hot take, harshly criticise me for it! If dating roles were reversed, women would fail terribly

Now, I know I’ll get downvoted, called an incel, misogynist, gay (which is funny, considering how people still use it as an insult while at the same time insisting they’re not homophobic at all), etc. And I’m telling you upfront: I won’t even react to it. If you have a different perspective and are capable of discussing it without resorting to low blows, then you’re welcome to share it.

I don’t really believe women owe me anything, I don’t want to take anyone’s rights away, and I’m not defending violence or anything like that. When it comes to dating, I don’t think it’s all about looks (even though they obviously play a big role), but honestly, when most women—especially online—talk about how you have to be an interesting, funny, intelligent person, I find it incredibly hypocritical. I think that most of them, if the roles were reversed and they had to be witty, funny, charismatic, and interesting personalities themselves, would struggle terribly. And, quite ironically, their reactions would probably be very similar to those of incels—especially the ones they are most critical.

Or has any woman who complains about how men only want sex from her ever thought about whether, perhaps, having a more interesting personality might make men more interested in something beyond her body? I honestly doubt it.

Women complaining about how the “patriarchy” and their bad experiences with men have forced them to behave badly is also quite... something.

That doesn’t, of course, mean there aren’t great or interesting women. But in general, I think many women simply aren’t as interesting as they believe they are to actually pull someone just with their personalities (despite always talking about it), and I’m sure they wouldn’t show any more introspection or self-reflection than many incels do. I even consider it funny how similar many complaints of incels and women sounds like.

hot take, harshly criticise me for it! The one sided beef that the LGBT community has with Harry Potter is honestly pretty pathetic.

I have never watched or consumed a single piece of Harry potter media in my life, matter of fact my mom banned me from doing so because she’s a Christian who thought it was demonic (lol) but seeing trans people lose their sanity every time a new piece of gaming or tv content or whatever comes out about this franchise is… pathetic.

Like, these people in 2022 went as far as doxxing people for wanting hogwarts legacy and cutting off friends for buying the game.

Truth be told even though I don’t care about HP i honestly want to get into it just to spite these people for being such ass holes.

Superman is the most overrated superhero ever imo

Post image
4 Upvotes

He is powerful no doubt, but in terms of superheros, I feel like hes treated as the golden boy, so to speak. Like in every version he is always brought up as a potential threat via (Mind control, or in the injustice games, and outright dictator. Im honestly tired of this happening because its the same thing over and over again. Yes, we get it, superman is absolutely OP, we dont need multiple instances where he goes rouge or becomes evil. I do LIKE him, but I feel like hes just this plot device to stir up some drama and plot elements.

(EDIT, TITLE SHOULD BE CHANGED TO EVIL SUPERMAN IS OVERRATED)

gender I don't think we’ve fully achieved gender equality because we still apply different standards of value to men and women.

Women are often allowed to be considered inherently valuable simply for existing as women, while men are still expected to prove their value through what they accomplish, earn, build, provide, or become.

A man can be judged by his income, career, status, competence, confidence, social skills, physical appearance, and ability to provide. Meanwhile, telling women that their worth should depend on what they accomplish is often correctly criticized as dehumanizing.

I think both ideas can coexist: women shouldn't have to earn their basic human worth, and neither should men.

If equality means equal human dignity, shouldn't we also question the expectation that men have to accumulate external value before society considers them valuable?

People are more interested in science as a personality cult or treat it as a religion than science as a method for inquiring data.

Most Cop shows are just propaganda for police

Im referring to shows like law and order, blue bloods, CSI etc. Basically any show where the hero is a tough guy cop with a gun who gets results by not playing by the rules and the cops are hypercompetent heroes.

That's not reality - cops are the heroes in some story and the villains in others- usually somewhere in between.

Being old is a poor excuse for not knowing how to do anything

Older people act like they're incapable of learning even the basics with technology and it genuinely doesn't make any sense. 9/10 times whatever they're trying to do is written out in the language they've spoken their entire lives, and yet they still seem incapable of even trying to learn something new. Using a card? The pad tell you what to do. Using a smart phone? Again it tells you what to do. They didn't change reading over the course of their lives and we've put up so many guardrails to make things as accessible as possible and they still refuse to problem solve for even a fraction of a second.

Can we take cancel culture more lightly? If they genuinely made a mistake fine but it gets to a point where the cancellation is just being sensitive

gender The gender war is a biological dead-end. The sooner we realize this, the sooner we can free ourselves of it.

This has got to be said: arguing perpetually about gender stuff, is a useless exercise in mutually ensured destruction. Both sides end up sexually frustrated, lonely and angry. Nobody wins.

Here is the critical question I have for any self prescribed MGTOW or feminist, (many of whom, are closer to mysoginists and mysandrists). It's hard to use these terms, because everyone has their own definition, and everyone insists their definition is right and just, even the most extremists of views on either side, will insist until they are blue in the face, that they are the reasonable ones.

