Welcome back to Frog of the Week! Sorry for the delay... It's been a bit longer than I thought, let's get back on track. Submit a picture of your frog and its name for a chance to be featured in the next post! Will close in about 2 weeks or end of month, will decide soon!

Congratulations to Vercingetorix (r/laenxam)

With the influx of posts containing sensitive photos that should be marked as NSFW I have made new implementations. I have made it so anytime you try to post on this sub, you are met with a warning to mark your post with NSFW or to not post at all. I hope this helps with the influx of shocking frog imagery some of you are met with by accident if myself or other mods can’t get to it in time. But of course people will still disregard this message and the rules because it’s the internet. We also don’t want to block all these posts into a queue just in case there is a medical emergency. (Which should be dealt with by a vet but we still allow discussion) but some people still need that message or confirmation of “Hey you NEED to go to a vet for this” so we do not want to block that outright.
Not all of the mods are super active, I tend to be one of the top mods doing the most removal/ nsfw markings as I can to help the sub but if we miss something please report it so we can see asap! We can’t do it alone, we need your help too!
However as a moderator, and even our sub owner, there are certain things Reddit doesn’t have automations for. We would love an automated system that if a post has keywords it is automatically marked as NSFW, but that is not a possibility we can do. If you can please suggest this to Reddit themselves, it would help so many animal communities regarding sensitive posts such as these.
That being said if there are any ideas or implementations you think we should add to this subreddit let me know by commenting it below. I would love to discuss on how to make this sub a better and more fun place for everyone.
Edit:
Please also read some of my comments I’ve said on this post already as well before posting an idea, since I have replied to a few for reasons why and why can’t we do something.

This is our new pacman Kaga (My son named him) he’s a lemon yellow and this is his set up. I’ve got a blue light for heat and a UVB bulb. Temps stay around 75ish and humidity is around 60-70%
A place for soaking and I’m spraying the tank about twice a day with spring water. Plenty of depth for him to dig. I got crickets and mealworms. Feeding him with tongs. Also when I have moved him I have worn gloves.
I decided to go small with the tank for now because he’s just a bit bigger than a quarter. But I know I will need to upgrade to at least a 40 gallon breeder eventually.
Anything else I’m missing? Thanks!

There is at least 1 maybe 2 frogs hanging out in my greenhouse currently. This is zone 7 and its starting to cool down at night. I don't know what kind of frogs but one may be a Copes grey tree frog. My question is, will they leave before winter or will they possibly try to brumate in here and if so how warm do I need to keep it and what precautions should I take? Would love some advice to help my nature friends. Thanks in advance

I’ve heard a lot of feedback about needing to improve her tank, I just did a deep clean and reintroduced her clear platform now with leaves on top so she can see it. Does my tank need more? She seems pretty calm for how stressed she was. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

Idk if this needs to be NSFW, but I'm not giving photos and he doesn't appear to be sick, so here we go.
He is tiny.
I've got a Green and Gold Bellfrog, I absolutely adore him, but he's 3.5 - 3.7cm at TWO YEARS OLD. The males mature at 9 months, and females at 2 years, but I know he's a male 'cause of his toe-pads, so he should definitely be fully grown by now 😭
He should be at least 5 - 6cm. Apparently they can reach 8cm.
I don't really know what could have gone wrong other than the fact I wasn't originally aware that they needed UVB, but he has always had his food supplimented with Calcium + D3, is active and at a healthy weight, and shows no symptoms of MBD.
He's healthy and happy in all other aspects, but he's just such a little scrap and it makes me sad because I can't get him any other friends as they'd eat him.
