News Witcher 3 Remastered (5.00c) currently bugged skills

Based on a post I made recently, I was made aware that some skills aren't working properly. While looking for more information, I found a few additional ones.

Build or respec accordingly. If you want to unlock combat skills that require any of these bugged skills, put just one point into the prerequisite and prioritize other skills for your ability slots and mutagen bonuses until these issues are fixed.

If you're on PC, there are mods that fix some of these issues!

Muscle Memory: (first skill in the left side of combat)

  • Damage bonus can be completely dropped due to a counter bug.
  • Dodge/arrow interaction can leave the sword permanently glowing.
  • Timer/state behavior is also inconsistent.

Strength Training: (first dedicated strong attack skill)

  • Damage bonus can be completely dropped due to a counter bug.
  • When it does apply, the bonus only affects the first enemy hit by the Strong Attack.
  • It should apply to every enemy hit by the Strong Attack.

Three Strikes: (2nd skill under Muscle Memory)

  • Chance roll happens on the 4th hit instead of the 3rd, despite the description saying 3rd.
  • Damage bonus is applied to the triggering hit instead of the following matching attack.
  • Some incorrect visual effects are also used.
  • Timer/state behavior can be inconsistent.

Cat School Techniques:

  • Critical-hit damage bonus is currently multiplied by 0, so the bonus doesn't actually apply.
  • Character Stats can also calculate/display the skill bonuses incorrectly.

Edit: Looks like there’s a lot more. Thanks for adding them here so everyone is made aware!

  • Counterattack - definitely bugged.

  • Maimed Shot - either bugged or it doesn't affect Werewolf healing.

  • Whirl - heard this one doesn't count as Fast Attack, but a confirmation would be nice.

  • Deadly Precision - subtle or no indicator.

  • Resonance - invisible timer.

  • Arachas Decoction - possibly bugged with unlimited weight limit?

Bummer, I was actually looking forward to maim shot. Is this skill totally bugged or it's only about werewolf healing? I still don't have the skill that's why I'm asking. Thanks!

I don't feel any changes when I used it against other monsters, but I could be missing something.

At least guaranteed Bleeding from Broadhead Bolt was enough to cancel the regen, so that's something.

Thanks. I guess I will go sign build for now until devs have a fix.

Three Strikes: (2nd skill under Muscle Memory)

Chance roll happens on the 4th hit instead of the 3rd, despite the description saying 3rd.

Damage bonus is applied to the triggering hit instead of the following matching attack.

Wait, doesn't that mean that its technically working properly? The bonus damage is applied on the 4th hit either way.

For all of the other abilities where you roll a chance for extra damage, a successful roll causes your sword to glow to indicate if it was successful or not. Having the roll and damage on the same hit means the player doesn't know until the 4th attack lands if it was buffed or not.

If that's intentional, it's a weird choice to give a cue to the player on all of the other melee abilities, but not Three Strikes. But it's probably not intentional, and a bug is most likely preventing the sword from glowing on a successful roll.

4 light -> Heavy is optimal if Three Strikes triggers

3 light -> Heavy is optimal if it doesn't.

Not having a cue means there's not much reason to use the ability at all. You might as well just do 3 light +1 Heavy every single time, because you are guaranteed extra damage, rather than taking a blind chance at an empowered 4th.

It'd be a pretty minor bug that only affects people who min-max their skills; But a bug nonetheless.

Acquired Tolerance: the effect is that same as the previous version despite the description stating a different effect

Anyone know if Potent Sting actually works or not? I couldn't get any damage difference to show in the stats menu when equipping a weapon with a poison chance rune or slotting in the poisoned blades skill. Also wasn't having much luck testing it by hitting some enemies with or without it on.

How's it even possible to introduce so many bugs? Wtf has CDPR done? All of these things were working fine in v4.04 and now (on PS and Xbox) we are stuck with this buggy mess...
