the reason crank windows are no longer even an option is because any changes to the cockpit require extensive testing of airbags and restraint systems in order to ensure that the handle sticking out of the door doesn't interfere. it's not cost effective to have both options.

It’s not only about cost. It’s simple. Less wires, less sensors, less switches, less fuses, less parts, less… everything.

Cost wasn’t their only design factor. It was about making things simpler, with less part counts, and less things that can go wrong.
