Support Megathread - May 2026
Have a question you need answered? A new Google product you want to talk about? Ask away here!
Recently, we at r/Google have noticed a large number of support questions being asked. For a long time, we’ve removed these posts and directed the users to other subreddits, like r/techsupport. However, we feel that users should be able to ask their Google-related questions here. These monthly threads serve as a hub for all of the support you need, as well as discussion about any Google products.
Please note! Top level comments must be related to the topics discussed above. Any comments made off-topic will be removed at the discretion of the Moderator team.
Discord Server We have made a Discord Server for more in-depth discussions relating to Google and for quicker response to tech support questions.

Why when I'll search 24 May 2013 showtimes, it'll not appear on Google? Not even Yesterday! But when I'll search today's showtimes or Tommorow showtimes, it'll appear.

This is literally just anti-APK propaganda
Isn't it convenient that they started running these around the time they started blocking APKs? And how you can't skip the ads no matter what? Google thinks we're too stupid to install apps from anywhere else other than the totally safe and virus free Play Store 🤦♂️
(The "Download Apps, Not Traps" ads for those wondering)

Google Gemini Android figure
My boyfriend is a massive Google fan and knows a lot regarding pretty much anything Google related. I, however don’t know anything at all, only information he has told me. I stumbled across a Blue/Red Google Gemini Android variant by Dead Zebra(?) that is supposedly rare, but again I don’t know much about Google related items. Does any Google fans out there know if this is rare and or a good gift for a Google fan? Just trying to be a good girlfriend, thank you.
(Apologies if I’ve submitted this in the wrong subreddit or have read the rules incorrectly, I reinstalled mainly to ask this.)

Android 17 forces Google search bar onto home page
Got the update yesterday and was surprised by this "feature". I don't use Google search to avoid tracking, so I'm annoyed by this. It seems immovable and unremovable. Any options here?

Google store coming soon to Houston soon.
I was just at the galleria mall here in Houston and saw they have a Google store under construction. Finally they get one here, I've only been to one physical google store location and that was in Santa Monica, CA. I know they have them in big cities like NYC, Boston and I think Chicago. Hopefully they build more so people won't have to order online all the time and hope their package isn't an empty box.

Free Gemini limited to oldest Flash-Lite model
SERIOUSLY this is somekind of bad joke.
I CANNOT WAIT when European Union sort this out with Google (Android) to give us choice of default AI - this will TEACH google to stop being greedy!

They are starting to phase out Assistant in favor of Gemini
I had an unpleasant surprise when I found out I no longer could switch back to Google Assistant when Google randomly decided to switch to Gemini. I tried downgrading the Google app but I think it's a server side change as after a few hours it's back to Gemini only even on the older app version.

I think google is trying to force me to buy storage
I've deep cleaned my phone and it is almost completely empty of emails and large files, yet it still says I'm at the limit and going to lose my ability to send/recieve emails at the end of the month??? I have deleted so many emails photos and videos but it still shows the same 14.96 used. It says I have 26 mb of drive files but shows nothing when I open it, its shows photos and videos I have already deleted over and over. Im so confused and just overall fed up.

Upcoming changes to Gemini model access starting October 9th
support.google.comStarting in October 2026, Google is changing the model availability for Gemini Apps on personal accounts. If you don't have an AI subscription, these changes will take effect on October 9th. If you are subscribed to AI Plus, you will get an email explaining when the changes will apply to your account.
Here is what the model availability will look like: Users without a plan will only get access to Flash Lite.
AI Plus subscribers will have access to Flash Lite and Flash.
AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers will have access to Flash Lite, Flash, and Pro.
For each available model, you can select the effort level from low, medium, and high. This increases the model's ability to provide more thorough answers, but it will use more of your limit.
If you have an AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription, you will also have access to the Deep Think option for maximum parallel reasoning.
I'm Dua Lipa now.

Google Maps' street view is now Dua Lipa, for some weird promotion: https://goo.gle/dua
Really wish Google would stop messing with tools, as vital as Maps, for the sake of promotions and advertising.
