Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!
That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.
Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!
You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!
Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.
Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

Happy twentieth anniversary to the classic episode. 👴
Ever since the war within they've committed to their "super fast 8 week content" bullshit and it's starting to get really tiring. Siren isle? just a recycled island expedition. Nightfall? legion invasions. Void assaults? legion invasions and less than half of a delve. heroic world tier? increased aggro range and hp on recycled legion worlds. next patch? legion invasions, again.
The worst part about these isn't even that it's the same type of content over and over, it's that they aren't even worth doing for alts anymore. It only takes like 3 weeks of delves in a season (we're about to be at week 8) to get hero track gear to show up on a vendor at the end. Almost every time they add one of these little garbage events you get free champion gear (which is already free, ESPECIALLY this season) and maybe 1 hero piece a week. What about cosmetics? All recolors and maybe a shitty purple filter if you're lucky. Out of all of the invasions they've added recently you can just afk in them too, making them a slog to complete if you're actually playing since speed the bar fills up is based on how many people are in the area. Nobody except the most hardcore collectors are doing this low effort content after the first week unless you have 500 alts and REALLY hate delves.
So i have to ask, what's the point? Why do we keep adding this stuff when it's clear that no effort goes into it and nobody actively playing gets anything from it? I'd rather go back to 12-16 week waits for "decent" content than another world event where i fill a bar for a recolored mount every 2 months

Hey y'all, I collect ghostly/spectral pets on my hunter. I've been playing the class since about TBC so I'm really familiar with most rare pets.
However, I just saw this BM hunter in Silvermoon with two dream bears, and I can't seem to figure out if these are actually secretly tameable or not.
They have the sheen of the dream-infused mounts and companions from the emerald dream, but I don't see any kind of tameable models listed on petopia. The closest model is the Loaknit alpha from the abundance den, but the color is slightly off.
Is this a situation where the player got lucky before they patched it (like with the Grimtotem Spirit Guide?) Or something else?
UPDATE: The bear is Vision of the Matriarch, apparently from the Eversong quest "The Dark Part of the Woods." I tried doing the quest multiple times but the NPC is friendly and untameable the entire time. Anyone have any insight as to how this hunter may have tamed it, on the very slim chance other folks can get her?

A thought I had for a long time was Tess Greymane (I figured they’d do a split inheritance where one child becomes the ruler of Stormwind and the other the ruler of Gilneas), but now that Tess is officially the Queen of Gilneas thanks to Genn abdicating the throne and the Gilneans reclaiming their kingdom, I don’t think such a match is likely anymore. Admittedly Anduin’s got a lot larger priorities on his mind right now, but if we ever see it happening (assuming they don’t just introduce a new character), who could it be?

I enjoy tanking I dont mind being in front and keeping the agro in check and everything but fuck me if I dont get all turned around if im not paying attention then you'll have folk pissed at you for going the wrong way and because people on here wont chill out about it I stick with dps anyone else have that problem
Season 1: multiple BIS trinkets from earlier bosses, some BIS trinkets in m+, shorter mini raids (chimmy + sporefall), no 9/6 BS, great vault is relevant, bonus rolls feel good
Season 2: exclusive 9/6 FOMO gear, last two bosses have giga bis everything, raid or quit, m+ is useless after 2 weeks, m+ has no good trinkets, bonus roll cringe
I just don’t understand how they managed to make essentially everything worse gearing wise in the span of 1 season
Season 1 was one of the best seasons for me gearing wise. Time gating felt good, could target farm pieces, alt friendly because split raids, bonus rolls helped. This season genuinely feels horrible in comparison.

I’d like to share with you my work, which I sculpted by hand from polymer clay (Super Sculpey) without using 3D technologies!
The height of the figurine is about 45 cm or 17.5 inches.
The painting was done with acrylic paints.
The prototype was a game character — the Undead Death Knight.

