[Discussion] Stop the wedding!
If your fiance (blonde, tan, long blonde hair) was traveling home to the DMV area from Arizona from her bachelorette on United 1017 into Dulles (seat 28a), she spent the entire 4 hour flight talking and flirting with the man next to her. They were deep into conversation from work, to relationships, to goals and dreams. It was extremely intimate. They did not come up from air. They exchanged numbers and plan to see each other maybe this week. She did not speak fondly of you. I feel so sorry for the groom and soon to be husband. What a horrible thing to experience. Plus, what horrible plane etiquette! A disrespectful girl all around.

Yeah same! I know it’s super unlikely, but curious if there’ll be an update… 👀

u/Curiosive 2h ago
I'm wondering if OP is just bored. Maybe they've never even been on a plane and they're stirring up drama to feel a little something in life.
Whoever was in 28A on that flight might be catching stray bullets.
PS
Hold up. Tonight's United 1017 was delayed and OP posted the minute it touched down ...that would be serious dedication to a half-assed joke. Maybe, OP, maybe.

•
u/BlatantConservative expat in nova 1h ago
OP wrote up the post NEXT TO the person? Lmfao.
•
u/MidnightSlinks Petworth 1h ago
No, if she was in 28A then the man she was talking to has to have been in 28B. OP was likely in 28C.

Flight number and seat number. damn.
How embarrassing for the groom if people see this and connect it to him. His friends are going to give him shit, but just joking! No one will be happy with his decision to marry/not marry this woman now.
What a can of worms
•
u/Short-Mouse-3824 2h ago
Oh wow, I somehow totally forgot OP put the flight and seat number! Oooof, jeez, poor groom if he sees this.
•
•
u/BlatantConservative expat in nova 1h ago
Shouldn't be much of a decision if all the details are true.
•
u/NoKids__3Money 1h ago
What’s he supposed to do? He’s going to cancel his wedding based on a reddit post from a random person? How does that conversation go? “Mom, I was on Reddit while taking a dump and came across a post from ParkPuzzleheaded3355 who said my fiancé was flirting with another man so I’m calling off the wedding.”
For all we know OP could have gotten into some argument with the bride and is just trying to stir shit. Personally I think this is probably real, but the guy needs more proof than this to cancel a wedding.

Come on SOMEONE KNOWS A BRIDE WHOSE BACHELORETTE WAS IN FUCKIN ARIZONA. The burden has been passed to you. This is your mission in life and it is weighty and it will challenge you in every way imaginable. You must not fail.
•
u/teacherintraining09 2h ago
honestly? this time of year, everyfuckingbody knows a bride whose bachelorette was in arizona. if it was a game of guess who, no characters would be put down.
•
u/12InchCunt 2h ago
People travel to Arizona on purpose?
•
u/teacherintraining09 2h ago
scottsdale is inexplicably nashville for people who think they’re too good for nashville.
•
u/AzIsHotYo 2h ago
And as someone who’s lived in both long term I can tell you Nashville as a whole is much more enjoyable lol.
•
u/teacherintraining09 2h ago
well, i have a flight to one of these places this week, and it’s not scottsdale.
•
u/psuedophilosopher 1h ago
I've never been to Nashville. In fact, I'd just as well avoid the entire state of Tennessee for my entire life for a number of reasons, but even so, I'm guessing it's better than Scottsdale based purely on the fact that it's not full of the people who live in Scottsdale.

To all the people saying they’re here for the drama..
..What if OP is ACTUALLY the guy she was talking to? Maybe he kept trying to flirt but she repeatedly shut it down by bringing up her fiancé.. but that’s just left him convinced she is his soul mate and they’d be together if it just weren’t for that stupid fiancé she kept mentioning!
So he crafted a plan to use this Reddit post to trick her fiancé into calling it off so he can pick her up on the rebound?
The crafty unscrupulous bastard..
•
u/multiinstrumentalism NE DC 3h ago
I like this theory a lot. If she’s flying back on a United flight (Boeing 737-900) in seat B, she might also be harboring some resentment towards her friend group/fiancée for booking a middle seat on a direct from Arizona to DC. Either way, she gets stuck next to a guy who has money (he pops for an aisle / window, after all, albeit behind the wing). It’s basically Zedd’s The Middle but in real life
•
u/VaginaWarrior 2h ago
But then why would she give him her number?
•
u/Kermit_the_hog 2h ago
Hmm 🤔.. some other pretense perhaps?
”well you can’t blame a guy for trying.. but you know, funnily enough I am a wedding photographer!”
•
u/More-Soil7455 2h ago
He made that up. Why are people so quick to believe a random Reddit post?
•
u/VaginaWarrior 1h ago
Then he's got little to no chance of contacting her for the break up idea to work, right?
•
•
u/vman3241 4h ago
This would be terrible, but what if OP just made this up and is trying to destroy a relationship?
•
u/Consistent-Scholar39 3h ago
What if OP is the guy on the plane the fiancée was flirting with? Now, that would be really messy!

