The video I have doesn’t really do it justice, but it shows enough.
My wife and I sit on our back deck often at night and enjoy some music and star gazing. We do this frequently, and have never seen this until tonight.
About two hours ago, my wife caught the first one and I pulled my phone out to try and record, which is the video you see. The video doesn’t really do it justice, but basically it looks like a thin curved cloud traveling at a decent speed perpendicularly. It’s a very still night here, a bit chilly, and no other obvious clouds.
We thought that was a little unusual, had never seen that before, but probably just a cloud. Then, 5 minutes later two more came across the same way. Those three all heading directly south.
When it got really weird for me was about 45min later when I looked up and saw the exact same thing, moving a little quicker, but east to west. It looked a little smaller and closer too. But still like a long, thin, curved cloud.
The last one is what made me want to post this. The same thing, but moving even quicker and to the southeast. I don’t understand how something that looks like a small cloud would move in such different directions on such a clear and calm night.
What the heck did we see tonight? Been out on this very deck hundreds of nights before and never seen anything like it.
Edit: It’s tough to see in the video, but it starts dead center and moves to the right. It was much easier to see in real life.