20 years ago I committed fraud on WoW.
There is a wrapping paper item that allows you to wrap non stackable items as a present. Sending someone a Christmas present!
Well, when I was a kid I was on a family vacation, naturally instead of being by the pool I was in the one area with wifi playing WoW on my laptop. I decided to make some money.
On my level 20 mage I bought a bunch of Blacksmiths hammers and wrapped them up. I then /who’ed everyone in Stormwind who was level 60. I sent them the present, CoD for a gold, saying that there was a raffle going on. In the message was a list of a large variety of items you could win. Freezing Bands, Edgemaster Handguards, Titanium Leggings, you name it. For 1 gold you had a chance of getting some of the best BoE’s!
But there were no BoE’s, it was all Blacksmith Hammers.
For a pre-teen who never got a character past level 40 back then, the amount of gold I made was astronomical. Along with the amount of tells asking me what this was.
“It’s a random giveaway!”
I transferred the gold to my main and deleted the character a few days later.
I’ve lived with this guilt for two decades. Everything unfortunate in my life I’ve attributed to the bad karma from this event. I needed to get this off my chest. The guilt has eaten me for too long.
Don’t accept random presents with a CoD on them. They’re just hammers.

He does appear in the expansion in Maldraxxus, but this is assuming that he’s somehow the main villain of the entire expansion instead of the Jailer. Given that Kel’Thuzad is one of the most iconic villains in Warcraft, how do you see him functioning in Shadowlands? What do you imagine his goals being and how would this change the expansion?

Hey all, I just got done working on the release version of my first ever addon. A week or so ago a few people were talking about really wanting this to be a feature and that gave me the kick to finally give making one a try.
Features:
Visit your class trainer once so the addon can save its ability list. Weapon skills use a built-in list and do not require a trainer visit.
Some basic support for Retail is already in progress but I haven't fully tested it yet, I'll be adding full support in the future.
You can check it out on CurseForge here, still in the process of adding it to other websites :3 I'd really love to get feedback on it!
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/gnomelevelup
AI Usage Disclaimer:
I am still very new to LUA and used AI as a training tool and to help me debug and to suggest ways to build certain functions, AI was primarily initially used to help me write and understand the functions that allow for spell book caching.
Any area of code in which AI was used I made sure to try and learn what the AI was doing and why, then quizzed myself on the functions later. A lot of it's suggestions were outright thrown out as I tried to find my own way.
I've no desire to be sneaky about this, as it stands the addon is about 80/20 my code/AI code. My goal isn't to just throw out vibe coded slop, just to get a cool addon out that was above my level of understanding at the start while learning along the way. I hope to get to a point where I do not need to fall back on it in the future
Edit:
Kind of overwhelmed with the response this has gotten so far, I thought I'd maybe get a couple downloads but we're already almost up to 400. I really appreciate all the feedback you guys have given so far. I'm going to be pushing a new update tonight that includes some of the commonly requested features/fixes a few bugs:
Edit 2:
One last update being pushed for the day with a few more requested features:
Should hopefully be live on Curse soon!