I’m pretty sure blonde bride to be stole some of OP’s legroom and now the game is on.

That's a wild assumption to draw lmao, you wouldn't let a man know about his cheating fiance right before his wedding because he presumably might be a cheater himself??

Fiancée*
•
u/l-1-l-1-l 4h ago
It's a losing battle, along with “lead” the element instead of past tense verb “led,” “free reign” instead of “free rein,” your/you’re, it’s/it’s, fiancée/fiancé/fiance, and so many more. I just take a deep breath, curse spellcheck and our K-12 education, and tell myself I’m talking to an English learner.
•
•
u/kellyzdude 3h ago
Wow, that was a fun rabbit hole: https://grammarphobia.com/blog/2021/04/lead-led.html
Thanks! That was one of those cases where I assumed (incorrectly) that both were correct depending on where you were. TIL (or.. today I was reminded?)
•
u/cakerton 3h ago
"Lead" used as past tense is the number one biggest typo I see in published novels.
•
u/AbacabLurker 3h ago

The one that I see more and more online and don’t get is “chocking” or “chocked” instead of “choking”.
•
u/ghostfacespillah 3h ago
Are/our, “alot,” “could care less,” “smth,” …there have been some new ones that make me rage.
•
u/Loveiskind89389 3h ago
I really do not think “fiancée” is a big deal. Come on now. And I’m speaking to both of you.
•
u/GodsFavoriteDegen 22m ago

Where is the “horrible plane etiquette” in this situation? Are we not allowed to talk on planes now? Not allowed to make a human connection? That’s not bad manners, it’s not a quiet car.
•
u/Rin-Tohsaka-is-hot 1h ago
Yeah the main moral of this story is still don't cheat, but I hope nobody takes away from this that talking on a plane is bad etiquette. I've had fantastic conversations on planes with the people I'm sitting next to, including a conversation that eventually led to a job offer once.
•
•
u/Technicolor_Reindeer 3h ago
Telling on yourself for all to see is a common sense no no
•
u/peopleofcostco 3h ago
So is eavesdropping on someone else’s conversation. And don’t even get me started on eavesdropping and then running to social media to try to dox somebody. Not my idea of good etiquette, not at all.
•
u/Rostifur 2h ago
It isn't eavesdropping on fucking plane, it was what you are being subjected to. The information delivered makes it even worse.
•
•
u/D_Ethan_Bones 1h ago edited 1h ago
it was what you are being subjected to.
Agreed!
>sits shoulder to shoulder with somebody else
>farts long and loud>>>>dude, were you just EAVESDROPPING on me?
Eavesdropping means espionage like hanging from or hiding under the eaves, not being in the same room as people who are making noise.
•
u/ContemplatingFolly 1h ago
There is absolutely no expectation of privacy on a plane, and everyone is packed in like sardines, so eavesdropping on a plane isn't a thing.
And yes, etiquette demands that no one should be subjected to a bunch of get-a-room-already flirting for an hour and a half.
•
u/Recent_Performer4189 2h ago
So if your partner cheats you don’t want to know? You don’t exchange phone numbers with a rando you meet on a plane to share recipes.
•
u/peopleofcostco 2h ago
Not being publicly shamed like this and not from someone who might not know or understand context (like maybe they are making a business connection or establishing a friendship. Maybe it’s a polyamorous relationship. Maybe the guy is the finance and they’re role playing. Who knows?). It is not the seatmate’s business to broadcast a stranger’s dirty laundry. So please no don’t tell me.

Shit is beyond fake. Dc sub post getting over 2k upvotes in 2 hours. And everyone’s eating this stupid shit up. Just karma farm all day about stupid bait. GTFO bot or bot equivalent.
This sub in general is astroturfed to shit. Weekly visitors are apparently 2/3 of dc’s total pop.

u/Got_Frogs 1h ago
Maybe you’re a little jealous and they were just being kind and friendly to one another? Is that a possibility?
Like did she do something that was clearly across the line? Maybe they’ll see one another with each others respective partners? Did that thought ever cross your mind? Maybe this the beginning of a wonderful friendship (that includes the groom) and your ass is destroying it?
…and maybe im the asshole and am wrong lmao
Edit: where’s the beef? Did she kiss him? Did she say she wants to fuck him? Did she suck his dick in the bathroom? Maybe you should have put in headphones and gone to sleep?

So many questions…
1- How do you know she was the bachelorette? 2- How close were you in proximity to this person to hear their entire conversation? 3- How do you know she didn’t know that man? it’s weird and rare but some couple like to roll play as strangers in public 4- How is it possible that you listened to a strangers conversation for 4 hours straight? You didn’t bring a book, headphones… anything?
