Going to a concert at Jon Cain arena tomorrow night and hoping to ride my bike there. . . any good places to park a bike around there that will hopefully not get it stolen in the ~5 hours I'll be inside?

I lost my wonderful wife to ovarian cancer just under two months ago.
I took this photo of her in 1998. It's one of those photos you had processed, put in the photo album, and then forgot about until we decided to look through memories. We had both forgotten where this was taken. I remember it was on a day trip out of Melbourne into the eastern half of the state.
Now that she is gone, the memories are pure gold. I really want to find this spot so I can return to it, sit exactly there, and remember my soulmate.
I really hope someone can help identify it.

I've tried watching the video on the new airport pickup but I'm still a bit confused. I read somewhere it's free to pickup if you stay less than 5 minutes but what happens if it takes longer? Do they fine you on the spot? Or do you have to take a ticket when you go in and pay on the way out like a car park?

Hi all,
Where can I get something like this made in Melbourne?

Hi everyone
Got a scam email purporting to be from Linkt and requesting overdue payments.
The actual email address is sent from Survey Monkey and the reply to address is settle.your.outstanding.balance.to.avoid.additional.fees@fextemp.com
Apparently Linkt hasn’t had any data breaches. I know I could take my pick at those point, Optus/Telstra etc., but wondering how this particular scam matched my email address to driving in Victoria and possibly having a Linkt account.
Anyone else had this email?

Holding a family party this weekend and I’d like to order a couple of Peking ducks to make pancakes for a buffet table. I’m new to Melbourne and wondered if anyone could give me pointers on the best local place to pre-order two cooked ducks to collect on Friday?
Cheers!

I'm feeling stuck and a bit worried, so I'm hoping for some advice and ideas.
I'm a single parent with kids, a disability, and a job that isn't very secure. My car is 20 years old, drinks petrol, and really needs to be retired.
The problem is that I have some debt and struggle financially, so getting a loan will be tricky. I keep seeing decent cars on Marketplace for $5–10k, but I can't see how I'd afford that. At the same time, I spend so much on petrol that it feels like that money could be going towards loan repayments instead.
Has anyone been in a similar spot? I'd love to hear any ideas: low-income loan options, cheap reliable cars to look for, or anything else that's worked for you.

I’m looking for a physio in East/South East (Scoresby as a reference point) or CBD. I have complex knee issues so am looking for someone who has specialty knowledge in that area. Happy to travel a good distance for the right practitioner. Anyone have a recommendation?

When I first contacted the SRO back in July/August I was told it would take 5 weeks for them to get back to me.
When I recontacted them in September I was told it was now a 90 day wait to hear back from them.
I know there are many industries that a 90 day or longer wait is a part of business. But how long does it take to read an email and make a decision?
Are you understaffed or overwhelmed?

Has anyone encountered this issue at work? I am trying to heat up my food or drink in the microwave. And when I take the item out it absolutely reeks and tastes of strong spices. This is a fairly new work place I am at and the microwave is not extremely old. How do you guys deal with it? Do you just suck it up and drink a stinky spiced milk or just don’t drink or microwave food at work at all?

I didn't want to give this a flair, but apparently I have to.
So, I've been doing some walking training for an 83.3 kilometre charity walk later this month (I can include a donation link in the comments, but I don't want to break any rules).
As part of that, I've been walking some of the trails across Melbourne, because I find it meditative to be out in nature.
As such, I have thoughts on the trails I have walked, and I hope others can include their thoughts on their preferred trails.
Main Yarra Trail: the furthest east I've gotten on this trail is Ivanhoe/Bulleen. I think it's a good trail, but could definitely do with some more lighting.
Capital City Trail: I've pretty much covered it all now - I think I'm only missing from Royal Park Station to Flemington Bridge Station. It could do with a bit more signage to show that it is multiple trails at once.
Gardiners Creek Trail: I've walked the whole thing. The bridge under the freeway is weird, but it does a good job of connecting two disparate sections. Otherwise, it's lovely and green.
Dandenong Creek Trail: My goodness, there's big chunks of this that just do not feel safe. I've walked it from Carrum to Glen Waverley, and that initial stretch was done in the early hours of the morning. I have no problems walking this time of the morning in the quiet, but it was so quiet and eerie. There's also very little street or path lighting between Carrum and Dandenong, so I would not recommend this trail alone when it's dark.
Koonung Creek Trail + Eastlink (Ringwood to Donvale): The signage here is not great, and given the current works on the M3/North East Link, I had to go back and forth across the freeway. I'm sure it will be great once all those roadworks are finished, but at the moment, I'm not a fan.
Moonee Ponds Creek + Broadmeadow Valleys Trail + Aitken Creek Trail: Moonee Ponds Creek is fantastic, even when it's pissing down with rain on and off on Grand Final Day. Broadmeadows Valleys Trail is similarly good, particularly once you get to see the Aqueduct (you know, what the Romans did for us). However, the Aitken Creek Trail is misleading in its length. It does not go all the way through to Craigieburn Station.
Maribyrnong River Trail + Taylors Creek Trail: This is a really hilly trek, particularly in the latter stages of the Maribyrnong River Trail. The connection between these two trails is tough to work out, and added several kms to my walk that day.
Merri Creek Trail: Given the recent rain, a couple of sections were flooded, but there's lot of signage to show where to go in such an event. The council(s) need a lot of credit for that. However, signage for usual sections of the trail could do with some work.
Upfield Bike/Shared Trail: It's not really clear where this trail starts/finishes in the north until you are on top of it. It would make a lot of sense to extend it all the way to the M80/Western Ring Road Trail. Also, running alongside the cemetery in Fawkner is a bit odd, but given that there is land there, it makes sense. It's nice to see how the local community have decorated the path with cans and horses - it did give me a bit of a giggle. Having immediate connection to the Upfield line is a big plus.
So, what's your favourite trail? What is one I should consider trying?

Hi. Visiting from overseas. Concerned little one may have appendicitis (probably not, but we will see how things go over the next few hours, and we want to be prepared).
My question is, if we decide to go in, should we go to the local ED (Maroondah), or travel all the way to Royal Children’s?
In home country we would always go tot paediatric hospital if possible, but I don’t know how things work here, and it’s quite a bit further away from where we are staying.
Appreciate any advice!

So my local MP posted that Labor will be reducing land tax as an election promise.
Whole I get that tax reductions are a vote winner, is this really the best thing for the state? The government cut thousands of jobs via the Silver review, abolished dozens of departments and organisations like Fisheries Victoria, Sustainability Victoria, cutting things like Cohealth and workers have been striking for months across Parks Victoria, hospitals, education....the government is alco saying things like "we need to cut $2 billion from the SRL by removing Interchange plans". If the government is so strapped for cash (as indicated by all these cuts) - why reduce revenue even more??
Less money just means less services, longer wait times and a reduced quality of life.

There have been a few times where my parents have laughed off Pauline's policies as a joke, but I also feel like they are the type to vote for someone just because they are of the same ethnic background. So please give me some ideas.

I’d like to visit either for my birthday with my boyfriend.
We’re big hot springs fans! Trying to decide which one to choose.
I love the idea of natural landscapes of Peninsular but also love the modern architecture and quiet nature of Alba. Do they both offer full day passes and have cafe’s?
Thanks for your recommendations!