Warcraft lore is packed with Warrior archetypes, but in game every Warrior plays and looks almost the same regardless of race.
A racial archetype for every playable race, focusing on how we could distinguish them through race specific visuals (only visuals), unlockable through Glyphs, or a new customization option like a talent tree or something else. The outcome matters most, not the way of unlocking them.
Warning: because every playable race can be a warrior this will be a long list ! !!
I did my best studying wowwiki wowpedia ( I am a lore junkue) and used Ms paint for the image, but feel free to correct me.
The archetypes of warriors have many forms, from a guard, to an elite cavalry, and also special archetypes like the orcish blademaster. I have been heavily influenced by the currently available glyphs, some of them are great, but I expanded them to be more in tune with the specific race. For warriors I am changing only the abilities from the basic toolkit and class talent tree of a warrior.
This is a list combining lore and some of my ideas. Let me know if I missed some lore, or feel free to drop your own ideas. Or tell me it is a list of bllsht. For visual clarity, these customizations could be toggled off in rated PvP. Additionally players could choose to enable individual customization options rather than being forced into all of them at once.
When it comes to human warriors, there are many possibilities, but for me a human warrior is a knight, a classic Stormwind Knight. Sounds very simple, and we also have a pvp title of this sort, but a mounted knight, displaying his/her loyalty to the human kingdom of stormwind is what an archetype means to me. Anduin Lothar is a great example.
Dwarf (Mountain King)
One of the most famous warrior archetypes. Muradin Bronzebeard is the most famous one. A stony avatar and lightning everywhere.
My idea is that gnome warriors use various gnomish inventions to equalize their low stature. Some of the changes lean toward a tinker class.
I considered more than one archetype for a night elf warrior. We got the Night Warrior, an Avatar of Elunes wrath, but it is bestowed only on a few individuals and is too OP. Next are the Watchers, where the Wardens are jailors and melee damage dealers but their ability toolkit is more of a rogue. We then have Kurthalos Ravencrest and Jarod Shadowsong, two male elven warriors but without any special archetype connections. The last one is the Sentinels. A Sentinel is more to me of a hunter, like we see on the hunter hero talent, and also my previous hunter racial archetypes. But the sentinels have also warriors, mounted warriors with glaives and the blessing of Elune, named in WC3 Huntresses. The archetype is great but the name is something I have changed to serve as a warrior name and also for male and female alike. Su'ura Swiftarrow is a night elf warrior that has a huntress archetype look.
Draenei paladins and warriors can have the title of a vindicator, but this name and adding some holy light visuals will be too much similar to paladins. Also draenei warriors have NPC guards named the peacekeepers. But my concept is that of vigilants. Those are constructs with souls of great draenei warriors. And this is my speculation, that some warriors have the same battle techniques as vigilants. Using dual wielding shields, and enhancing their spirit.
The Gilneans were great warriors even before the worgen curse. We get many references to it, in game but also in cinematics, like BfA cinematic, that worgen warriors are using their rage, and also attacking with claws instead of weapons. Darius Crowley is a worgen warrior, also their king Genn Greymane.
Riftblade Maella is a former spellbreaker. The riftblades are void elf warriors. Like everything with void elves also the warriors will get visuals with void thematic.
Though the blademasters are associated mostly with the burning blade clan of orcs, the draenei have also a long history of the ways of a blademaster. Blademaster Tealamon is Lightforged Draenei Blademaster. Also I am fully aware that the Lightforged Draenei and Orcs will have the same name for their archetypes, but Lighforged Blademaster (which I considered) looks very long in my opinion.
Loyal warriors to the queen of the Dark Iron Dwarves. I imagine them as fiery stalwart protectors using magma enhanced attacks. The forgeguards are in game active during the battle for stromgarde
Kul Tirans are great sailors, so its no surprise the best warriors are marines. They use shipboard tactics and water to their advantage, the greatest one is the late Daelin Proudmoore.
