Reminds me of what certain men say about women with bright dyed hair. That they are a signal to stay away like colorful frogs in South America.

As it has been pointed out, the reason those frogs are colorful has nothing to do with dating. It's to ward of predators

1

u/PangaeaDiarrhea 11d ago

And what do those colors signify to predators? That the frog is highly toxic and they'll live longer if they stay away.

8

u/freedomonke 11d ago

Yeah. Cus the men who say that are predators

7

u/ringobob 10d ago

Toxic to predators, not to mates. Try thinking about it. If smoke starts coming out your ears, that's normal, gotta let the brain warm up when it's been dormant for awhile.

1

u/PangaeaDiarrhea 10d ago

Unlike frogs, people are often toxic to their mates, too.

3

u/ringobob 10d ago

I don't think you actually understand the words you're using.

2

u/PangaeaDiarrhea 10d ago

Yeah. I don't understand anything. I'm just an automaton.

2

Bonus points for self awareness... Except... Not... Now my head hurts.

2

u/Anansis_Waltz 9d ago

It says, "I am non-compliant to predation" - in frogs.
Some marks are always easier than others. Human predators look for people that ignore their discomfort when boundaries are pushed or lack assertiveness or value being part of a collective more than themselves.

WHAT I ACTUALLY FIND FASCINATING about rebellious markers of "woman bad", is that they tend to follow Punk Rock trends. Anti-establishment music has led the way in fashion and rebellion to an extent that shouldn't be overlooked! Including the septum piercing, it was a rocker thing first.

u/harmfulsideffect 11d ago

By displaying toxicity…

15

u/freedomonke 11d ago

They aren't toxic to the frogs that fuck em

So why are you bringing it up? Isn’t that what this is about? Simple fact is it displays toxicity. Just like in humans. If you want to ā€œwinā€ this argument, you’re going to have to block this account too. Maybe I’ll block you first.

They're toxic to predators, not mates. The only reason the toxin would affect you is if you're a predator. Not that hard to grasp.

You could always play dead or eat the inferior male.

Alright. I need the book/movie now. Forget "Black Widow killers". I want a story about a tarantula/praying mantis serial killer whose victims are ALL men who tried romancing her and wouldn't take no for an answer, so she ends up killing and eating them.

If a guy tries to rape a girl, the girl can shoot them in self defense. They are not limited to, ā€œsmiling uncomfortably.ā€ Not sure where you got that from

2

u/IneedAJob- 10d ago

Women get jailed with longer sentences then the male predators when they do that. Not sure where you got that from

2

u/VictoryFirst8421 10d ago

If you’re defending yourself from lethal force, such as being held down with threat of death, you can respond with lethal force. Basic self defense. Maybe you’re from an odd country or something, idk.

1

u/IneedAJob- 10d ago

No you will be jailed- united states

2

u/VictoryFirst8421 10d ago

Are you referring to like if they raped you and then like a day later- with no threat- you went and killed them? Cause, yeah, once the threat is over you aren’t allowed to (but you can call 911 and get them arrested.) But, if you are saying that a women who is being raped and is being threatened with death simply had a gun and shot them (while the person is threatening to kill them), you are just making stuff up. That is not true. You are allowed to defend yourself if there is threat of death or serious bodily injury- regardless of gender.

3

u/IneedAJob- 9d ago

3

u/VictoryFirst8421 9d ago

This has uhhhh..... nothing to do with our conversation? Plus, ALL of these are from New York, and it's getting close to a DECADE ago that they changed their laws to give much more ability for self-defense in domestic violence cases. You're about seven years late, lil bro. We were discussing rape, not physical assault- those are different. Tanisha Davis was undeniably an unfair case. Not sure, maybe you haven't even looked into these cases, but that was a case where she was sentenced primarily due to racism, not sexism. The prosecutor called her a, "Hood Diva," and said it is, "their culture." Literally disgusting, but a case like these can't happen anymore, due to them changing their law. Maybe we should be asking why New York has such restrictive use of lethal force in self defense?

1

u/BaconPancake77 9d ago

News flash, the law as written matters a lot less than the law as executed. You might live in a world where women will face no scrutiny for shooting attempted rapists, but that world is not reality, and never has been.

