Anyone wanting the Sox over the guardians?

Not much more to say. Im just tired of getting our asses kicked by Cleveland. Chicagos comeback has been impressive.

Just a thought. I haven’t seen much discussion about it

Running MLB The Show 26 franchise mode, only into May now, and I heard you could cheese the game to get position players to pitch, so I had to bring Jake out so he could lay some smackdown on the Angels.

Found two print versions following the 1984 WS win - which one is the earlier one?

Both are from the Free Press, dated to Oct 15 1984, the day after Game 5 happened. Both are also called Metro Final.

One of them has to be an earlier print right? Like a morning edition or smth

“TIGERS HAVE A $22 MILLION DECISION TO MAKE!”

TIGERS HAVE A $22 MILLION DECISION TO MAKE!

The Detroit Tigers have a major decision coming just days after the World Series.

Detroit has club-option decisions involving Drew Anderson at $10 million and Kenley Jansen at $12 million, with Jansen carrying a $2 million buyout.

Do the Tigers bring them back and spend the money—or start reshaping the pitching staff for 2027?

I break down what I think Detroit should do and why these decisions could be an early indication of the Tigers’ offseason strategy.

[Fancys Romero] The Detroit Tigers officially added one of the top European-eligible players today, signing German 🇩🇪 outfielder Emilio Götz. Bonus deal: $400,000. A left-handed hitter with athleticism and power. Götz has Cuban roots on his father’s side of the family.

Framber Valdez first 16 starts of 2026: 13 stolen bases allowed. Framber Valdez final 15 starts of 2026: 0 stolen bases allowed.

Framber Valdez has long been one of the worst pitchers in the league at stopping the running game, giving up 25 steals in 31 starts in 2025 and 19 in 31 starts in 2023. That trend continued when he joined the Tigers this year and gave up a whopping 13 steals in 16 games.

But something changed around the midpoint of the season, and he didn't give up a single stolen base in his final 15 starts. I'm not sure what, though.

I know his first season in Detroit was rocky at times but it's something to watch and a reason to be more optimistic about his 2027.

Credit to Dan Dickerson for pointing this out on one of the broadcasts during the final week of the season.

Even with his second-half struggles, there should be little doubt that Dillon Dingler is the Tigers' catcher now and into the future.
