Question What the hell is this?
I clicked on a video, went to captions, and saw this. All it says is "hands" for the entire video. I find this strange and funny at the same time.

I’ve been watching YouTube since 2006 and if I watch something on my phone through the app literally every video is peppered with ads. It was the case that you watched ads and then the video played but now you even have multiple ads inside the video. When I do Picture in Picture on my phone and I swipe the video to the side it stops playing. I understand they have to pay bills somehow but it didn’t use to be like this.

It keeps flashing the duration and 0 seconds in the video timeline, while spamming this "Experiencing interruptions" box over and over again without stopping

Title. I get spammed every day by about 10 notifs from youtube that X people liked my comments. I don't care. No one does. But if I disable the notification, it disables comment reply notifications too.

I'm putting up a "Callout" flair because while nobody on YouTube or elsewhere has really talked about it, this is a situation I believe deserves discussion. So here goes:
Bob Jennings (better known online as Bobjenz) is a semi-popular YouTuber and voice actor best known for his roles on Annoying Orange (and by extension, The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange), voicing series mainstay Grapefruit, as well as supporting characters Liam the Leprechaun, Zombie George Washington, Copper Lincoln and too many others to list, from 2010 to 2021, after which he departed from the series, allegedly due to a pay dispute with Dane Boedigheimer (better known online as Daneboe), the creator and head writer of the show.
Since then, he's largely gone under the radar as an Internet figure, until just a month ago, when people on Reddit (specifically r/YouTubeThumbs and r/chazington) started calling him out for...unsavory things. Specifically, he's been caught reposting horrendously bigoted, pro-Trump rhetoric on his Twitter account (which he's been doing since at least 2025), has said things about transgender people that are questionable at best and outright transphobic at worst (side note: Daneboe came out as trans in 2023, which adds an extra level of irony to the fact that they worked together for so long), and is an AI-bro (multiple of his videos have entirely AI-generated scenes [at least one of which has an AI song at the end], the banner and pfp are now generated slop, and some of his community posts count as well).
So yeah. Goes without saying that he's not a very good dude. You can read posts about this mess here, here, here, here

Glitch I encountered when trying to purchase a movie on YouTube. Searched "Uncut Gems" and the thumbnail occurs to be correct, but after purchasing I noticed the title was for "diamond in the rough". Gonna try to get a refund

So while I was watching youtube this "Derrick Thompson" ad appeared and I got freaked out cuz the image is super creepy and the audio sounds like someone giving a speech and it's in extreme low quality and mentioned something like happiness, russia, smile, hate, god, and someone "succeeding" him. Also there's a really weird music playing in the background the whole time and the image hasn't changed throughout the entire video. What the heck is this? This feels like a cult to me.

So I speak multiple languages—Chinese, Japanese, and English—and YouTube automatically translating video titles has always annoyed me. If I can read the original language, I obviously want to see the original title, not some crappy automatic translation.
But I always assumed the feature was at least useful for people who don't understand the original language.
Apparently, I was wrong.
I was doing some research today and needed to find Korean videos on a specific topic. I tried searching for it in several languages, but YouTube wouldn't show me the Korean videos I was looking for.
Eventually, I had to use Google Translate to figure out how to write the search terms in Korean. I searched YouTube using the Korean text, and suddenly I found exactly the Korean video I wanted.
Here's the ridiculous part:
When I clicked on the video, YouTube automatically translated the Korean title into English.
So I copied/searched the English title that YouTube itself had translated it into... and YouTube couldn't find the same video.
What exactly is the point of this feature?
If I know Korean, I don't need YouTube translating the title for me. In fact, I'd probably rather see the original because I already know how questionable YouTube's translations can be—I can see it myself with Japanese and Chinese.
If I don't know Korean, the translation doesn't actually help me discover the video either, because I still need to know what to type in Korean before YouTube will show it to me!
So somehow we get the worst of both worlds:
YouTube hides the original title from people who can actually read it, while the translated title doesn't necessarily make the video searchable for people who can't.
And to make it even more annoying, YouTube doesn't just give us a simple option like: "Never translate Chinese/Japanese/Korean titles."
Even Google Translate on websites lets you choose languages that you don't want translated.
I seriously don't understand who this feature is supposed to help.

i effing hate this ad so much i am going to lose my mind i hate the ai voice i hate the graphics i hate that it’s conveniently 5 seconds long so i cant skip it and theres always a 2nd ad right after it. i have blocked every single one of these and then a new one gets shown to me. this app is effing stupid and dumb and i don’t want it. i can’t even go 3 minutes into a video anymore without getting a double ad and they aren’t skipable. the ads in general are ridiculous and it’s also the fact that youtube is giving me the same 5 slop ads over and over and over and over and over again. youtube is in the gutter. i hope this app mewodoku fails. and NO i don’t want to PAY youtube to watch without ads. ur a national company you aren’t broke why r u acting like u survive on ads and we have to pay you a subscription to watch videos that other people post. im so annoyed

I have an android tablet and the YouTube app. Suddenly by sidebar is gone and as I scroll thumbnails randomly blow up to take over the entire screen.
Is this an occasional bug? I see people periodically talking about similar issues but months or years ago?
Please dont tell me it a UI change. I cant see any news of updated 'features'.

I'm tired of being fed content from their algorithms that I don't care about or is trying to get me to into certain things like politics.
Do you know of any good content clearing apps?
I remember someone telling me they use an extension redirect you to the subscriptions page. Do you know of it and any others like that?
Thanks!