2

u/VictoryFirst8421 9d ago

People always praise and hail when a rapist is shot and/or arrested. People literally hate rapists.

-1

u/V3nusi4nruled 8d ago

lol this guy thinks cops will care if a woman is raped and then shoots her attacker in self defense. they will still arrest her dude

1

u/VictoryFirst8421 8d ago

Obviously a cop is going to bring someone in to the place for questioning. That is the case regardless of the gender. If a guy shoots a woman in self-defense the cops are going to bring him to the station. Cops do NOT have the ability to send someone to prison on their own. Cops also usually don’t have the ability to clear a case on their own. Usually you have to go to court to speak your case and have it dropped. Commonly in front of a grand jury

0

u/V3nusi4nruled 8d ago

yes and cops will not care lol. the woman has to prove she has been raped, and a lot of times cops will not take that serious. her just saying ā€œhe raped me so i shot himā€ won’t do anything unless she has proof, and what if she doesn’t?

0

u/ER_Jujube 7d ago

While I do agree that in general, police officers do not take accusations of sexual assault seriously, I also think you're showing how uneducated you are when you're out here clearly confusing the roles of Police and Court.

0

u/V3nusi4nruled 7d ago

all im saying is cops generally do not take rape allegations serious. idk where you got that i’m confusing the roles of the court and the police lmfao

1

u/ER_Jujube 7d ago

It's not the police you need to prove things to, it's the justice system/court. If the police actually does it's job of registering your allegations against the other person, that is. Which, we agree, is hard to achieve in itself.

0

u/V3nusi4nruled 6d ago

yeah…………i’m aware of how the justice system works dude. you don’t need to explain it to me lol

Well, there is the entire legal system. Not 100% effective, but a much better deterrent than smiling uncomfortably. That is, if you're lucky enough to live in a country that hasn't married you off by 12.

8

u/IneedAJob- 11d ago

Yeah i see men who harass women getting legal consequences daily

8

u/M0ebius_1 11d ago

You can get a lot of harassment done that flies just under the radar of being illegal.

13

u/2Blueify 11d ago

The legal system is enforced by men.

2

u/Meatbot-v20 10d ago edited 10d ago

Everything is enforced by men. Because women can't enforce anything. Not saying that to be mean, it's just an objective truth.

1

u/Electronic_South_101 11d ago

Given how many times the legal system is enforced…. I dunno. Sex crimes are a joke here. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s better than it was like, a century ago, but it’s still not good. So many sex pests get a slap on the wrist at best, and that’s if the victim is taken seriously.

(Am I speaking from experience? Whatever gave you that idea?)

1

u/Meatbot-v20 10d ago

Sure. My point is that, without any legal system, human history was just tens of thousands of years of families selling young girls into marriage.

That says nothing about whether or not the system can be improved. I don't think I've ever been sex-pested, but I have had a girl yank my pants off and go to town without asking.

And I'm somewhere in the aro/ace/demi part of the spectrum, so it's not like I was asking for it. I just felt like it would be weird if I said "no". These things happen.

But at least it happens less often than it ever has in human history. Well. In some parts of the world, anyhow.

1

u/BaconPancake77 9d ago

Bro, these things do NOT just happen, what the hell... Sorry to say it, but you most definitely got 'sex-pested' if that's the word you want to use for that interaction.

1

u/Meatbot-v20 9d ago edited 9d ago

Just because I don't make a big deal about it doesn't mean it's okay or anything. So I get it. But it's not like someone stabbed me. Subjectively speaking, it's not even a blip on the radar of worst things that have happened to me. It was awkward and I'd rather it hadn't happened, but it's only as big a deal as I let it be.

As a guy, we kind of grow up with the comedy trope of regrettable / nonconsensual sex. Like, every college humor movie, the drunk protagonist wakes up in someone's bed and doesn't know how he got there. Haw haw haw. Hollywood says it's funny when it happens to guys. So I guess I just don't have to spend a lot of emotional bandwidth on it.

-1

u/Truefiction224 11d ago

Human women are closer in strength to human men than any mamals in the animal kingdom are relatively.

