Kingdom Come Deliverance studio co-founder says a lot of RPGs are 'still games for teenagers,' and that he's 'tired of all the RPGs where you are this chosen one'

I’m sorry to say, but if you want an RPG that isn’t a “chosen one”/power focussed game then you kind of have to remove certain game elements the first being combat. A significant component of RPGs is designed around the improvement in how you deal with situations, the majority being centered around combat.

I am all for RPGs that are adult in nature, and not for teenagers, but what he seems to be aiming for is more of a “life sim” than an RPG.

In the actual interview he's just shadowboxing anyway. It is not at all common for you to be some mythical chosen one. Expedition 33 was the last big game that has that, it does it in a subversive way, and before that you're really only talking about without going a decade+, and that's kind of JRPGs' thing. You don't have to be fighting some concept given material form, but you tend to be.
