Has anything changed from last season?
Yes. Pretty much everything.
After years of Bally Sports North/FanDuel Sports Network, the Minnesota Wild have a completely new local broadcast setup for the 2026/27 season.
The Wild have launched Wild+, a team-owned and operated television network that is now the official local television home of the Wild. Most importantly for cord-cutters, Prime Video is now the exclusive streaming distributor for Wild+ within the Wild's local broadcast territory.
The Wild will also continue to have a number of games exclusively televised nationally by ESPN, ABC, TNT and ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu.
So let's break down how to actually watch the Wild this year.
What channel are the Wild on this year?
- 67 regular-season games will be televised by Wild+, the Wild's new local television network.
- Wild+ games will be available through Prime Video, participating cable/satellite providers, Fubo, and select over-the-air broadcasts.
- 17 games are nationally televised:
- 2 games on ABC
- 5 games on ESPN
- 1/7 @VGK, 1/14 vs. FLA, 1/21 vs. DET, 3/7 vs. WSH, 3/25 vs. EDM
- 3 games on ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu
- 12/22 vs. LA, 1/5 @ANA, 3/9 vs. CAR
- 7 games on TNT
- 1/28 vs. SEA, 2/11 @CAR, 2/28 vs. NJ, 3/14 vs. BUF, 3/17 @COL, 3/31 @NJ, 4/4 vs. COL
How can I get access to these channels?
The first step is determining whether you are in-market or out-of-market for the Wild.
The easiest way to check is to use the Wild's ZIP-code lookup: Wild broadcast information
Wild broadcasts ARE blacked out in my area ("in-market"):
Wild+ is now the primary way to watch the Wild locally.
- Prime Video/Wild+: $19.99/month or $99.99/year and includes all 67 locally televised Wild games.
- Fubo: Wild+ is included for subscribers in the Wild's local market.
- Cable/satellite: Wild+ is available through participating providers, including Spectrum. Availability with other providers may vary.
- Over-the-air: 10 Wild+ games will also be broadcast for free on KSTP-TV. All you need is an antenna.
- Nationally televised games are NOT included with Wild+. You'll need access to ESPN/ABC, TNT or ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu depending on the game.
For most cord-cutters, Wild+ on Prime Video is probably the simplest option.
Wild broadcasts ARE NOT blacked out in my area ("out-of-market"):
ESPN is now the primary way to watch out-of-market Wild games.
- ESPN Select: Includes NHL Power Play, which carries out-of-market Wild games.
- This service is now included for free for YouTubeTV subscribers.
- NHL Center Ice: Still available through participating cable and satellite providers.
- Nationally televised games may require additional access to ESPN/ABC, TNT or ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu.
- Local blackout rules still apply, so ESPN Select/NHL Power Play won't necessarily show every Wild game.
What about the playoffs?
The playoff broadcast situation is a little different because many games are carried exclusively by national networks.
Wild+ will carry locally televised First Round playoff games. Games selected for national exclusivity will be available through the appropriate national broadcaster.
We'll update this section when the playoff schedule and broadcast assignments are announced.
What about pirating?
As a last resort, you could always "sail the high seas."
Note that it is against Reddit's content policy (and this subreddit's rules) to post links to illegal streams. Posts/comments discussing specific pirating methods will be removed and you may be banned. If you'd like to explore further I am sure you could PM some of the fine folks in this subreddit who can point you in the right direction.
What if I live outside the United States?
The answer depends on what country you live in, as NHL broadcast rights vary by market.
For most international fans, NHL.TV is now available through DAZN. NHL.TV on DAZN includes live and on-demand NHL games, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Final.
- NHL.TV on DAZN: Available in nearly 200 countries, including the UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and many other markets.
- Canada: NHL games are primarily carried by Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, Prime Video and TVA Sports, depending on the game.
- Sweden and Finland: NHL games are now available through Disney+ with ESPN, although coverage varies by game.
- Other countries may have their own local broadcast partners or blackout restrictions.
The full list of countries where NHL.TV is available, along with country-specific viewing information, can be found here:
If you're an international fan, let us know what country you're watching from in the comments. Broadcast rights vary quite a bit from country to country, so other fans in the same country may be able to help with the best option.
TL;DR
If you're in the Wild's local market:
- Wild+ on Prime Video: 67 local games for $19.99/month or $99.99/year
- KSTP/antenna: 10 free games
- Fubo/cable/satellite: Other ways to get Wild+
- National games: ESPN/ABC, TNT or ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu depending on the game
If you're out of market:
- ESPN Select/NHL Power Play: Primary option for Wild games
- NHL Center Ice: Traditional TV option
- National games: ESPN/ABC, TNT or ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu as applicable
Please provide any other tips, tricks or suggestions in the comments below.
It would especially be helpful to hear from people using Wild+ through Prime Video, Fubo, cable/satellite or an antenna.
