Battery is a fire hazard if it’s damaged. Don’t store it indoors in case it combusts. Dispose of as hazardous waste (lithium).

So don’t try to charge it?

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

Bro your gif-game is on fucking point. I just read this whole ass thread and every reply I’m like damn he finds the perfect one every time.

•

u/PM_YER_BOOTY 3h ago

Sploosh

•

u/10eleven12 2h ago

That was rude

•

u/anarege3t 4h ago

This would've obliterated the leg press machine and emerged triumphant.

•

u/ElSatchmo 4h ago

You should clean your port and speaker/mic. They’re filthy

•

u/Betsy7Cat 3h ago

Genuine question, what’s the best way to do this without damaging it?

•

u/gmdave 3h ago

Bench press

•

u/passisgullible 3h ago

Blow into it literally with your mouth. Air can if you have. You can also use 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol, found at your local pharmacy usually.

•

u/Betsy7Cat 3h ago

Just blowing on it hasn’t really helped as some of it is too compacted for that, but maybe I’ll try for an air can. (Don’t have one on hand, but they are good to have regardless.)

•

u/Alconox 1h ago

The charge port can be gently cleaned with a wooden or plastic toothpick ( something non conductive is preferred )

For the speakers just use a little isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab with light pressure and a twisting motion

•

u/Betsy7Cat 1h ago

Okay, that makes more sense than just saying isopropyl haha. I mean I figured you wouldn’t just dump it straight on the speakers but wasn’t sure exact method; I’ll give that a go. Thankfully my charge port isn’t really an issue since my case has a cover for that, it’s only really tiny compacted crumbs in the speakers.

•

u/TheCatbus_stops_here 1h ago

Memories of blowing hard into game cartridges came to my mind suddenly while I worried over spending money to replace my powerbank. Just one hard blow into the port fixed the problem.

•

u/ders89 1h ago

Compressed air can, tweezers or theres also tiny tools with very finely sharp tips called pick and hook tools for automotive care that can get the tough lint and dirt that need persuading

•

u/_Kramerica_ 3h ago

Looks like ear wax

•

u/a_talking_face 4h ago

In the future, I would suggest not putting your phone in the leg press machine

•

u/Appropriate_Gur_5888 4h ago

Try putting it in rice usually does the trick.

•

u/plowerd 26m ago

And it makes it taste a lot better.

•

u/krak_krak 4h ago

Congrats, your lightning cables are obsolete

•

u/RickyFromVegas 4h ago

WTS - iPhone 14 pro:

Only slightly damaged, $700. I know what I got no low ballers

•

u/TheKarmaBoi 3h ago

Lightly used, no known defects, minor scratches on surface doesn’t affect viewing

•

u/DarkDuo 4h ago

I suggest calling Tim Apple and telling him what happened

•

u/Lyndon_Boner_Johnson 3h ago

It’s John Apple now.

•

u/APTAPTAPT69 4h ago

just put it in rice, it’ll fix itself

•

u/Gorbashsan 3h ago

I guess you should have skipped leg day.

•

u/Rascals-Wager 4h ago

Apple Crumble

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

That's the best one yet.

•

u/garotovs 4h ago

Put it in rice

•

u/OGWhiz 4h ago

How the fuck did you take a picture of it if your phone is broken?

•

u/Digifiend84 3h ago

Already replaced it?

•

u/whk1992 3h ago

It’s ok to have a crush in the gym.

Just ask for their number.

•

u/Straightupscrambled 4h ago

You should probably stop putting your legs in that thing if that's what it does to a phone. Not a doctor, just seems like a bad idea to me tbh

•

u/GreatGamblor 4h ago

something something "Pinch Points"??

•

u/marshalcrunch 4h ago

Best i can do is $3.50

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

•

u/marshalcrunch 3h ago

Well first I have a buddy who is an expert in destroyed phones who can take a look.

•

u/Chronox2040 3h ago

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

•

u/MasterP65 3h ago

Try putting it in a bowl of rice, that might help.

•

u/Dazd_cnfsd 3h ago

That phone case held up remarkably well.

•

u/c-3pho 2h ago

Should have skipped leg day my man.

•

u/BalladBlack 1h ago

Try putting it in rice.

•

u/Sandlotje 4h ago

Note to self: Leg press machine.... DPYDIT

•

u/mobocrat707 4h ago

It’ll buff out. Just put in a bag of uncooked rice. Then, throw the bag away and buy a new phone.

•

u/TotemRiolu 4h ago

It's still good! It's only a little airborne crushed! It's still good!

•

u/matty2013 4h ago

It’s gone

•

u/turbopro25 4h ago

Your phone is little girly man. Needs to pump up if it wants to be big and strong!

It was in my pocket and fell out

•

u/Brave-Side-8945 4h ago

"You're holding it wrong"

•

u/wesorre 4h ago

your leg press machine was hungry and wanted a bite

•

u/patrick5595 4h ago

Shoot brother, free weights aren’t out there crushing like machines

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

You're not wrong.

I'm rehabbing my meniscus and am trying to minimize factors in my lower body movements right now.

•

u/Total-Hack 3h ago

Put it in rice

•

u/preyforkevin 3h ago

Sell it on marketplace. 600$ NO LOW BALLS I NO WAT I HAEV

•

u/judgejuddhirsch 3h ago

how does the machine look?

•

u/hammertime4525 3h ago

Rock beats scissors.
Scissors beats paper.
Paper beats rock.
Leg press beats phone.

•

u/CriticalHitsHurt 3h ago

How TF did you manage this lol

•

u/hammertime4525 3h ago

It was in my pocket and fell out without me realizing. I didn't see what happened after that, but it ended under the stack of weights.

