Discussion Preseason
Watching this Nuggets/Jazz preseason game that they are playing in Boulder and I am missing when the Celtics used to do this. As a Worcesterite I would love if they did a preseason game at the DCU every year like they used to.

Discussion The Payton Pritchard Brunson Theory
Good article I came across. Only doesn't hit two things that I thought were important that I covered in my previous post relating to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/comments/1wqzhma/some_analytics_for_the_upcoming_season_long/
Payton was so much better when Jaylen wasn't on the floor - have a picture on my post
Payton was ridiculous when given high usage this year. I mentioned the numbers in the post as well.
Everything indicates that Payton will be able to scale his game up no problem. I don't think he'll do it like Jalen, as Michael mentions, they have pretty different shot distributions. I would like to see Payton's rim frequency and FTr bump up a bit, but tbd on that. Also the fact that the Celtics are leaking this comparison to the media makes me very confident they want him to be the #2.

Discussion Trade Ideas to Move the Needle Led By: PG13 + Picks for Lauri Markkanen + More
After coming to grips with the fact that Curry is unlikely to ever want out of Golden State, and Jokic may just stick with Denver similarly, these are the trade idea for next offseason that I’ve been able to come up with:
UTA In: PG13 + picks
BOS In: Markkanen
Allows us to move Tatum back to the three. I’ve just got a strong feeling that Markkanen could be a great Robin to JT’s Batman. I may be wrong. Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts.
Secondary ideas to discuss; where I am suspecting only the West will deal with us as it relates to moving on from PG13:
POR In: PG13 + picks
BOS In: Jrue + Time Lord
Running it back with some older guys? Not seeing how this gets us closer to the title though.
PHX In: PG13 + many picks
BOS In: Booker
Is his defense good enough for this squad? It would not be surprising if he forced his way out next offseason, though.
MIN In: PG13 + probably all our picks/swaps
BOS In: Antman + Kuminga to make cap work
This would be a scenario where Antman has a total meltdown and demands out. It would cost us a lot and would require him being very picky about wanting to tag team with JT. It seems unlikely, but this would definitely be the duo that would best position us for title contention the next half decade
HOU In: PG13 + picks
BOS In: KD + Smart
Better late than never with KD? Could be intriguing? A reunion with Smart to make the cap work.
SAS In: PG13
BOS In: Fox
Straight-up swap if the Spurs decide they’ve had enough of Fox’s game. Not a fan of Fox’s game but I can’t see any other deals in the West that would be possible.
Other ideas?

Discussion Is It Just Me or Did it Seem Like D-White’s Shooting Numbers Went Down Because…
…JB kept throwing shot clock grenades at him last year when JB didn’t have a good-look?
Has anybody done a full analysis on this?

Lowlight Joel 'If I Had a Superteam I Would Win Too' Embiid has suddenly changed his tune: "It's hard to put a team together after one year and be like, ‘Go do it.’ It's been done before, but it's going to take everybody to be able to accomplish that goal."
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44txzy6hnVI
Embiid had previously said of Jayson Tatum: "He’s got a superteam. If I had a superteam, I would win too. If I go 5-20, we get blown out.”

News NEW: Thanks to Mike Conley, the Celtics are in a fantasy football league. Paul George and Jayson Tatum are currently in the lead, while the rookies lag behind. “It's good for team bonding. We’re talking trash week by week.”

Discussion Bill Simmons: "Jaylen Brown should not have won Finals MVP. That was ridiculous. One of my things that I would change about the NBA is that more than 5 people should vote on the Finals MVP. You should not be able to win Finals MVP by a 3-2 vote. Have 15 people. You have a million reporters there."

News [Deveney] One anonymous NBA executive explained why he considers Paul George to be a valuable player: "He is not the player he was 10 years ago, but he still has that rare skillset and if a player has that, he's got value. If he has that and he is on a short contract, that's even more value."

News NEW STORY: Jayson Tatum is still glad he returned last to the court last spring, but he's much better now: “I was cleared. But, mentally, and from a conditioning standpoint, I wasn’t myself... I feel so much more confident from a mental standpoint, and physically, than I did last March."

Discussion Payton Pritchard is eligible for a 3 year, $67 million extension starting today
This is going to be interesting I think. I think the Celtics will absolutely offer him this, but I think there's a legit chance he says no and bets on himself. His role is going to be much bigger this year.

Discussion Jordan Walsh is learning the difference between having a role and being a role player
I’ve always thought Walsh was a player where you could see why people were intrigued by him, but the actual role was a little harder to picture.
At this point, I think it’s getting clearer. He probably doesn’t need to become much more of a scorer. But I do think he can get really good at all the stuff that keeps role players on the floor: cutting, screening, defending, making quick decisions, maximizing JT’s abilities, etc. Maybe even more so than some of the other young guys.
Walshy’s always had the tools. Now we get to see if they can actually turn into trust and minutes.

Discussion Queta Names Celtics big man group - ‘Big Fella University’
I like the name, because its clear Queta and Garza both came in and upped their games after joining the Celtics. They were both open minded and willing to grow.
Hopefully Mitchell grows a bit in the mental game, and Cenac and Williams develop too.
