This week we returned not to a new circuit but one that has been blackballed for the past few years.
This old track gave us racing.

Counting WDCs retrospectively by each driver’s eventual career total, today’s podium currently stands at 11 WDCs (VER 4, ANT 0, HAM 7), with a realistic chance of reaching 12 by the end of this season.

To my knowledge, the record is 15, shared by several HAM–VET–VER podiums. The famous Senna–Prost–Schumacher podium at Spain 1993 comes to 14.

In 15-20 years, we might look back at today’s podium the same way we look at Spain '93 now and it may even hold the all-time record for combined WDCs.
