Discussion I found an authentic Earthbound at a trading post. Did I get a good deal?
I happened to come across an authentic Earthbound at a local trading post. I knew right away this would probably be my only shot at purchasing one in person so I went for it. It’s in very good condition and it works great. I talked them down to $400 so I was hoping I could receive some feedback if I paid a fair price.

Collection 10 dollar pickup from today!
Deals can still be found. You just have to drive out to the middle of absolute nowhere. I’m torn between cleaning the power instinct cartridge. The blockbuster stickers are a nostalgia bomb.
Misc. I was sorting my Super Famicom cartridges and discovered one of my copies of Super Mario Kart is counterfeit
As the title says, I discovered one of my Japanese Super Famicom cartridge copies of Super Mario Kart is counterfeit. While the shell color is the same, it does not have the same feel as an OEM shell. The same applies with the off-colored front label. The PCB is very clearly not OEM and was the dead giveaway that proved this was not an authentic Nintendo cartridge. Posting about this here as a reminder to check your cartridges if you have a feeling they might not be legit.
The Mask Restoration
I bought this game for a relatively good price and decided to restore it without getting rid of the original label. I know purists hate it, but I’m really satisfied with the result!

Voltage question
Been having the issue of black screen no audio on this snes also half the time trying to power up the screen will show large random rectangles across the whole screen if it’s not black. Tested with a known good game on a crt and a monitor with a Hyperkin adapter. I replaced the fuse and caps c63 and c64. I have an aftermarket power adapter, with that I tested the voltage at the regulator and it gives 11.4 on the input and 4.7 on the output posts with and without a cart in. Is 4.7 too little? D1 diode is also getting 11.8 volts. The “black screen isn’t like a true black it has wavy line to it moving across the monitor or slightly dark purple vertical rectangles if that is anything. Any thoughts? Ram cpu? Completely dead video caps?

Discussion My SNES is outputting a distorted picture.
There are wavy lines across the entire screen (these aren't recording artifacts, these are actually visible) and the picture is flickering.
https://youtu.be/gr5mxz_v8Yw?si=U-ZFWoZd2tZCW_UV
I've tried three different video cables, different video inputs on the TV itself, and plugging the power brick directly into the wall. For the sake of ruling everything out, I tried a PS2 and no such visual distortion happens.
What could this be? I hope it's not a failing ppu. From what I can tell, a failing ppu looks a bit different than this so I'm hopeful.
Also, if I should tag this another way please let me know.

Discussion The Super Famicom had X rated games?
I was browsing Mandarake and they are selling an X rated for the Super Famicom. I am sorta tempted to buy it but I would be really weirded out to play it around my wife. I thought Nintendo prevented this from happening?

DKC cart not working
I recently replaced a dead battery in my Donkey Kong Country SNES cart. But now, every time I play it and select a new save file, it loads this blue screen. According to elsewhere on the internet, this is a pin issue. I’ve cleaned the pins thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, but you can see some damage in the photos. Not sure how that happened. Am I screwed?
The weird thing is, the game plays fine on my SN Operator. It only loads this blue screen when I try to load a save on my console.

Rare measurement system of SFC Aging Program Test v1.00
Hi guys! So I finally managed to hack the Super Famicom Aging Program Test v1.00 with my own Pro Action Replay codes to boot into Measurement System screen, well this is unused and rare.
Pro Action Replay codes: 0083774C 008378CF 008379AE is also related CPU address $00AECF
There's also you can find more information at my GitHub, feel free to check out: https://github.com/MartinEesmaa/modgames-docs/blob/main/SNES/AGING.md
EDIT 1: For those don't know, it's test software used within Nintendo's Uji factory in Japan during manufacturing of Super Famicom. v1.00 was produced date in early 1990s before market release.

Request Bad video output! Please help!
Hi! I have a quite weird SNES, it's a NTSC one that came with a weird, European PSU. (I suspect it's a review unit of some kind)
That aside, a few years ago, it started having this issue where the R channel of the video signal would get dimmer as time passed, ending up with a blue-green game. Recreated it with photo editing

SNES graphic glitch (help troubleshooting)
I've been experiencing this issue with graphics on my SNES here. You can kind of see how the image looks sort of distorted, or "doubled" at parts, on the island.
Is this related to the 62 pin connector, or some deeper problem within the console itself? Has anyone else ever experienced this type of graphical glitch?