Its always been a manipulation. Read dune. Its the bene jesserit shit.

Women can and do kill men. Its very easy with weapons. If you think female chimps kill male chimps ever youre wrong.Ā

That is a lie they tell to secure a more favorable social position. Women just forgot about the ancient con Ā

1

u/Tablesafety 11d ago edited 11d ago

6% that's how much stronger the average man is than the average woman. In a straight on melee range fight without the element of surprise, she loses outright. He is faster, harder to genuinely injure, and has more reach on average. So notable is this difference that if he keeps going after she backs off or lands a blow in the wrong spot, he can accidentally kill her. Generally to achieve the same results that has to be intentional on her end.

Were the gap as close as you are trying to say it is, we would have a LOT more men accidentally murdered in an instance of domestic violence and self defense. Weapons outside of melee range or the element of surprise equalizes the playing field, but then you have a whole other issue in that killing someone even in self defense is a lot of legal trouble- and a lot of self defense isn't seen as such.

In events of harassment wherein things fly just under the legal radar, the best you can get away with is pepper spraying a bastard and hoping it's not assault in the relevant jurisdiction. If you swing at him, all you're gonna get is a chance to die unless there are other people around who would be willing to step in and help defend you should he escalate.

Because murder isn't acceptable and there is no real way to just fight it out safely, there are no real options that I have found so far to suitably and mortally-safely introduce an aversive to deter those who harass and skirt the line.

Edit: typo

2

u/BethanyBluebird 11d ago edited 11d ago

This is just straight up misinformation... On average men have about 40 to 60% more upper body strength than women, and about 20% more lower body strength. That is nowhere near 6x. That's 0.5x stronger, on average. According to you, if a woman has 100 points in strength on average that means men have 600 points.. this is false. I'm reality it's closer to women having 100 points on average and men having 150.

Humans are less sexually dimorphic than dogs, and a large amount of that gap can be attributed to women eating less on average because we are encouraged to starve ourselves to stay small, and not participating in more active/high impact sports because, again, it's discouraged. More men aren't murdered in domestic violence incidents because women who are abusive have generally been conditioned to avoid physical violence and be abusive in less overt ways- financially, psychologically, emotionally, etc.

1

u/Tablesafety 11d ago

You made me reread and realize I had made a typo, I meant to write 6 percent not 6 times thanks. I always mix the two up like left and right.

Doesn’t change anything I said though- the difference of 6% is still substantial

Women are conditioned to avoid physical violence bc of the likelihood of getting our shit rocked unfo

2

u/Multiple__Butts 11d ago

Huh? A 6% strength difference is practically nothing. You wouldn't even be able to tell you were stronger than somebody that you are 6% stronger than. There's no way it's that low.

The fact that consent is such a hard concept for some individuals... I fully support any and all consequences.

Wanna act like an animal be prepared to be treated like one.

0

u/Yearn4Mecha 11d ago

Do we know it it is a nurture/nature thing? I feel like it could be both and either option makes me sad about how I interpret it.

8

u/hyphenssuck 11d ago

I can assure you, as someone who was "raised to be a certain way" but didn't turn out as intended... There is no nature vs nurture argument to be had in terms of these types.

My views (concerningly) may be considered extreme by some, but...

If an adult human can't manage their behavior in this most basic capacity, abiding by the concept of consent, they should not be given the same consideration. Making excuses for this behavior needs to end.

4

u/SaltySelkie217 11d ago

Exactly so. My personal theory is that it starts with misguided, hamhanded religious doctrination from infancy. You can f up in any way imaginable, but the skydaddy will forgive you so it's "all good" .

3

u/hyphenssuck 11d ago

There's also the underlying misogyny... Which in many cases also ties back to "skydaddy". But that's a whole separate conversation.

2

u/SaltySelkie217 11d ago

Agreed. The "My phallus sword means I am powerful and am designed to dominate" crew are equating superiority to ...basically putting a shape puzzle piece in the correct spot. It's no indicator of superiority.

1

u/Tablesafety 11d ago

Most of the time it is in fact nurture. Some of the time it is in fact nature. That is to say, most of those guys that feel entitled to sex and what they feel is necessary to get it due to how society has framed sex and their relationships with masculinity and themselves. The sex pest stuff is mostly porn and nurture for the vast majority, but as long as what is normal and acceptable does not change they will not either.

