SportsPH Appreciation post to our PH Athletes: Regardless of Political landscape, corruptions, and lack of support, you always show-up for us. 🤙🤙🤙
Just want to drop a huge appreciation post for our Filipino athletes after their campaign at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan!🔥
Despite the usual lack of proper funding, systemic corruption, and messy politics back home, our delegation delivered the country’s biggest total medal haul in six decades (29 medals): 4 Golds, 9 Silvers, and 16 Bronzes!
🥇 The Gold Standard
- Carlos Yulo made history again, snatching 2 Golds (Men’s Floor Exercise & Vault). With this, Caloy completed his career sweep across the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Championships, World Cup, SEA Games, and now the Asian Games!
- EJ Obiena defended his crown and shattered the Asian Games record in Men's Pole Vault with a 5.91m vault to become a back-to-back champion!
- Jeus Gabriel Derick Yape brought home our first-ever Asian Games Gold in Taekwondo (Mixed Individual Virtual Taekwondo), on top of grabbing a Bronze in Poomsae!
🥈 The Silver Grinds
Even though we fell just short of the 8-gold target with tough final losses, our silver medalists put up absolute war efforts:
- Jean Claude Saclag (MMA Traditional -65kg)
- Gilas Women 3x3 Basketball (dela Rosa, Ka, Espanol, Pasilang)
- Sepak Takraw Women’s Double (Sucalit, Sinogbuhan, Salon)
- Amaya Amparo Cojuangco (Archery Compound)
- Juliana Mykhail Candelaria (Taekwondo Poomsae)
- Carlo Paalam (Boxing 55kg)
- Tachiana Mangin & Kurt Barbosa (Taekwondo)
- Alexandria Enriquez (Jiu-jitsu -63kg)
🥉 Deep Squad Depth
We bagged 16 Bronzes (most since 2002!) with key podium finishes from Alex Eala (Tennis), Eldrew Yulo (Gymnastics), Albert Ian delos Santos (Weightlifting), Victoria Bossong, and John Cabang Tolentino (Athletics).
Win or lose, our athletes continue to perform at a world-class level against stacked odds. Maraming salamat sa sakripisyo at paglaban para sa bayan! Totong PUSO indeed!

PoliticsPH PCIJ: P500M proposed DPWH budget for 12 districts whose Reps didn’t back Sara’s impeachment
PCIJ: NEW DPWH FORMULA?
PCIJ reviewed the proposed 2027 Department of Public Works and Highways funding for every legislative district and found that 12 districts were each allocated exactly P500 million.
What do they have in common? Their representatives either voted against impeaching Vice President Sara Duterte or did not take part in the vote last May.
Overall, 34 of the 46 legislators who did not back the impeachment saw their districts' funding cut, putting them among the 50 lowest-funded districts for public works.
👉 Read the full story: https://pcij.org/2026/10/04/no-pork-for-romualdez-sara-supporters/
NOTE: The proposed allocation per legislative district covers all programs of the Department of Public Works and Highways. District representatives do not have discretion over all these projects.

NewsPH Pro-Duterte vlogger shot dead in Surigao del Sur – reports

ShowbizPH [THROWBACK] Ellen Adarna & Baste Duterte "Sabog na Sabog" video dropped & broke PH social media
Late February 2017, Ellen posted on Instagram showing her and Baste chilling late at night. They were slurring their words, barely holding their heads up, and Baste was holding a sleek electronic device.
Within hours, people ripped the video, and someone re-uploaded it to YouTube with the title "Ellen Adarna at Baste Duterte SABOG NA SABOG!", and it blew up overnight.
These were what people back then were saying online:
- Half the comments were like, "Tol, hindi lasing yan.
Iba yung titig ng bangag sa marijuana/shabu/cocaine."
- People were zooming in on Baste's hand instead, claiming he was holding a dry-herb vaporizer.
- r/Philippines had a field day with the sheer irony of Rodrigo Duterte's son getting caught up in a drug rumor.
Ellen Adarna posted a clarification saying it was purely
"bangag sa alak" (blackout drunk). She also had to explain that the weird device Baste was holding was just an IQOS (a Japanese heat-not-burn tobacco device), not a weed pen. She famously added:
"Alangan naman mag-post ako na ganun [illegal drugs/, eh anak pa ng Pangulo."
Baste Duterte posted a picture of himself smoking a regular cigarette with a sarcastic caption mocking the netizens: "Sige, sabihin niyo marijuana din 'to."

