98

u/El_Zarco San Francisco Giants Sep 01 '26

Absolutely. Not to mention being a rookie and defensive replacement in that situation. Unimaginable pressure and he aced it cold

I threw a kid out on a hard liner to right field at first base in college to save my pitchers nono in the 7th. He bought me some new batting gloves a few weeks later lmao. I still love telling that story. Both of them were freaking out. Guy I hosed slammed his helmet like 4 times on the ground then threw it into the dugout. Pitcher was jumping up and down like a school girl. Good times.

I honestly can’t stop giggling at it and I will be using it as a reaction shot going forward

He legit looks like a kid on Christmas morning walking into the living room and seeing a pony with a bow on top. But with a gray beard. I never really knew he even had facial expressions.

Also unironically probably about a 10% swing in playoff odds on this play alone

Orioles blowing a game to the Rockies 1 out away from winning would have been devastating but now they're just 0.5 back of Cleveland and keep the momentum

That must be catch of the year. The longest out of the season. Had to run at a dead sprint straight backwards just to barely beat the ball to the fence. Full extension, hard impact into the wall. Clutches it to directly transform a walk off HR into a walk off robbery. In a game that the Orioles really need to keep pace in the wild card race.
