Why, why, why as we expand technology do the simple things seem to get worse and worse. I literally cannot use voice-to-text without having to manually edit the output every single time. Also, who at Apple decided it would be a good idea to automatically AutoCorrect and insert names of people in your contacts in lieu of real words that would really be used in a real sentence.

For example, I'll use it to type out "for Moore on the Baer, check my next post."

I think you can figure out the intent behind my message, but why the hell would I ever use Moore & Baer in a sentence? Apple needs to figure their shit out. AI has made this so much worse.

I don’t know why but with iOS 27, Siri has started saying my contacts’ last names when sending messages. “Message sent to Wife LastName.”

If that’s not bad enough it is mispronouncing my/our last name. Can this be fixed?

When I receive an incoming call, the ringer volume shows in the Dynamic Island, but not the option to answer the call for a few seconds. Has anyone found a fix for this?

When I’m using Reddit, Instagram, or other apps on my iPhone 16 with IOS 26.5.2, videos or posts sometimes start playing audio automatically and totally randomly. This is especially annoying because I deliberately use these apps with the sound off. On Reddit I’ve turned on the Mute videos by default option but it still plays the sound.

Even if I mute the video, the audio sometimes comes back on a few seconds later. It also ducks the music I’m listening to on Spotify, which is even more frustrating.

What I’d really like is a way to completely prevent certain apps from outputting any audio at all, while still allowing apps like Spotify, podcasts, etc. to play normally.

I know iOS doesn’t seem to have a built-in per-app audio permission like it does for the microphone or camera.

Is there any app, extension, shortcut, or other workaround that can prevent specific apps (e.g. Reddit/Instagram) from producing any sound, while allowing Spotify to keep playing normally?

I am checking it here bcz I need some more ppl to confirm that reddit on iOS has stopped showing animated PFPs and rather it shows them static..

iOS 27 gave us more issues than iOS 26 first off, iPhone 18 Pro Max users are complaining about AT&T networks, and they cannot make or receive calls. They cannot call Emergency Services nor receive Emergency Alerts. Therefore, iOS 27 has a bug that can crash iOS’s Springboard, and even Screen Recorder is lagging so badly even on the best iPhone models or one-year models. Ever since migrating from Android to iOS, I have felt something quite important (to me) that is missing.

On Android you could have alarms set, and within an hour of that alarm, there was a quick toggle in the notifications that would let you skip the upcoming alarm. That is especially effective if you are like me, and need 2 alarms. I am sure it doesn't exist with the default "Clocks" app, but does anything similar exist on iOS?

I had an iPhone 11 a while ago, its power button stopped working after a while and the phone went to recovery mode I couldn't do anything to recover it I tried connecting it to my laptop and do the process as it was mentioned on the apple.com website but nothing happened, I tried to reset it and update it from the iTunes application since these two were the only options present but it would just show me an apple logo and then go back to recovery mode. I changed phones since I got a phone from girlfriend soon after, but now after 2years the same thing is happening with my girlfriends iPad, its an iPad Air 4 and she doesn't remember dropping it or so but the iPad's power button stopped working too and its stuck in recovery mode too so I don't know how to help her as she uses this to take notes and doesn't have another iPad tried connecting it to iTunes application and formatting and updating it but It doesn't seem to work.

Anyone else having 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi problems since updating to iOS 27?

I'm on an iPhone 17 Pro. 5 GHz works fine, but 2.4 GHz randomly stops working. The phone still shows as connected to the SSID, yet there's no internet and no LAN access. When it happens, the phone has an address like 169.254.x.x instead of the usual 192.168.1.x from my router, and the Router field is blank.

I blamed my ASUS router/DHCP setup at first, but another iPhone 17 Pro on the same iOS version works fine on the same network. Connecting to another iPhone's 2.4 GHz hotspot failed too.

Turning Bluetooth off (Settings → Bluetooth) fixes it right away. 2.4 GHz connects and gets a normal IP, and I can turn Bluetooth back on afterward without Wi-Fi breaking again. It has happened several times, and the toggle has worked every time. If you're seeing the same thing, give it a try.

Basically as the title says. I don’t review apps very often, but when I do, they very rarely, if ever, actually post. I have made several reviews of Apple Arcade games over the course of the past year, but the most recent review showing under “ratings & reviews” on my Apple account is from over 1 year ago. My most recent review was A couple months ago, and I took the time to write a thoughtful and thorough review, and it is nowhere to be found. I have decided to start copying and pasting my reviews into the Notes app before (attempting) posting now, that way I can quickly and easily re-try posting the reviews, but obviously, this is not an ideal solution. I understand reviews don’t get posted immediately when the “review sent” message pops up, as they need to be approved first, but, again, my most recent review to actually post was from over a year ago, and I’ve probably done at LEAST 6 reviews within the past year that are just…lost to the ether.

According to my “ratings & reviews”, I’ve posted 20 reviews total over the past 15+ years of having an apple account, which is definitely not even HALF of what I’ve actually posted. (Ironically, it seems that ALL my iTunes Store reviews are there.)

Does anyone know what’s going on or if there is any sort of fix? Google just gives me search results for app developers discussing reviews appearing and disappearing from their app pages, which is not helpfil, obviously.

In Apple Podcasts, I am browsing a show’s episodes and I pick an older episode to play. My expected behavior when that episode ends is for Podcasts to play the next chronological episode, but sometimes (often but not always) it will play the previous episode and then the previous one before that. What’s going on?

Parents and I just got new iPhone 18 Pros and now in our family group chat info, it shows a map with anyone whose location is being shared. Problem is, we don't want our dad to catch on that he can track our locations because he is quite paranoid and we know he'll constantly ask my mom what the kids are doing and where they are and why, etc etc. Is there a way to remove the map from group chat info?

I recently bought an iphone 14 pro and obviously want to use it but cant switch over. The two options for switching from android are with or without the move to ios app (i think). My current samsung a35 doesnt let me get the move to ios app through play store or via .apk even after i grant permissions, it claims its made for an older version of android. The other way without the app requires a compatible phone with android 17, my phone is on android 16. Im stumped on how to figure it out.

i just opened Safari and all of my ca. 130 tabs are gone, i did not tap any button or did do anythin, the thingy with the plus to see closed tabs is NOT working, anyone got a fix some of the tabs were kinda important and bookmarks.

I’ve tried absolutely everything, even resetting my settings, but I still can’t switch it off. I even gave Apple a ring once. When I press the button, it just jumps straight back to green. I’ve noticed quite a few people seem to be having the same trouble. Is anyone else dealing with this? If you know a fix, I’d be really grateful.

I cannot see any profiles banners and the envelope to send chats requests via iOS mobile, ie I cannot send chat requests to profiles with DMs open. Options appear via iPad. Has been at least a week. Restarted/ reinstalled, cleared local history, app is updated version.
Cross posting to see if anyone can assist. Already have some suggestions in r/help but no solutions. I created alt profile and it works on that, don’t want to start again on 0 karma. Thanks

There’s someone I want to remove from having my location but I don’t want them to get an iMessage notification that I stopped sharing location with them, will the remove option do this?
