They could give me their insurance for free and pay me and I would still go with another insurance company because I hate their marketing.

I will never consider using this company just for the fact the commercials are so idiotic

Companies are moving to mascots to avoid paying people and not taking a risk their human spokespeople will embarrass them. Enshittification marches on.

As consistently good the Progressive “Young Homeowners Becoming their Parents” campaign is, is as consistently dogshit Liberty’s ad campaigns collectively are

I like the young homeowners well enough, but I miss the geico cavemen.
•

I always thought the cavemen ads were much better than the gecko campaigns. I know that’s been their best known mascot now for a couple of decades, but his shtick never did it for me even as a kid

It's bad, but any of them saying anything like "we're on your side" can go fuck themselves.. Their entire business model is get them, raise their rates for no reason and deny deny deny as many claims as possible. Auto, health, home, workers comp, makes no difference, they all suck ass

I’m mildly infuriated by all these goofy insurance commercials.
I never once have thought “Jeez I want my insurance company to have a sense of humor!”
If anything I want one that takes their job seriously and approves/reviews my claims properly. I would never get Liberty because of how stupid their ads are. I wouldn’t expect them to do the job correctly based off how much they don’t take themselves seriously. Same with progressive.
8
u/QuantumRepairman 1h ago
Hot take: I love the guy. It’s absurd and silly and proof they can laugh at themselves.
6
u/snuggleslut5 1h ago
The guy who has he emu is kinda hot and I don't mind looking at him. The yellow thing is weird and I could do without that. They're getting carried away with the liberty biberty thing, it wasn't really funny the first time.

Corporate shill
Nah this is a manufactured replacement to take over the real human mascot’s role
So much so that some unfeeling and psychopathic board of directors and CEO said “we could literally drop an unmoving and immobile AI yellow circle on a car and it’d be just as effective.”
“It’ll also make people upset so it gets more viral organic growth.” This is short sighted and there will be a pushback from enshitification

u/Slosher99 2h ago
Their only goal is to get their name in your head so when you're looking at insurance options, you know they are a big legit company, and might pick them over another that's fine but doesn't spend much on ads.

u/Gin4Gingers 1h ago
Not just this thing, but this whole stupid company and their ads! It's everywhere I go! I see that stupid emu on billboards. I see it on YouTube, reddit, hulu, Roku and even at work when I deliver their ads into people's mailboxes because I became a mailman instead of going to college so I can complain about seeing libbity bibbity every single waking moment of my life! It's driving me insane and I can't take it anymore! I even hear it on the radio almost everyday to and from work! I SAW THE STUPID EMU IN MY DREAMS AND HE PECKED ME TO NEAR DEATH FOR REFUSING THE INSURANCE! The worst part is that it tries too hard to be funny but it never lands. I'm in hell and the devil is a emu