If you are a heterosexual man or woman; what is the point of clinging to an ideology that makes you extremely hateful or critical of the opposite sex ?

Human biology hasn't changed. We still need each other sexually. The nuclear family is still the basis of all human society, and no amount of isolationist ideology can change that.

So why are we fighting each other ? Do we really want to be lonely? Do we want to die out and have an aging population of bitter lonely men and and women living separately hating each other ?

When I got married, I purposefully pulled back from many of those online communities, because I didn't want to poison my mind against my own spouse and turn myself in a bitter, lonely guy.

We've all been taught basic biology in high school. The logical conclusion of gender wars is societal collapse and extinction. We need to make love, not war. Wake up, people.

EDIT: for those hanging onto the phrase "nuclear family" I do not literally mean, 1950s man + wife and children in a white picket fence house, with nobody else in the house. I mean the fact that, human population only grows from the union of a man and a woman. That's just how human reproduction works.

Even if its an extended family or a found family household, at some point in time, a man and a woman had to have had sex for those children to exist.

casual hot take Gatekeeping culture to the max is just the woke form of ethnic separation and results in exactly what racist conservatives want - for white culture to remain the one and only standard for the general public

Talking about people who see sharing their culture as a big no and interpret everything as appropriation. This also works for POC against interracial relationships and adoptions because they assume people will always be better off "between their own". Or people who see preppy POCs as white washed. Your people can be rich, let them?? You share the exact same mentality as a racist neckbeard. You're maintaining a culture of division in the same way and speak in a way like your people should only exist in a box, the same one they've been put into by racists.

If different cultures can't be appreciated by other people and you don't want aspects of your culture seeping into casual, day to day use of the mainstream public you're fighting against a healthy, "melting pot" community. You're putting people in their limited borders. You're making the lives of the people who want your culture as invisible as possible, easier.

Adding, I'm not from the US and I'm not talking about African American culture. I'm European. This thought comes from the rise in far right support across the whole continent and how the narrative pushed is: nationalism, those who are different are the enemy. Those who don't share your culture are putting it at risk.

casual hot take SCI-FI IS BETTER THEN FANTASY!

Now I now a lot of people like Harry Potter, lord of the rings and game of thrones but what’s so exciting about swishing wands around or spending 3 movies walking yeah sounds REALLY exciting

fuck that I rather watch a movie about giant robots beating the brakes off of giant monsters. Or people getting sucked into a game to find there dad with one of the best soundtracks in movie history. or having people go back in time to fight aliens. or how about this one of ROBOTS TURNING INTO CARS!

“What about tv shows?” Oooh yeah magic “look at me I can shoot fire” cool… but you know what’s cooler SLUGS THAT GET SHOT OUT OF GUNS AND TRANSFORM.

I will give fantasy some credit tho avatar is peak and dragons are awesome so you got me beat in that regard because dragons are sick as hell

(Repost because of title typo)

serious hot take Generalizing men based on statistics about violent crime is using the exact same logic racists use to defend generalizing marginalized men

• Upvotes

I want to preface this by saying I don’t believe either one of these generalizations are necessarily valid but they are utilizing the same “a few bad apples ruin the bunch“ framework. I know that black men face overpolicing, disproportionate exonerations, disproportionate sentencing etc but those apply to all men since men are the majority of criminals.

It's as simple as it gets, if you find humor in sexism you ARE sexist, no matter what, now why did i choose misogyny specificaly? Because Misogyny is one of the most laughed at "jokes" there could be

Society doesn’t care about young women’s future

You see this all the time how “don’t ruin a young man‘s future” or “don’t ruin a guy’s life”. Why isn’t the same logic applied to girls? When guys are sharing revenge porn or spreading rumors to slut shame a girl. Or even when there’s rape involved. It seems like society doesn't care about half the population’s future.

casual hot take IVF should stay as it is right now

So i recently learned about IVF, and the miracles it can achieve. Parents with disorders being able to create a healthy child is cool, but i do not want it to progress further.

It would be insanity if IVF could allow a parent to see the look of their child, it would be horrible if a parent could discard a child only bc it looks not like they wanted. I feel like it should stay as a method to prevent disorders, not as a method to choose the look of your child

casual hot take Dating prefrences are not above judgement

People who say that we should not judge dating prefrences fail to realise that those prefrences do not exist in a void. Most of the time they are made by personal belief/sociatal expectations etc. They can be harmful due to upholding dangerous ideas and not allowing you to challenge that belief and why you think you have those prefrences

When you complain about male loneliness, you might be part of the problem

I genuinely think a lot of the discourse around “male loneliness” misses a pretty obvious point: loneliness isn’t an entitlement to women’s attention.

The men I see complaining about this the loudest are often the same “alpha” conservative types who openly resent women having standards, independence, or the ability to reject them. They talk about women as if dating is something they’re owed, while showing very little interest in actually being respectful, emotionally mature, or pleasant to be around.

