like stealth games at all you owe it to yourself to play these.

Arx Fatalis, the very first game Arkane made, is also less than two.

Launched back in September 2024, NBA 2K25 is the latest NBA game that is being pulled from digital stores. 2K will be pulling the game from purchase starting on October 30, 2026. Additionally, online servers will be shut down on January 1, 2027. As a result, the game's multiplayer modes and MyCareer, the game's single-player story mode, will become unplayable. MyCareer is linked to the game's online capabilities, as progression and the game's virtual currency are all dependent on a connection to the servers. If there are no servers, the mode becomes unplayable.

Those who purchase NBA 2K25 before October 30 will be able to freely download the game and play offline modes whenever they want. You can read 2K's statement on the matter below.

"As of January 1, 2027, you'll no longer be able to play multiplayer games or access any online game modes. MyCAREER and MyTEAM will no longer be available, and it will no longer be possible to earn Virtual Currency (VC). While you will still be able to enjoy Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA, any features that require a connection to 2K servers will be unavailable. This includes multiplayer, Online Leagues, and community sharing."

Let's say they're one those bosses who start as a human and drink something to turn into a monster. What's the plan if they win? Are they going to keep doing their CEO job or whatever as a giant eyeball monster?

Like regardless of how tough or how effective they are. They really do carry themselves as the next level of opponent characters.

The Elites members of the Foot Clan from TMNT are fun and a threat when they get introduced. Also kind of funny, because how are you ninjaing it up with a huge battle axe, even the trident guy at least is using a thin one.

I'm watching the newest Versus Wolves where John recommended Void Stranger to Woolie. John loves Void Stranger so much and whenever the game comes up I'm so bummed out because while I love the art, the music, the story, and the knowledge-gated secrets of the game when I played it, at a certain point the punishing sokoban (block pushing puzzle) gameplay just became too difficult and frustrating for me.

I eventually did some of the secret content by using guides that just told me exactly what buttons to push on every level, but that definitely sapped a lot of the feeling out of discovering things myself. I adore games where you could have done things all along but you just didn't know you could (Outer Wilds, The Witness, Blue Prince, etc), but there's just something about the trial-and-error-and-error-and-error nature of sokobans that just isn't fun for me, and needing to get through dozens and dozens of those levels in order to try some new idea I learned became too much for me to endure.

It's a bummer!

What are some games that you wish you enjoyed the gameplay more so you could experience the rest of what it offers to the fullest?

Because sometimes the "good guys" have their own little helper allies in arms. Unfortunately for them, when it's time for the stakes to rise they're the first on the chopping block.

While not actively bloody, the way Clone Troopers keep getting brutally killed in the Clone Wars 2008 show is messed up. Like this trooper on the right that got trap chopped up into many pieces in the Citadel or the LAAT Pilot whose ship glass and helmet got cracked by B2 Rocket Droids and before being tossed into the vacuum of space or that other 212th Division trooper that gets maules and devoured by the hairy land piranhas on Ryloth or that other 212th that gets either eaten by zombie Geonosians or mass infected with their zombie worms.

Just the type of ends that really wants to make you protect your friendlies.
