Hey! I’m relatively new to Eindhoven and I’m wondering where people actually go to meet other gay people here.
Are there any LGBTQ+ bars, clubs, regular events, parties or just general hangout spots where it’s easy to meet people? l’m mainly looking to meet people around my age (21), so any recommendations would be appreciated! :)

I recently spoke with Eindhoven photographer Jan Timmer, who has been photographing the city for years.

What I found interesting is that he originally often heard people describe Eindhoven as a bit boring or not particularly beautiful. His photography almost became a response to that: showing how much difference light, perspective and timing can make.

We talked about photographing during the blue hour, the mix of old Philips architecture and new high-rise buildings, finding unusual viewpoints of familiar places, and how years of photographing Eindhoven have unintentionally created a visual archive of a city that keeps changing.

One quote that stuck with me:

“You always used to hear that Eindhoven was a bit boring and not particularly beautiful. I like showing that it actually is beautiful.”

These are 2 activities I know and enjoy but I am open to anything new as long as it’s not very expensive / physical (I practice sports at a beginner level, so still interested but at a starting level)

Is it realistic to add the insurance (3€ extra/month) for the bike as it will be always outside the house and I have a temporary lease? Ps:Not an e bike

Professionally, I've been working in the semiconductor industry and write about the sector on The Semiconductor Newsletter.

I'm looking for an existing investment club or to CREATE a new one with interested individuals who would like to start one. Many topics related to stocks, ETFs, trading with options, in sector like semiconductors, AI, technology, and analyze market trends and geopolitics.

In this club, we can present research, portfolios, strategies but also share investment ideas, challenge each other's thinking, definitely learn together.

Also, expert can be invited, for example to guide us with respect to taxation in the Netherlands (the famous box 3).

I'd prefer in-person meetings around Eindhoven, but online could work as well. Let's see how it develops.

We’ve just launched the Eindhoven Photography Challenge and we’d love to see how people in r/eindhoven look at our city.

The idea is simple: show us Eindhoven through your eyes.

Architecture, people, nightlife, technology, nature, Strijp-S, a quiet street, something typically Eindhoven or just a small everyday moment that catches your attention, there’s no single right way to photograph the city.

You can submit one photo and entries are open until 18 October. You don’t have to be a member of Eindhoven Creative Community to participate.

The photos will be judged by a four-person jury:

• Stan Kuipers – Eindhovenfluencer, vlogger and entrepreneur
• Jan Timmer – Eindhoven photographer
• Roy van der Wens – international photographer and videographer
• Cas van Laar – portrait and documentary photographer

The public also gets a say: the final result consists of 60% jury voting and 40% public voting.

And of course, there are prizes. We’re very happy to have Cameranu Eindhoven and Hope’s Pizza supporting the challenge and providing prizes for the winners.

Eindhoven Creative Community (ECC) is an informal, non-commercial community for photographers, filmmakers, designers and other creatives in and around Eindhoven. There are no membership fees and there’s no commercial agenda behind the challenge.

We regularly organise events to bring people together. and whenever we can, we also use our events and projects to support a good cause.

Also I will be going regularly to Antwerpen and for work so would be more pratical to be in an area close to the highway.

Ik ben onlangs in een tijdelijke woning getrokken (ca. 2-4 jaar wonen is nog toegestaan). De muren zijn echter echt lelijk waardoor ik ze weer normaal wit wil hebben.

Helaas ben ik hier iets te lui voor geworden na alle aanpassingen die al zijn gedaan om de woning leefbaar te maken.

Gezien dat deze woning wordt gesloopt, zie ik het niet zitten om een nette schilder in te schakelen die premium verf aansmeert en de hoofdprijs zal vragen. Het hoeft er ook niet perfect bij te staan, maar wel beter dan hoe het er nu uit ziet.

Kent er iemand een klusser in de regio die ervoor open staat om 70m2 aan muren te schilderen?

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a clean, well-maintained moped or scooter, yellow or blue plate doesn't matter. I prefer a Tomos, but other brands are welcome too. I care about build quality more than looks: good brakes, decent tires, a solid frame and a tidy engine. Ideally a tuned version that reaches 50-75 km/h, but only if the build can handle it safely.

I'm looking within about 10-15 km of Eindhoven, or further if it can be delivered. I'm fair on price for an honest, well-built bike with a known history.

Yesterday evening (1st of october) between 9.15 and 22.05 somebody crashes into my parked car at Elzentlaan. When I came back from an evening at parktheater I noticed that my left side of the car was damaged. Left side mirror is broken, scratches on the window and car. I'm going to call the companies in the street to see if they have cameras so I can use that as evidence for the police and the insurance company. But if somebody saw it happening that would also help.

I'm just very angry and sad, because this is a brand new car (just 1,5 month old) and its my first car. So if anybody saw or heard something. Please let me know.

Just happened after the DAF Museum bridge... 2 girls on a fatbike threw a stone right at my head and drove away laughing.... Immediately biked after them and told handhaving etc but they got away.

I hope I was the only person they got and I hope I will be the last as well.