Then for some, rarer folks it is nature. Temperament is heritable, we know that the offspring of a violent rapist is more likely to be unstable themselves (not guaranteed!) even without the offending parent in their life. Human beings are mostly nurture, though. Our intelligence allows us to understand and circumvent our own impulses, if we want to. We gotta want to, though.

Have you heard about the troop of bonobos that had some very toxic alpha males not unlike chimps? I think it was Bonobos. They led the troop and generally were impulsive, violent, competitive, and unpleasant. They all died at once when they insisted on eating some garbage they competed with each other over that the females and subadult males of the troop did not eat (bc it was THEIRS iirc)

Once all the toxic alpha males died out, the older adolescent males began to mimick their behavior and the adult females nipped it in the bud very quickly and punished them while they still physically could. They straightened up and from there, the babies of either sex born from then on did not display the assholish problematic behavior. Last I checked that troop still lives in peace. In great apes, its mostly learned.

All it takes is some assholes who force their views on the population under them and throw their weight around taking over one time and it is self-perpetuating. Might makes right and if someone who has might doesn't fight for what is objectively right, those more nefarious set norms that become societal expectations.

All it would take to ruin those bonobos peace is for a troop of enough of those old kind of males to just come and physically threaten them all into submission again, and there would be native males to get in on it due to the social benefits.

reminder that the beauty standard for women being thin and dainty is designed to discourage women from working out and building strength to defend themselves against men. all the girlies need to be strength training šŸ’Ŗ

1

u/Melanoc3tus 10d ago

I don't think that's true. Beauty standards vary a bunch over time, ascribing some timeless reason like that to them doesn't work. Also, IIRC strength training wouldn't help that much since female athletes are still weaker than the male average.

1

u/Dry_Shoe1307 8d ago

"female athletes are still weaker than the male average."

maybe at a d2 college athlete level, but throw an "average male" into a female UFC fight....he'll get killed

1

u/Melanoc3tus 8d ago

Strength isn't the only factor in combat yeah; it's generally quite important but that varies by context.

So back to the topic, strength training alone doesn't seem very promising — there are pretty innate biological aspects to that disparity, which are what the sexist tropes are taking inspiration from; if those expectations were removed (which I support) then the problem would remain.

We could speculate that a culture where martial arts was a widely popular women's pastime and generally unpopular among men might address this more.

However I think a culture where the threats women would want to defend themselves against were less normalized would be as or more achievable, and better.

1

u/Dry_Shoe1307 8d ago

as a woman i've used pepper spray to defend myself in the past and it's worked. i also own a glock (never needed it fortunately). my (male) cousin owns a BJJ academy and he says that the trained women can submit many of the lower ranking men, and that it works for self defense against untrained men. he's a black belt now but when he was training he did get submitted and tapped by women

1

u/Melanoc3tus 8d ago

We agree on all of that. But, I'd sayĀ  militarizing society isn't necessarily the best outcome. The solution to violent crime is better social norms, economic policy, and state regulation, not privately imported AKs — similarly in the context of sexual assault, regardless of gender, we should make this a matter of social convention and state intervention rather than a private physical competition which men have a biological and institutional lead in.

1

u/Fickle-Strike-714 8d ago

The thing is in BJJ I'm pretty sure you can't strike. In a real altercation you can stack the odds against an opponent, but there's always windows of opportunity for a man to overpower a trained woman. Even a male champion fighter in a lighter weight division vs a heavier man with only strength training would absolutely have certain positions where raw strength would overpower technique

I think ā€œgiving upā€ is a mischaracterization and misapprehension of what is going on.Ā

I mean its not far off. They just stop eating and stop looking after themselves, they stop trying to live basically. That includes the males, so its not like they're just doing it to protect their eggs. They have a biological kill switch built into them that's triggered after they mate.

It’s funny, the collection of PhDs didn’t arrive at that conclusion.Ā

You can’t swing a cat in a comment section without hitting someone who knows more than a principal investigator doing on sight work and the associated research.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Except that they did come to that conclusion. Its called senescence, its triggered by hormonal changes in their optic gland. Its the reason octopus only reproduce once in their lives.