Like the regular gnomes, they use their inventions to remove their stature disadvantages against the other “taller” races. Also their body mechanical parts can be augmented to become more dangerous.
Protector Yi is a representative of the Shado-Pan order called Blackguard. They are warriors that protect pandaren settlements from Mantind, Yuangol and other threats. My idea is that these warriors use special martial art movements very similar to a monk, but not the same one animations.
This is my made up concept. For the name I got inspired by the earth-warder, the name Deathwing (or Neltharion) used before he got corrupted. For abilities I made visuals that combine the physiology of a dracthyr and some black dragonflight earth abilities.
The famous earthen stormriders fly on the stormrooks to protect the isle of dornogal. They are a mix of a warrior and a shaman. But for me a better archetype of an earthen warrior is a peacekeeper. I combine some elements of the stomriders and peacekeepers together. Peacekeeper Aidda is an earthen warrior.
I didnt find any particular lore about Haranir Warriors, only the NPCs in Silvermoon, Rootway Guardians. So like anything else with haranir there are trees, roots, spores etc. For the name I made up the Ironbark, something that captures the essence of a haranir but also a heavy plated warrior. This concept is very speculative.
A tradition among the clan of the burning blade, the blademasters are well known warriors. I give them more options than other archetypes because their lore is vast. They use their fire enhanced swords and mirror images like in WC3. Some of the visual changes will seem to be weird, but bear in mind you can still swap only those that you like. Blademaster Ronakada is an orc blademaster, though the most famous one is currently Lantresor of the Blade, but he is a half orc half draenei.
Berserkers are furious warriors that willingly lack self-preservation to deal more havoc to their enemies. When it comes to troll berserkers, many of them are dire trolls, a big enhanced version of a troll. For my concept, the avatar ability can change you through a potion to a dire troll for a brief time.
Brave is a title for a Tauren warrior, the guards of the Tauren settlements. For example Brave Lightninghorn and many other braves in mulgore. My idea is also to give them some visual aspects of the WC3 Tauren chieftain hero unit.
The deadguards and dreadguards are protectors of the forsaken. These warriors also have commanders, and those are called executors. My concept is also connected to the royal apothecary society. Executor Zygand is a undead warrior.
Blood Elf (Spellbreaker)
Iconic blood elf warriors that are specialized at dealing with spellcasters. Seranel Sunlash is/was a named spellbreaker. Also we have the WC3 unit spellbreaker
Bruisers are goblin warriors that uphold the law and fair trade in goblin cities. Bruiser Janx is a goblin warrior. They use their goblin ingenuity to overcome their small size. The bruisers are paid for their job, this also shows in their ability visuals.
Much like Kalimdor Taurens braves, the Highmountain Warbraves are great warriors. I also use the Ironhorn tribe that are legendary smiths of the highmountain taurens.
Combining the warrior with a mage, thats a spellblade. Spellblade Auriel of the Nightborne is an example of this archetype. Like everything about the Nightborne also the Spellblade will have arcane magic visuals.
For the Mag’har orcs, I go with the wolf rider archetype. I know that Mag'har orcs also have blademasters, but I want to give Mag’har orcs a different archetype from regular orcs. So wolf riders, namely those of the Warsong Clan have a strong tradition among the orcs. I take some inspiration from the WC3 unit. For Mag’har orcs I found an NPC named Wolf-Rider Gaja, but also in the WoD cinematic, Gromash Hellscream appears to be a great wolf rider.
Bladeguard Kaja and many other Zandalari Bladeguards are the guards and warriors of the troll people. Like the majority of Zandalari, also the bladeguards get blessing from their Loa. This will also be present in my concept for them.
The Vulpera still have no established lore for their classes, so I made up a Dervish concept according to the Sethrakk NPC: Faithless Dervish, which are near the homeland of the Vulpera, and also that the Dervish is listed in wow as an warrior. So a Vulpera dervish could be the desert warrior, a freedom fighter that battled the Sethrak and other threats of the dunes.

