We run a small tactical gear shop and focus mainly on premium, high-performance products that we can confidently stand behind. We're considering adding the Wuben G5 light, but before doing so I'd like to hear some real-world feedback from people who have actually used it.

I've heard that the G5 is quite popular, including among some military users — not as officially issued equipment, but as a personal EDC light. I'm especially interested in that perspective.

How is it regarded in practice?

• Is it reliable enough for regular/heavy use?
• Any common failures or weak points?
• How does it hold up over time?
• If you've used it in the military, law enforcement or a similar environment, how did it perform?

We're quite careful about what we choose to sell and don't want to add products that look good on paper but turn out to be unreliable.

So the main question: does the Wuben G5 actually live up to its reputation, and would you recommend selling it?

The setup is handy enough, but it keeps poking me in my pocket.
I found out I don't really need to carry the whole thing.
A quarter would be enough to last me all day.
So I made a smaller case for it.

ok gearheads... First world problems: too many (terrible) flashlight choices. amazon is full of suspicious, silly little lights. Specifically, i'm looking for a good headlamp. i'd like it to have a long battery life, a red light setting, and an on/off button that doesnt make you cycle through all the modes OR press and hold it for an awkward amount of time just to get it to turn off. If yall can suggest something, I'd greatly appreesh. TIA

Nothing special but it’s been very useful lately. Before you say it… yes there are 4 knife blades in this kit and multiple bit drivers… no I will not remove any of them. Mainly use it for putting together baby toys, opening packages and as a grab and go tool bag for trail riding on my DRZ400.

My wife's birthday is coming up and she's hoping for a new wallet. She sent me this one from Etsy which looks like it might be a Chinese bulk online store with the initials A E special because a few other stores carry it or something very similar.

She carries her wallet in her purse, which is not very big. She is not interested in something like the Open Sea Leather Topsider which I use. Any suggestions for something with a similar design to the linked wallet but better quality are appreciated.

EDIT: She wants something that fits bills full length, not something that they have to be folded before they go into the wallet.

So my buddies give me shit sometimes. Im trained just enough to pass a Combat Lifesaver course. All that means is I know pressure, elevate, pressure, QuikClot bandages, tourniquet, sucking chest wound etiquette and I’m not that bad of a seamster if I have to. That being said…

I live in one of the larger cities in the USA. Im not out in the bush camping but so often outta the year. So most incidents happen within a minutes/seconds rather than 10’s/minutes. I say your average zip tie is more effective and easier to put on as a tourniquet than the real thing. I can argue that getting it on quick and pinched in saves a noticeable amount of life than the average joe and a tourniquet. Lemme hear your thoughts. My mind can be changed. I just think at how fast medics come and the medical facilities in area make it a much more viable option. Whats says you?

Went lightweight today. Kershaw Leek, Victorinox Rambler, and Maglite Solitaire led. Had a streamlight pocket mate but the case broke apart and revealed a spicy pillow battery. For $10 the Maglite has been a great replacement.
