Witcher Incredible what an update can do for an 11 year old game
Being on PC and having all of the graphics turned up with path tracing, playing on a 1440p OLED monitor, the level of immersion has grown exponentially. Can't wait to spend another 400 hours in this game!

Meme No, you are all wrong. This is the best girl in game.
The first time Millie gives you that drawing was the only time I teared up playing this fantastically grimdark โonly gray choicesโ game. Only time I felt like a real hero; no world-ending catastrophe, no political machinations affecting kingdoms and nations. Just a little girl and a Witcher she saw as a hero- the small scale of it plot wise is what gives it such emotional depth imo.

Screenshot Saying goodbye to Triss sucks!
Whenever I play Witcher 3, I play twice in a row. In the first playthrough, I choose Yen to romance because I do somewhat agree that it's more lore-accurate. But in the second playthrough, I choose Triss because WHY IS THIS SCENE SO SAD?

Discussion How is your playthough of the Remastered TW3 going?
Are you a first-time player or a long-time fan of the franchise? I've been replaying this game since 2015, countless times.
In many ways, Remaster feels like I'm playing for the first time. New skills and monsters behave differently, so my muscle memory alone cannot carry me. Graphics look phenomenal. Playing with all settings on Ultra+, Path Tracing, and Hairworks. Every time I ride around, I look around in amazement. I don't think I've played a game that looks just as good as TW3R.

Discussion Appreciation for Transmog
I have always been someone who is way too much into roleplaying within realistic logic - as much as possible. For one example - I always personally disliked having flashy , nicely decorated swords on Geralt's back whereas he is a wanderer and flashy , expensive hilted swords mean extra hassle. Finally , thru transmog , I have managed to change my witcher blades into my most fav non flashy , normal looking swords - Velen Long Sword (Crafted) and Dysglair (Common/Master). Not only these two share same scabbard design but also share their designs with the starting swords in White Orchard. I am personally indebted to CDPR for this feature at last. Just hope Scoutbr0 from Nexus mod updates his "More Robes" mod for the remaster. Then , I will get plenty more armors to transmog.
P.S - I am using manticore look on my griffin set , LoL. Finally got a reason to wear that fat looking set.

Discussion Witcher 3 made me realise that narrative is one of the most important pillars in gaming.
Dialogue, writing, voice acting, and story, are the incentives โ the carrot and stick. Itโs what keeps me going regardless of whether the rest of the gameโs working for me or not. I used to obsess over visuals or gameplay systems, but at the end of the day, the carrot is what makes the experience feel whole. Even just books and lore bits throughout the world, they make the world feel more alive comparatively to games with more complex world simulations.
Itโs why even though Crimson Desert offers 100s of systems and more content than Witcher 3, I got bored and petered out in CD and why W3 is still able to hook me in. Even just the ? activities have sometimes roped me into a story I didnโt expect.
While obviously thereโs games where story doesnโt matter, like Minecraft, where the gameplay itself is the incentive, the difference being the sandbox creative approach vs. a curated experience. Oftentimes curated experiences are as good as their stories. Itโs why The Last of Us gets talked about over a game like Days Gone, even if they have similar zombie gameplay.
Now maybe thatโs just me, obviously everyone plays games for different reasons, but I genuinely think if Witcher 3s writing and story wasnโt as good, Iโd probably get bored fast like I have all AC open world games, Crimson Desert, etc.

News Witcher 3 Remastered (5.00c) currently bugged skills
Based on a post I made recently, I was made aware that some skills aren't working properly. While looking for more information, I found a few additional ones.
Build or respec accordingly. If you want to unlock combat skills that require any of these bugged skills, put just one point into the prerequisite and prioritize other skills for your ability slots and mutagen bonuses until these issues are fixed.
If you're on PC, there are mods that fix some of these issues!
Muscle Memory: (first skill in the left side of combat)
- Damage bonus can be completely dropped due to a counter bug.
- Dodge/arrow interaction can leave the sword permanently glowing.
- Timer/state behavior is also inconsistent.
Strength Training: (first dedicated strong attack skill)
- Damage bonus can be completely dropped due to a counter bug.
- When it does apply, the bonus only affects the first enemy hit by the Strong Attack.
- It should apply to every enemy hit by the Strong Attack.
Three Strikes: (2nd skill under Muscle Memory)
- Chance roll happens on the 4th hit instead of the 3rd, despite the description saying 3rd.
- Damage bonus is applied to the triggering hit instead of the following matching attack.
- Some incorrect visual effects are also used.
- Timer/state behavior can be inconsistent.
Cat School Techniques:
- Critical-hit damage bonus is currently multiplied by 0, so the bonus doesn't actually apply.
- Character Stats can also calculate/display the skill bonuses incorrectly.
Edit: Looks like thereโs a lot more. Thanks for adding them here so everyone is made aware!
