How is the new Fire Emblem?

I'm a big fan of the fire emblem games, but I will admit that I didn't like engage. I found the combat to be as engaging as ever, but the anime tropes and characters were really annoying. I liked 3H, though. My issues is that I heard the new one is heavily skewed towards the out of combat activities, particularly the social features. Is this true?

Mounts are a whole subsystem if your name is Cai.

The other characters have different things.

Kinda feeling the same on Cai’s route, I think I’m on chapter 8 or 9. Combat is so good and the supports are way better written but tracking the weekly stuff and all the side quests is getting to be a lot

The stable spam, the bad mount RNG, the information on mount growths. I'm on ch11, and I keep thinking I'm fcking up somewhere.

Managed to get Olympia on Black Magonius Caladrius, so I'm excited for that.

There's a bit of irony in the fact that Cai is the heavily tutorialized baby's first route that they expect you to do before the others and yet it easily has the most daunting management system. Of the other three the only one that is even comparable is Theodora and the comparison is not close

This was so exhausting, that I think I might just run to part 3 with Dietrich and Cai. I'll see how I feel at the end of Cai Part 1.
