I won’t lie I’m sitting in the hospital typing this. I’ve been admitted to different hospitals and units a total of almost 20 times in my 21 years on this earth. It’s genuinely at the point where I’m just told there isn’t much available that I haven’t already done. Which I’m willing to try things again, however I need long term support more than anything. While yes assisted living/group homes would be a great option OW denies my applications and ODSP straight up ignores my applications. So that’s not an option because I have no income. I’ve also recently tried getting an act team but they never contacted me so I’m assuming that referral was denied. I’m just at a loss at this point like I don’t know what to do.
The reason I’m making this post is just wondering if anyone knows of anything available (program-wise) that could help. Im also all ears for any advice anyone has.
I’m sorry if this is an unorthodox place to make this post but I need to know if some local peeps know of anything
I also want to clarify I don’t want money or anything of financial value. Just advice from people in the know about mental health programs in the area.

My neighbor has moved to a new home and have put up the old one as an airbnb. I know from the city website that their airbnb is not legal- it is not listed in the city approved short-term rental list, the owner is not living on the property, and breaking few other by-laws.
What is the way to raise a complaint to the city, I heard they do not take anonymous complaints, I do not want to give them my name in case my neighbor comes to know which can raise resentments/conflicts.
It is more of a concern to be honest since I do not feel safe with a "new" neighbor every week or month.

Hello guys,
I am an introvert that does not have family here. How can I make friends in the Oshawa/Durham Region area?
I work remotely from home so the workplace is not really an option.
There are times where I feel like going out but I don't like going to places just by myself, at the same time I want to come out of my shell.
I feel like I am in isolation just being at home all the time, and it gets lonely at times. I also think I have mild depression from it.
What do you guys think?

Does anyone know why there are always so many trailers (and trucks) parked along Fox Street, by the South/Stevenson Walmart? I’ve always wondered what they’re doing there.

Anybody else really into movies or chess or sports or working out? Looking for local friends who are into any of those things to eventually meet up with. Or is there a local discord atleast in general for making friends?

Hey! I’m 24M. Pretty chill, easygoing, and respectful. I’m looking to meet someone who’s also interested in a casual, no-pressure connection and seeing where the vibe goes.
I’m into good conversations, movies, food, late-night drives, and trying new things. I’m clean, discreet, and value mutual respect and clear communication.

I am just wondering if there's anywhere I could go to find a decent breakdown of each of the candidates. I've been to a few of their pages and it mostly seems like standard politician drivel.

Hey guys, how’s everyone doing?
I’ve been getting interested in board games lately and wanted to actually get into them. Most people I know aren’t really into board games, so figured I’d see what’s out there.
Are there any groups around Oshawa open to new people, or anyone else looking for people to play with? I haven’t played a ton, so I’m open to pretty much anything. Just looking for something social, trying some games, having some laughs and seeing what we end up liking.
I’ve heard Brew Wizards Board Game Café is pretty good too, so that could be a fun place to try.
If anyone’s interested, or can point me in the right direction, let me know. Much appreciated!

I've been on the voter list for past municipal elections, but I have somehow been removed this year. Please double check you are still registered to vote: https://oshawa.voterservices.ca/voterlist/home/1813
If you have also been removed, you'll need to re-register in order to receive the letter you need to vote online.

My cat (6YO, female, spayed) got allergies starting May this year. This is the first time this had happened to her. She’s been super itchy through these months. She’s been on a couple of treatments with a couple of vets in the area. Hopefully will be getting better soon.
During the my visit today my vet mentioned that they’ve been seeing an increase in allergies in cats. Could be a coincidence, could be environmental?
Have you all with cats noticed this?

Currently in the market looking for a used SUV. I have a small budget as I’m currently a university student. Just got out a really shady deal with another dealership prior and now I’m very hesitant to go to random highly rated dealers. Any information is helpful, thanks.

The Star has put out a vote compass survey for various municipalities in Ontario, including Oshawa. Currently only half of the mayoral candidates have responded, though, so I encourage folks to reach out to them and ask them to respond (you can do it directly through the vote compass platform!)
Happy voting, Oshawa
