| Statistics Michael King deserved a better outcome in Game 2. What a gem!

Looking back at Michael King’s line from Game 2, it’s a shame he walked away with a No-Decision.

He went 5.0 solid innings, giving up just 3 hits and 1 earned run, while racking up 6 strikeouts and issueing absolutely zero walks. A Game Score of 63 shows just how dialed in he was. He completely held down the Brewers' offense and put the Padres in a great position to win before the bullpen collapsed in the 9th.

For a postseason start, you can't ask for much more control than 6 K / 0 BB. How do you guys feel about his performance moving forward in this series? Can the Padres bounce back if the rest of the rotation steps up like this?

| Discussion Did the Padres get robbed of a Home Run against the Brewers? Let's talk about the ceiling hit.

3.0k Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m still thinking about that play in the Padres vs. Brewers game where Ty France hit the ball and it struck the stadium ceiling/roof structure.

I know that according to the local ground rules at American Family Field in Milwaukee, the ball stays live and in play. But honestly, looking at how hard Ty France crushed that ball, it got me thinking... did the Padres deserve a Home Run there?

If this exact same hit happened at Tropicana Field, striking the inner catwalks, it would be ruled an automatic home run. It feels a bit unfair that a batter can smash a ball so high and deep, only for a stadium's structural design to alter the trajectory, drop back down, and potentially get caught or change the outcome of the play.

What do you guys think? Should MLB standardize roof/ceiling hits across all indoor stadiums to reward batters like Ty France who crush the ball that high, or are you fine with each ballpark having its own chaotic ground rules?

Let’s discuss!

| Discussion What were some losing teams in the MLB but were fun to watch?

In the NBA, there was the 2000s LA Clippers. Despite mostly losing seasons and rarely making the playoffs, they were rather a fun team to watch. Many fans tuned in and bought tickets despite all this.

What are some MLB examples of this?
