God I love sparkling defensive plays that save a no hitter or perfect game

Rusty Greer saving Rodgers perfecto.

That giants v Astros Matt Cain Perfect Game is, in my opinion, the greatest and most dominant game played by a team in baseball history. To not only throw a perfect game with 14 Ks but to also club the Astros 10-0 has got to be the best display of team baseball in history, no?

For sure, I suppose the only argument against would be degree of difficulty because the 2012 Astros were...yikes 😂

The wise one is even cooler when you remember he was subbed in purely for defense in that 9th. They are up 5-0 and the CF has played just fine, who puts in a defensive sub at that point? He owes his manager a dinner too.

If we're including non game ending catches to save no hitters

Mike Baxter

Fractured bones and dislocated a collarbone on that play to preserve the first no hitter in Mets history.
