New rules regarding political posts - Read This
While the rules are being updated, let me give everyone a sneak peek, it will be very simple:
*No NON 80s era political posts or commentary will be allowed, and those who do so are subject to ban.
This is a non-partisan rule.
If you can’t enjoy an 80s nostalgia sub without needing to express your opinion about current politics, then this is NOT the right sub for you.
Anything political from the 80s is fine. Use your best judgment. Songs from the 80s with political themes are fine, etc. (Mods discretion)
This begins as of now.
*If you feel you were banned in error, send a modmail and we will help.
Be excellent to each other!

Music The 80s Is One Of The Best Decades For Music Hands Down And I'm A Millennial Saying This
I was born in the late 80s and started getting heavily into 80s music and pop culture during the late 2010s and 2020s. I have discovered so many music gems from R&B, Funk, Yacht Rock, New Wave, Synth Pop, Country, Quiet Storm, etc...you name it! I don't just listen to the mainstream artists either; some of the more underrated artists put out music just as good. While the 80s heavily uses synthesizers I feel the music creators were very talented. Take Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for instance. They are the best producers in the game in my opinion. I think there was something for everyone musically in the 80s. I know the decade gets criticism online from some people in regards to the music but yet you look up an 80s song and see it has over a BILLION streams. I notice a lot of Gen Z like the 80s music scene as well.
Guess I'm just an old soul. 😌

One of my most recent obsessions is Cry Little Sister from The Lost Boys movie. Freaking awesome song and movie! 😍

Roxy Music - Avalon (4K Remaster). why was it a thing in the 80s to look at the camera and be expressionless? what started this trend? i love it!
Finally got a Walkman sport!!!
Superrrr interested to hear what people who grew up around the mid 80s or were young adults though of the sport walkmans. Did you already have a Walkman? Did you get this one and keep your old one? What was it like? Was it groundbreaking or more of a novelty?

Film Stay Puft Is The Definitive Goat!! (From Ghostbusters)
galleryThe Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is one of my favorite designs & is genuinely one of the best practical effects that still hold up to this day.
I really like that he goes from being happy to looking evil. The way he slowly moves around & how his eyes look back & forth. His marshmallow can also be slightly roasted or burnt.
He's a very powerful joke Kaiju despite his fun appearance. Its controlled by a deity with few ways of defeat, he can even take small pieces of himself & make mini fire-breathing minions.
