It’s honestly kinda required. No one wants to play an rpg where your character isn’t involved in the main story.

Closest thing is probably some older titles in the Atelier series where you’re just some pharmacist doing some personal quest few people in-universe care about, though newer titles already have the protagonist being a world-saving special person