Obviously not every lonely man is like this. There are plenty of genuinely decent men who are lonely for all kinds of reasons.

But if your idea of solving male loneliness is telling men that women need to lower their standards rather than telling men to build friendships, develop emotional intelligence, and treat women like human beings, you’re not solving the problem. You’re reinforcing it.

Saying misandry doesn't exist is misandry. + one more small hot take

Look. I know there's alot of media with misogyny and alot of weird stuff against women. But that doesn't give you the right to say "Misandry doesn't exist.".

Wanna hear something, something really sad? Many men, facing horrible horrible things women faced, are getting ignored by supporters like the people you call for help because...... they aren't women! People may not be as attacked as the other but that doesn't mean they aren't attacked.

In fact... here's the triple layer of chocolate drizzle, misandry is treated like a joke. YOU are the reason to why. Misandry is something that happens every day like misogyny but society has grown too comfortable agreeing with women that..... misandry is like dusting off your table.

YOU never get to hear about misandry because you don't believe it. And isn't willing to. Search it up. Search everything up.

ALSO!!!!! This is the second hot take, ummm people who do bad things should be called like bad people. Not men or women. That's the misandry and misogynistic part.

(Srry if my style of typing sounds unserious. I'm trying!!!)

casual hot take Dressing well is the most irrelevant thing when it comes to being attractive. The most important thing is looking good naked.

Thumbnail

People put way too much importance on clothes when discussing attractiveness. A good outfit can enhance someone's appearance, but it can't create genuine physical attraction.

If someone only looks attractive because their clothes are doing all the work, then the clothes are attractive not necessarily the person. Clothing should complement your appearance, not carry it.

NUCLEAR hot take Eating disorders are a first world problems that mainly affect richer countries and families.

You never see a woman in Afghanistan or South Sudan or poorer counties. It’s not an actual disease it’s all mental. The majority girls and boys that struggle with it come from richer, whiter families that have the means to have an abundance of food and good medical care. There are people in North Korea and Burundi and other countries and spoiled middle schoolers are literally wasting resources.

casual hot take Tv, media, anf social media always portray relationships as how woman should be treated with never any care for the men.

why is it that television, and general media always treat men as the stepping stone for women in life. What can they provide, what can they do, how well the treat the woman theyre with. you never see women being raised and taught about how to treat men and their husbands when their time comes to get married,

although as a man, and I can attest to this myself, you are always being forced to devote essentially your whole life to said women your with. All your earnings, all your life, all your labor, everything is supposed to be devoted to making said woman happy in your life and we are even taught this as young boys. its so aggravating that women get this treatment in life and our life as men is to just protect, serve, provide, and make sure every action you take in life is to make said woman happy.

are we not human? do we also not have wants and or needs that we would like our partner to fulfill? its honestly no wonder the marriage rate is completely tanking.

casual hot take People would rather complain about AI than figure out how to actually benefit from it.

At this point, I feel like complaining has become a hobby for some people.

We're living in a time where the average person has access to technology that can help them start a business, develop new skills, automate tedious work, improve their productivity, generate additional income, or do things that previously required hiring several people.

And somehow, a surprising number of people's first instinct is to get online and complain about it.

I see this pattern with practically everything nowadays. Find something to dislike, repeat whatever criticism is currently popular, receive validation from other people complaining about the same thing, and call it a day.

I'm not suggesting AI is flawless or that there aren't legitimate concerns surrounding it. But there's a massive difference between constructive criticism and making an entire personality out of disliking something you haven't even bothered to explore.

Imagine spending two hours arguing online about how useless AI is while someone else spends those same two hours figuring out how to use it to improve their workflow, build a product, or create an additional source of income.

That's what I find fascinating about this whole thing.

We have more accessible tools, information, and opportunities at our fingertips than practically any other generation in history, yet so much public discourse seems dedicated to finding reasons why everything sucks.

At some point, I think people need to ask themselves whether they're actually interested in improving their circumstances or whether complaining about them has simply become more comfortable.

cold take Carnivore is a terrible diet

I wouldn’t consider this a super hot take. But I know there are some carnivore elitists online too.

I’ll just state my reasonings, I think we have enough evidence to deduce that high saturated fats and red meats don’t always have the best results, specifically with heart issues / cancer. then again that is the less part I’m concerned about. Because I understand the health industry is complete horse shit and people will make up anything. I’m not god so I can’t tell you with 100% certainty that big corporations are or aren’t lying to you.

But that’s not really my main issue, I think my main issue is the diet doesn’t really do what people say it does. Which is mainly used for dieting

Supposedly “you don’t feel hunger”. When on this diet. I think that’s complete crap. You don’t feel hungry for PROTEIN. But instead you feel hungry for carbs.

People also say “it’s normal to feel like shit when on this diet”. I think if we take a step back and just listen to our bodies. Without crunching the numbers and doing all the science behind it. I think it’s very strange why a healthy diet would make you feel bad.