Look it up, its not like its some sort of hidden knowledge or anything.

Yes, I know that, but that’s not the entirety of what was discussed by the PIs

Is murder drastic? Unhinged? Violent? MAyBe.

But does it solves your immediate problems? That's the more important question in OP's opinion.

So, if you'll ever have unwanted attention - consider violence and murder!

There's nothing wrong with killing a rapist as an act of self-defense.

There's nothing right about using fallacies and poor analogies to promote violence.

1

u/MoreDoor2915 8d ago

Technically speaking there is something wrong with killing a rapist as an act of self-defense. Self-defense only allows necessary force, so unless the guy still goes on after all none murder options were used its considered unnecessary force. Though you if you can prove you did it in self defense (or live in a place on earth where gunning someone down is allowed in self-defense) then most likely you wont be treated the same way a regular murderer would

u/No_Order_8011 8d ago

I'm not a lawyer, if you want to debate about it. In my understanding, a scared and shocked woman doesn't think strategically nor can she carefully measure the force necessary to stop the rapist, and adequate laws/judge/jury should account for that.Ā

From moral point of view, I won't cry about any person who have tried to rape a woman. That is a sick antisocial behaviour, very unlikely to be truly corrected.

just wait til you learn about hyenas!

While I appreciate the sentiment, the last thing women should want is for people to look towards the animal kingdom for ideas on how to treat members of the opposite sex.

The nature of our sexual dimorphism puts them at a large disadvantage.

The front legs on a mantis is call raptorials and shares a root with dino raptors and bird raptors

2

u/plyer_G 11d ago

Hey, that mantis one is misinformation, they have found that they only eat their mates(specifically the head) when highly stressed, it's not a default response

1

u/DealerMuted1536 11d ago

Most information on bugs is misinformation as most of the behavior we see from them is when they're in captivity. All animals act differently in captivity.

And If I do it, its canibalism and bad? šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

2

u/Cuddles89 11d ago

Apparently this is what it takes. We gotta step up our game girls

u/Jacky_dain 11d ago

Wouldn’t blame ya’ll honestly

2

u/veryexpensivegas 11d ago

It’s also crazy that most of these species would be extinct if males didn’t have a strong sex drive

3

u/TheBraveButJoke 10d ago

stop fucking antropomorfying animals. It doesn't help a point that should be able to stand on its fucking own.

You are just mudying the watter with misinformation about animal behaviour.

Idk if taking animal kingdom as an example is valid, there are some species where tha male has an harem or where the male kills the babies of other males just so the female ovulates again. Also many examples here are of insects that are not famous for delicacy or ethics, you do not want to make a point, you are just angry at some man in your life.

But idk.

1

u/Maleficent-War-8429 7d ago

Considering the females in a lot of these examples are much larger and stronger than the males I'm not quite sure its message you think you're giving.

I'm pretty sure you don't want to promote the idea of the larger sex violently mauling/eating the smaller sex whenever they feel like it.

Now stop asking ā€œwhere have all the good men gone?ā€ They’re the ones steering clear.

1

u/freddbare 5d ago

Where did all the good guys go?

1

u/StaendutBlakk 4d ago

Given the fact that octopuses have been known to punch fish who annoy them, this doesn't relly surprising.

1

u/Doobiius 10d ago

lol this could be interesting if you expand it to other animals.

For my next relationship I shall move in on that single mom with 3 kids like a lion and kill her cubs off and then proceed to make my own the male mallard way. What? Its only nature and it's highly effective for them.

1

u/Vivians_Basement 9d ago

Let's not talk about lioness...

a lioness bites the balls of the lion when she wants to mate as a way to coerce him into breeding her. The male often tries to move away by the female doesn't allow it. As we all know, this is sexual assault. SA in the Animal Kingdom has never been just Male on Female and it's the same case for SA in humans.

It is impossible for a male praying mantis to ejaculate with its head intact. They do it anyway. It's not a thought process that you could sum up with a cutesy comic. To "relate" to the instinctual behavior of insects says nothing about the insects involved, it's just role playing for humans