Been recently getting back into my druid. And I do like making outfits, so I figured I make some for him. So after mixing some rate sets from Wod and Legion. These are what I came up with. And normally I would use staffs but i had a one handed hero mace drop so... Yeah #bestinslot
( I've also made some other color variations )

Made these bad boys again. Quite literally falling off the bone.
The baste/sauce is phenomenal, but do not follow the instructions for the slow cook, it's not hot enough to render the fat.
I did 3 hours of slow baking while basting every half hour, and then wrapped tightly in foil and cranked the oven up to gas mark 5 for a few hours.
Absolutely one of the best recipes in the book.

Before I say anything I want it to be understood that this is constructive criticism for the devs. I understand that my individual experience cannot be extrapolated to the broader player base. Having said that, I've got some feels right now. I love my guild, and raiding with the homies is a huge part of my week to week entertainment. I actively look forward to it. For the last several years we have actively raided two nights a week until damn near the end of the season. We usually take 2-3 weeks at the end for people to focus on M+ or refresh themselves for the grind that follows. We aren't very good, and that doesn't matter to us. We're a bunch of beer dads that have fun on the weekends and make as much progress as we can.
Historically we have cleared AOTC in the first month or so of the season and then progressed into mythic. This season we got AOTC this week, and the entire time felt like a slog. I'm sure there are metrics to prove or disprove how I personally feel, but to us this season was beyond enjoyably hard. We had a few die-hard players that went and got AOTC in the first week or two with pugs or other communities, but to us as a group it was rough.
Normally our next step after getting AOTC would be to start working through Mythic. We usually get 4-5 bosses down by the end of the season and then go into the next season thinking "This is going to be the one! We're going for CE." Not so much this time around. I can pinpoint a few reasons in particular why the interest in raiding has completely dried up for my guild and I think they might be helpful for the devs to understand; After all, this season came with a slew of major changes to gearing and progression so it's not unusual that some players or entire guilds might react negatively to them.
First, the gearing system this season felt awful to us. Usually on days when my guild isn't raiding there are multiple M+ groups running concurrently. That was not the case this season. After the first week or two there was no gear that was useful from M+ at all, and because of the incentive to take bonus rolls from the vault there was no reason to even fish for the few items that may be minor upgrades with slightly better stats because taking those from your vault would be a giant mistake. What had consistently been an active community outside of raid nights rapidly evaporated as people realized they could just do their t1 delves and get basically the same rewards as people who spent orders of magnitude more time farming keys. Sure, they didn't get the crests that they would have gotten from M+, but they had no use for them because they were hoarding their bonus rolls for the last 2 bosses so it didn't matter. This paradigm essentially meant that my guild was for all intents and purposes as geared as we would get for our progression at the end of week 1 because we got 3 healer trinkets to drop right out of the gate. Spending more than a month feeling "gear capped" absolutely sucks, and with hindsight I can say definitively that we made absolutely the right call. We were never stuck on a boss because we lacked the gear for it, we were stuck on bosses because of mechanics that gear would have made no difference in. I'm ending my season as an AOTC raider with an unused bonus roll and I am very confident that if you gave my guild 10 free bonus rolls each we would have cleared the raid within one week of when we did. For us, gear didn't matter. What mattered was spending 1000 wipes learning how to dodge waves, place circles, soak hula hoops, drop puddles, click boxes, and taunt adds.
Second, the rewards from heroic with bonus rolls made mythic completely redundant for us. We all took one look at this raid through the lens of RTWF and came to the conclusion that we were never going to touch the last couple bosses on mythic. Yes, I know that nobody else in the world will ever experience the RTWF version of those fights, but the psychological damage was done. Fourteen nerfs don't actually matter if some players see it on week one and think Hell, we BARELY hung on long enough to kill them on heroic... Without M+ to keep us engaged with WoW on a day-to-day basis everyone found new stuff to play. I picked up Wardogs with a couple of my buddies, some people found other MMO's, a few guys ran a bunch of Diablo, etc. All of a sudden the thought process shifted from "If we kill this boss this week I have a chance at clearing that 17 that I almost timed last week." to "If we kill this boss this week I can go back to playing that other game that I'm having fun with sooner." We got mythic gear from heroic but because of the nature of the raid and the lack of a serious M+ season there was really nothing to do with it. If I had a single piece of advice that I could give a dev it would be that bonus rolls are sweet. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Just get rid of the 13/14 items from M+ that nobody wants and add a few more chase items to M+ so there is a reason to do it. M+ scales well with difficulty and the current level of personal responsibility that people are looking for. It gives rewards from 10's when you're dog tired and can't think straight and for 21's when your kids are on a sleepover, your wife is on a work trip, and you really want to game and push IO. The raid scales like shit. Rather than 20+ difficulties to choose from when you log in, you get 2. The next point naturally follows:
The raid was too hard for us. I get it, we're bad. We have always had fun with the game and to us that's what matters. However, in the past, when we have hit a brick wall in the raid the expectation was always that we would eventually out-gear the encounter. We could rely on our handful of really good players to hold seeds for us while the dudes that had a rough week drunkenly stood in fire. This time around that wasn't the case. Making a heroic boss where you wipe to a single dude making a mistake in phase 1 is a miserable experience for players that aren't very good at the game. WoW has always been fun because it's been a game where people who aren't very good at it could still excel. I've been playing since vanilla and I can say from first hand experience that WoW was always way more fun that CoD or LoL because it was significantly more forgiving. You didn't have to be turned on 100% of the time. It was an escape from the stress of reality, not something that cranked the stress of reality up to 11.
I completely understand the appeal of incredibly difficult boss fights. In my experience there has never been a game that brought as much communal joy as what is felt when a tight-knit guild downs a tough boss, but the cathartic release of victory is defiled immediately when you know you're now 5/18 for the season. That is just too much for normal sane people to give a shit about. In previous seasons heroic raids were fun. They didn't offer much in the way of rewards aside from a few chase trinkets, but they were interesting and rewarding enough to keep us engaged for the first month or so. This season the heroic raid just wasn't fun...and the mythic version looks even worse.
At the end of our season there wasn't a single person in my guild that killed Ulatek and wanted to continue into Mythic. Every single person decided on their own that they were done. It was a huge relief to us officers when someone broke the seal and announced that they were calling it for the season because none of us wanted to play anymore either. We had all found new games. Maybe Forever will bring us back again, or maybe we'll all wake up on the next major patch day with the same fervor we had this time, but in my heart I know that won't be the case. We had a really good run. One month between now and Forever is already a long time in gamer years, and 4-5 months before the next raid in retail is basically the next ice age. Our best players will find new guilds, our worst players will find new games, all of our players will be sad that it's over.

Instead of the Scarlet Crusade being the enemies, we should've just have die-hard Banshee loyalists who stubbornly kept onto the land. Sylvanas from the Maw had given orders for them to stand down but they view it as Alliance propaganda. The Desolate Council, wanting to follow the order and prove that they're not as bad as before, worked with the Gilneas to move out and take out the Banshee Loyalists out of Gilneas.
