Dude, I know we're supposed to hate the UB slop, but as a pig I hope Star Trek set is fun.

I was excited about it since the release, and so far I didn't see anything mechanically cool or unique. Luckily, Prepared Spells and EMPOWER JACE has been my highlights this year, so it's not all bad, but I would love to see something cool.

Seeing Lower Decks people does make me somewhat happy, even if they are using the lame live action art style.

I mean, I get it. Seeing your favorite characters adapted to card game mechanics is genuinely fun.

On the other hand, them being actual, official parts of the game makes the whole thing feel a little fortnite-y.

I cannot possibly give a shit about the Star Trek set. I still hope you have fun with it and it portrays the franchise well. It is the single most counter productive thing to fight with other internet denizens over UB, and all complaints should be directed at Hasbro.

The "pig eating slop" shit is an awful non criticism that divides the fanbase into "us vs them" mentality and does nothing but turn good faith people away.

I do 100% agree on that. It seems to be the theme of this decade - just split people into sides so both are contributing to a larger company issues. Sucks.

I protest by proxying for myself and friends, so for me - the more cards they release the better. The rest is less important.

Yeah. UB combined with the lore decisions made after MOTM has basically destroyed any passion I used to hold for the game, but I'm not going to be cruel to someone just because they like it. I express disappointment with the the stuff all the time, but that derision is never aimed towards my fellow players, just the company making it.

Honestly surprised the Sickbay Orderly is a "Caitian Doctor" and not a generic "Cat Doctor" for the purposes of keyword synergy. I know all cards tagged as "Naga" or "Viashino" have retroactively been renamed "Snake" and "Lizard" respectively.

Y'know something that's funny? The way Pat described how someone would feel seeing a Doctor Who card across them on the table is exactly how I feel, but also, is how I feel looking at every single Star Trek card revealed (specially that fuck ass Sheoldred with Khan skinned over her) and how off-putting and out of place they all look.