So we would like to donate ours to someone whose loved one might be in a similar situation but don’t have a plan or means to secure a casket.
We don’t want anyone taking advantage of this donation to gain money. I will ask for documents. We hope it helps a family to have one less thing to worry about.
We are in Cebu City.
Send me a message here. We only have a few days.

TourismPH Tourism PH’s "Meet the SEAblings" post for ASEAN 2026 promotion feels like our description was underwhelming compared to our neighbors SEAblings
Tourism Philippines (@tourismphilippines) recently posted a slide deck titled "Meet the SEAblings" to promote our hosting of the ASEAN Summit.
The slides introduce each ASEAN nation with iconic titles or global claims.
However, as the host country saved for the very last slide, the Philippines was described as:
"The Philippines is the Pearl of the Orient. We are known for having the world's longest Christmas season."
I love our Christmas traditions, but reading through all the slides expecting a strong grand finale for the host nation, ending on "longest Christmas season" felt a bit anticlimactic for an official tourism/ASEAN post.
Huli pa nila nilagay ang pilipinas, ako naman binasa lahat para exciting tapos ganon? yun na yun? Wala na bang ibang nakakaproud sa Pinas?

PoliticsPH This is the reason why they sent the research vessel. It was to analyze the undersea cables.
This is why we are having lag right now
From BNC -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has been coordinating with relevant government agencies and private telecommunications companies to determine whether a Chinese research vessel capable of cutting subsea cables had operated near critical undersea cable routes off Batanes province.
PCG spokesperson Rear Adm. Jay Tarriela said authorities were pinpointing the exact locations of subsea cables in the area and comparing them with the foreign vessel’s movements after it was spotted about 37 nautical miles off Itbayat town where it stayed for several days before being challenged by PCG personnel.
He said the effort was aimed at determining whether the Chinese research vessel Jiang Hai Ke 7 had operated near any cable infrastructure and whether its presence in the area was related to the cables.
“There are a lot of subsea cables up north that connect the Philippines and other areas. So we would like to believe that the presence of the Chinese research vessel there has something to do with it,” Tarriela said in an interview on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “At The Forefront” program on Friday.
He said the privately owned vessel had the capability to install and cut subsea cables, making its presence near the Philippines’ undersea cable infrastructure a matter of concern.
Tarriela stressed, however, that authorities still needed to establish whether the vessel’s activities brought it near any of the cable routes.
The PCG earlier deployed the BRP Teresa Magbanua after a Coast Guard aircraft detected the Chinese research vessel during a maritime domain awareness flight.
The PCG later moved to disrupt the unauthorized marine scientific research after determining that the vessel did not have the necessary authorization from the Philippine government.
Tarriela said the BRP Teresa Magbanua remained deployed in the area to ensure that the Chinese research vessel and the China Coast Guard ship accompanying it would leave the Philippine waters.
“As we speak right now, BRP Teresa Magbanua remains to be in the vicinity. We wanted to really make sure that this Chinese research vessel together with her bodyguard 2503 to leave the waters in Batanes,” he said.

