I have spent 30 minutes trying to get this remote open. How do I do this with one person.
I've tried everything. I've tried pulling both tabs in with a pair of scissors. Despite the instructions, that didn't work (presumably because it didn't match the seemingly atom-precise location). I tried prying it open with a Rube Goldberg assembly of nonsense. That didn't work. I even tried using a claw hammer to break the assembly and pry it open and that still. Didn't. Work.
I'm at my limit. This godforsaken remote has broken me. How do I get this open? I just want to change the battery.

Any suggestions to stabilize this circular base on a hacked side table?
I just put a really gorgeous slab of walnut on a 9" circle base from an old table. It's weird looking but it works for what I need except the small round metal base is unstable. The base is welded to the stem so I can't take it off.
Short of screwing the round plate to a 2x10, I don't have any ideas so I'm asking the creative hive for suggestions.

How to tighten down the top center nut on installed KYB struts?
So, I want to make sure the top center nut on my installed kyb’s are torqued down, but I’m not seeing how.
These don’t have an open top nut for the hex Allen key and I don’t see a way to hold to shaft still other than a tiny bit of flat side on the threaded part. But that’s above the nut and only about maybe a 1/16th of an inch is visible, max. I see no way to access the flat spot below the nut, either. What am I missing?
I know someone’s gonna say to ugga dugga it, but I don’t have one. And everything I’m seeing online says not to do that, so there must be another way, but dang if I can figure it out.
Somebody help me!! lol

DIY Leather Repair (Hugo was Naughty)
Our rambunctious little dog, Hugo, decided to make a treat out of our leather ottoman.
Looking for some ideas on how to minimize the impact. I can source similar leather but am a bit stuck how to make this look as best as possible. Open to all suggestions - some black duct tape was the temporary solution but it isn’t long term.
I’ve attached a pic of the damaged corner, an undamaged corner, and a photo of Hugo for dog tax.
Thanks!

How to Unclog Rug Glue from Washer
I made a very poor choice yesterday by washing a tufted rug in my frontload LG Thinq washer tower, did not know that rug glue melts in water; I have drained multiple pans of water out from the emergency drain, cleared the filter next to it, and have found an abundance of the rug glue in a sand-like consistency both in the filter and washer drum itself. How fucked am I and is there any way to save this before my apartment maintenance comes to fix it? Trying to get the water drained but it comes in a slow trickle.

Serious Answers Only Looking for video call translation tool — English ↔ other language, text or live subtitles
Need help finding something that lets me video call someone who doesn't speak or understand English. I speak English; they speak another language.
What I want:
- When I speak → my words show up as translated text/subtitles in their language
- When they speak → their words show up as translated text/subtitles in English for me
- They don't need to speak, just read the translation
- Even if full voice translation isn't available, real-time on-screen text/subtitles is fine
- Simple, easy to use — they shouldn't need complicated setup
Any apps, tools, or services that do this well? InThanks! 🙏

How to remove a stuck pipe rubber guard in this area of the pipe
We have a rubber guard thing installed in one of our drain pipes to keep insects out. However, I accidentally pushed it back inside while cleaning the area and is now stuck on the "elbow" of the pipe. Any tips on getting it out?
Edit: sorry for the bad drawing. Added a picture in the comments
Edit2: We're just calling the plumber tomorrow. Tried hooking it out but it wont budge. Thanks for the suggestions!

Serious Answers Only Can this be fixed?
I have this air filter in my workshop that I use daily, a couple of months back it started acting weird and sometimes wouldn't turn on. Replaced the batteries in the remote and nothing changed.
I contacted the company and they basically laughed at me, yeah that'll happen if the control panel gets dust in it which happens all the time. It is a budget model but his answer still pissed me off.
He said it's cheaper to buy a whole new unit than a replacement control panel, but also sometimes they work again after a good clean so I opened it up, vacuumed the dust out and then blew compressed air in there. Since then it's even more temperamental and I can't use it. Pic 2 is after cleaning.
As a general rule, I don't tinker with electronics because I don't understand it enough - except for the risks!
Should I totally remove the black control panel and get right in there to remove dust?
Is there something else I should be trying?
Or is it cooked and I need to dump it?

Drilling to run a Co2 line?
I use this Premium Lavella refrigerator for storing bottles, cans and kegs (home brew), and the kegs sometimes need carbonation and I’d like to run a Co2 line to supply that. What areas should I avoid drilling through in this top cavity down in to the fridge itself?
I imagining the 8mm line coming through the side wall of the above cavity and down into the fridge. I have grommets to aid sealing and for avoiding any metal contact to compromise the tubing. Open to any other suggestions.
Just don’t want to destroy this fridge. Any recommendations on how to would be greatly appreciated!

How to fix cracked leather car seat
The crack started as a bunch of smaller cracks but they all came together to make one big crack.
Bathroom backsplash repair
So I noticed my bath backsplash is peeling off from the wall. The crack is pretty thin so far.
I'm thinking a quick way to repair might be squeeze some glue in the crack, then use the shower rod to press it back against the wall until it cures. Then use some latex on the seam after it's done.
Is this a bad approach? Or do I need to call in the pros?