•

u/Digifiend84 3h ago

Expensive mistake. You basically just set several hundred of whatever your currency is on fire.

•

u/the1nonlyevilelmo 3h ago

Your phone went to failure.

•

u/pitchingataint 3h ago

How? You’d have to really try to damage your phone in the leg press at my gym.

•

u/hammertime4525 3h ago

Fell under the stack of one of these types

•

u/mildpandemic 3h ago

That is identical to the one at my gym. I negate the danger by not carrying my phone around with me. Far be it for me to accuse you of sitting on the machine for multiple minutes at a time doomscrolling between every set, but I do see that a lot.

•

u/hammertime4525 3h ago

Phone would have been safer in my hands than it was in my pocket.

•

u/Gr4nt 3h ago

I wonder how AppleCare would fix THIS one...

•

u/n1ckle57 3h ago

This is why I dont let my phone work out.

•

u/MudkipzAndUnicorns 3h ago

Hell yeah brother.

•

u/AtheistAustralis 3h ago

Should have skipped leg day

•

u/Sea_Boysenberry_4907 3h ago

Should buff right out.

•

u/3s0t3rica 3h ago

DIY Duo

•

u/dare978devil 3h ago

It'll buff out.

•

u/Impressive_Type_1421 3h ago

Meh, just put it in rice.

•

u/Plantron1 3h ago

I’m….no pain no gain 🫣

•

u/Plastic_Raspberry634 3h ago

Should have skipped leg day.

•

u/kankurou 3h ago

does this hurt the iPhone?

•

u/Any_Helicopter9499 3h ago

I guess sometimes you should skip leg day.

•

u/Ferowin 3h ago

Hope you’ve got Apple Care.

•

u/Ph33rDensetsu 2h ago

Relax, it's iPhone.

•

u/portabuddy2 2h ago

Is it ok.??? >.<

•

u/UpstairsMortgage3530 2h ago

Should’ve used a screen protector

•

u/go4theknees 2h ago

But does it blend?

•

u/8000RPM 2h ago

Not pro enough apparently.

•

u/1991K75S 2h ago

Unplug it for 5 minutes then plug it back in. We’ll wait.

•

u/Poorlilhobbit 2h ago

I heard if you put it in cat litter overnight it will be fine next morning

•

u/contude327 2h ago

I think it's broken.

•

u/sbingner 2h ago

Does it still work?

•

u/Aperture_TestSubject 2h ago

Stick it in some rice

•

u/zuus 2h ago

Scratches at a level 6, with deeper grooves at a level 247

•

u/boylong15 2h ago

Can you try to put some rice around it?

•

u/bald_and_nerdy 2h ago

Got one of those new foldable ones I see.

•

u/iYzk 2h ago

Show legs or false info

•

u/nemofbaby2014 2h ago

I’m hoping you disposed of this correctly after the pictures for what I’m assuming is for you phone insurance

•

u/kubadon1 1h ago

Who chewed it up?

•

u/EpiclyModest 1h ago

Funny enough if the mother board is intact you can get all the parts to rebuild it.

•

u/mistermcmanly 1h ago

My dad, bless his boomer heart, mailed me a phone of his in a similar state of destruction once, with a post-it note on it that read "can you fix this please?", and was completely serious

•

u/The_Last_W0rd 1h ago

your pants/shorts were likely too tight. source: your watch strap is too tight as well

•

u/SNKBossFight 1h ago

This is not going to make you feel any better but one time I saw a guy bring his old nokia back to life with no issues after it had spent the winter crushed underneath a caterpillar crane's treads.

•

u/Used-Gas-6525 1h ago

Bring it into a repair shop just to see what the clerk does when you calmly insist that they fix it and you're willing to pay a couple of hundred dollars cash.

•

u/anally_ExpressUrself 1h ago

If you look closely, you can see that it is damaged.

•

u/FUCKYOUINYOURFACE 1h ago

You can trade that in in any condition.

•

u/chrisboy49 1h ago

'tis but a scratch!

•

u/SirAwesome789 55m ago

Tis but a scratch!

•

u/futureformerteacher 46m ago

Put it in some rice

•

u/Takenabe 20m ago

I, too, wish to die crushed by someone's leg workout.

•

u/Dackle 16m ago

Trade In - Any Condition

•

u/Darth_Avocado 15m ago

Looks like gojo

•

u/BeerLosiphor 14m ago

Gains?

•

u/AWiseCrow 9m ago

That's rough. Any apple care?

•

u/BlazeReborn 4h ago

Have you tried putting it on rice?

•

u/QuiEgo 4h ago

Punctured phone batteries sometimes catch on fire. FYI.

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

How long do I have to wait until the risk is minimal?

•

u/Violoner 4h ago

Drop it in a bucket of water to be safe

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

I mean it can't make it worse at this point

•

u/QuiEgo 4h ago

Usually a few minutes, so you're probably fine. Just be careful not to poke the battery with all the new sharp bits in new places.

Once the battery discharges, it should be fine forever.

https://www.ifixit.com/News/69041/how-batteries-can-catch-fire-and-how-to-prevent-it

I'd frame that thing. It sucks you lost it, but it looks metal as hell. Find a silver lining in it.

•

u/hammertime4525 4h ago

I should be okay then. It's been a day. I think it's a fun little conversation piece to keep around

•

u/Cheetablaze 4h ago edited 3h ago

Hopefully it didn't spark and injure anyone. Now you have a really good reason to pickup a Samsung, trade in value is gonna be rough lol

•

u/thatguy11 2h ago

Not meant as an insult, but I wanted to get it out there.... IPhones, at least currently, do 'not' build muscles.

I like music. It fell out of my pocket.

•

u/lazy_breeze 4h ago

??? People use phones for music and for tracking weights for different exercises