PoliticsPH Loren’s lament: Ping Lacson says Legarda regrets alliance with Alan Cayetano — POLITIKO
Senator Loren Legarda apparently has a way back to the Senate majority after telling Senator Panfilo Lacson that she made a mistake in siding with the minority bloc led by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
Lacson said Saturday that Legarda had reached out to him and expressed regret over her decision, even lamenting that Senate President Pro Tempore Vicente Sotto III was no longer responding to her messages.
“Yun huling usap namin, na nagkamali raw siya. Sabi ko, kalimutan mo na yun. Tapos na yun,” Lacson said in an interview on DWIZ.
For Lacson, there are no hard feelings.
“Welcome naman namin siya na bumalik,” he said.
Legarda joined the Cayetano-led minority following the latest Senate leadership realignment but has since been on medical leave abroad due to a reported lung condition.
Lacson said he had encouraged Legarda to return to the Philippines if her health permits, although he stressed that the decision was ultimately hers.
“Kung kaya ng health niya, I would suggest na bumalik na dito. At the end of the day, sarili niyang decision yan,” he said.
His remarks come after Legarda spokesperson Tony La Viña said the senator remained open to rejoining the majority, describing shifting alliances as part of the normal political dynamics in the chamber.
A Legarda comeback could have implications beyond Senate factional politics.
Her absence has figured in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, where senator-judges voted to calculate the two-thirds threshold for conviction based on participating members rather than the full 24-member Senate.
Legarda has been on medical leave since Aug. 3.
Her absence also coincided with reports of a preliminary Ombudsman investigation involving her and her son, Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste, over allegations surrounding a multibillion-peso solar energy transaction.

ViralPH Bananachips Cale88 Commercial Video 2021
I found a promotional video for Cale88 from around 2021. The video features Sara Duterte and shows how the company processes banana chips.
One thing that stands out is that while the video presents a legitimate business operation, some people may question whether activities behind the scenes are fully transparent. For example, businesses can sometimes be used to conceal illicit financial activities, such as money laundering, although there is no evidence in this video alone to support such a claim.
That's why the DDS even so called "Ethical hackers" that are identified as DDS are probably pulling from strings here. you'll notice that he's part of that group of loud and noisy defacers.
One of them became careless and just revealed himself, kinda disappointed pero that what it is.

NewsPH Japanese semicon firm to build facility in Batangas
Japanese semicon firm to build facility in Batangas
MANILA, Philippines — A Japanese semiconductor firm is set to break ground on a manufacturing facility in Batangas as part of its expansion plan in the Philippines.
Aboitiz Economic Estates president and CEO Rafael Fernandez de Mesa told reporters the Japanese firm is holding its groundbreaking for the new facility in November.
“It’s one of the bigger global companies from Japan,” he said.
He said that the new facility would be located at the LIMA Estate in Batangas and cover 20 hectares.
The new facility will expand the Japanese firm’s footprint in the Philippines as it is already present in another industrial park in the country.
“In terms of the Philippines being an attractive destination, about 50 percent of our new locators every year are coming from our network, in our ecosystem here in the Philippines, or from other companies located in the Philippines that are expanding in our industrial estate. So, that tells you that those investors are happy with the Philippines,” De Mesa said.
He said that a foreign food company is also planning to set up a manufacturing facility covering 12 hectares at Aboitiz Economic Estates’ TARI Estate in Tarlac.
“So, we’re now working with them to go through the process of registration,” he said.
He said the food firm is expected to begin construction of the facility by early next year.
While TARI Estate’s first phase of locators are mostly in the food and beverage sector, he said the company expects the next phase of locators to be similar to the mix in LIMA Estate, which also hosts electronic and semiconductor firms.
“Given that there’s this opportunity in front of us from the Luzon Economic Corridor to Pax Silica, we’re hoping that this demand that we’ve been seeing consistently over the last 10 years will actually increase with all of these favorable developments,” De Mesa said.
He said the country must be ready not just in terms of land, but also in utilities and talent pool to support these investments.
As part of the support for interested investors, Aboitiz Economic Estates and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) signed a memorandum of understanding for the next phase of the EaseBiz program, which aims to make it easier to register with the investment promotion agency and establish operations.
Through the program, which started in 2022, Aboitiz Economic Estates was able to assist more than two dozen PEZA-registration cases, including six investors supported after the model was formalized in 2025.
For the next phase of EaseBiz, the focus will be on adapting locator-support processes to PEZA’s The One Portal System.
PEZA director general Tereso Panga said the agency has automated 80 percent of its permitting processes.
He said the aim is to achieve 100 percent automation by next year, making PEZA among the first government agencies with fully cashless and paperless transactions.
“PEZA remains committed to enhancing ease of doing business in our ecozones so that investor confidence translates into concrete projects, quality jobs and increased exports,” Panga said.
