I have this desire to play an RPG where you are lead to believe you are the main protagonist but it turns out a prophecy was misinterpreted. It instead applied to a minor but beloved aging character you aid in the end who ended up doing a ton in the background, unnoticed.

Like blade runner 2049

Kind of like the theory of Neville Longbottom being the chosen one instead of Harry Potter.

That would be refreshing. Kinda like the fake out in Expedition 33 where you think Gustave is the main.

Him not having a full skill tree did not ring a bell?

Second I saw that I knew that guy was going to be toast.

I figured they were going to add to it as the game progressed and he made a stronger arm or something.

Kinda sorta sounds like the plot of Oblivion.

>It is the 1990s.

>George R.R. Martin makes a name by "Subverting Expectations". There is no chosen one and everyone can just die.

>It is the 2020s.

>Game Devs are making a name for themselves by "Subverting Expectations". There is no chosen one and everyone can just die.

I crave a game we're you play as a character that dies then the game shifts onto the friend youve been hangingbout around. That way it's hits harder. Like if in cyberpunk you played as Jackie then V

Expedition 33 kinda does that.

Definitely one of the best instances of a false protagonist.

When you announce spoilers you usually should do the hiding thing

And maybe say the name of the game you’re gonna spoil before you spoil it

There are multiple games that do something like that
