Discussion Lesser known animations or works as good as Autodale?
I recently rediscovered and binged "Autodale" by David Armsby again. Its even better than I remembered it being and I even went to his patreon to get his sketchbooks and prints.
Anyways I showed it to a friend who likes the same work as I do, and he was shocked that he'd never encountered it. Which made me think, what else is out there that maybe seems obvious but really maybe only a select niche has stumbled upon.
What works do you remember and think never got the attention they deserved or any artists who make similar works to David? He's still doing "Sauria" but it looks like Autodale is auto-dead sadly.
Links or stills of the works you mention would be awesome by the way.

Question Daughter wants to get into animation.
My daughter is finishing high school and wants to go into animation.
I'd love to hear from any professionals their thoughts on the industry.
- How is AI impacting jobs?
- Where do you see it going in the future?
- Is it worth getting a degree in animation?
- If so, are there some schools that are better than others? (SCAD, UCLA, San Jose? others?)
- Any other general feedback or thoughts on picking schools or making the next steps.
Apprecaite anything, I'm not familiar with this industry.

Sharing My Wife and I started Studio Ursa (An animation Studio) - We're crowdfunding the next season of our show Catus Magus created by Yaron Farkash
Hey All,
I posted a while ago about the release of the first show we produced Catus Magus, and since it's premiere we've developed a really wonderful audience. We decided to launch a Kickstarter for it. We self funded 8 episodes and now we're Kickstarting the next 8 episodes for Season 2. We're a little over a week in and at 28% funded so far, it ends Oct. 25th.
We're posting the full first episode of Season 1 here for people to check out. I know it's always hard to decide what to support on Kickstarter or in general but if you like our series, whether you can financial support it or not, spread the word for us.
As a studio with no Hollywood budget, we have to invest our own resources. But, that's what it takes when you care about quality story telling and love the art form. We vehemently oppose AI in animation so we choose to never stop creating art by people, for people.
Enjoy and support us or spread the word if you believe in our work and most of all, if you find joy in it,
-Team Ursa

Sharing First episode of a series I'm working on called Local Band
I released this back in February and never posted anything about it on reddit. Just thought I would share. It's not perfect, but I'm still proud of it.

Question What are the key skills for an animator that are least threatened by AI?
Not here to say if AI is or isn't replacing roles. I just want people's opinions.
I recently attended a local film festival and several key speakers at some of the animation Q&As mentioned AI and how producers/studio heads etc. are actually looking to experiment with AI and use it to replace as one of them called it "donkey work". There was a LOT of sentiment of 'this is happening, don't deny it, it's inevitable' and so on.
I want to develop my skills and find a way into this industry because I love animation, I've been working at it slowly for 3 years now, but I'm quite terrified of going down a road that can end up being phased out. As far as I know, many junior roles are often things like inbetweener and clean-up artist - these are things that the people that have to spend the money to make animations happen are most excited about using AI for.
What skills and qualities should junior animators and students be focusing on to stay relevant? (Not sure if it matters but I am asking from the perspective of a 2D animator here)

Sharing Fat bird series sprites
Here are some fat bird sprites I've been working on. :) I haven't done much for sprite animation so these are meant to be simple but useable. I hope I get to see someone use them in their projects in the future!

Sharing Looking my audience for my indie animated series “Marlene“
For the past few years, I’ve been building something really close to my heart: Marlene, an independent dark fantasy animated series.
It follows a young girl raised in a quiet church who discovers she’s an Anomaly, connected to an ancient force capable of eroding existence itself. After a devastating loss, Marlene is forced to confront the darkness within her and the fate she was never meant to escape.
What started as a personal idea has grown into a world of its own, with its characters, lore, animation, and a team of artists helping bring it to life.
I’m sharing some of the clips and work we’ve created so far because I want to start building a community around Marlene. I’m looking for people who love animation, dark fantasy, and stories that explore grief, identity, love, and what it means to remain human.
Our cinematic trailer is currently in production, and we’re aiming to release it around December 2026 or January 2027. From there, the plan is to build toward a Kickstarter campaign and take the next steps in bringing this series to life.
This is only the beginning, and I’d love for you to be part of the journey. Every follow, share, comment, and bit of support helps us reach more people who might connect with this story.
Follow Rezzy Studios and join us as we bring Marlene to life. 🖤

Sharing looking for guidance on how to turn an original story into an anime project...
Hi everyone, I have a complete, original story that I genuinely believe has great potential as an anime series. However, I am starting completely from scratch—I have 0% knowledge about animation, production, or how the industry works. Since I don't know the first thing about creating an anime, I am looking for guidance from experienced creators. I would appreciate your advice on: First Steps: What is the very first thing a writer with no animation background should do? Formats: Should I focus on turning my story into a script, a light novel, or a manga first? Collaboration: How do creators typically pitch their ideas or find artists/animators to team up with? Any resources, roadmaps, or honest advice for an absolute beginner would be incredibly helpful. Thank you!

Dialogue shot blocking, any feedback appreciated!
It's kind of spline/blocking and obviously still a lot of work needs to be done, but do the main poses and acting choices work ok?
