Make friends in late 20s/30s

Hello guys,

I am an introvert that does not have family here. How can I make friends in the Oshawa/Durham Region area?

I work remotely from home so the workplace is not really an option.

There are times where I feel like going out but I don't like going to places just by myself, at the same time I want to come out of my shell.

I feel like I am in isolation just being at home all the time, and it gets lonely at times. I also think I have mild depression from it.

What do you guys think?

Check out the meet up app. The Whitby board games club is very welcoming.

I was on the same boat last year as most of my friends live in Toronto and it was exhausting going there every weekend to hang out. I installed Bumble BFF (just the bff part so I was able to switch off the dating part and it would only give me options on my preferences for friends). I was able to find 2 new friends whom I still go out with for brunches and just random hang outs.

Wishing you the best. 😊

Do you play sports? Even just casually, you can join an organized league. It's a great way to meet new people

If you're an artist of any kind, you should fill out the form I recently posted to this subreddit! I'm trying to make a group of friends to support one another and achieve our goals faster. Includes field trips and outings for inspo and fun

Not saying this is it but it can help if you haven’t tried already because it worked for me. I thought I had depression and all that and then found out my vitamin d was critically low. I bumped it up and wow oh wow it helped so much.

Also you aren’t going to make friends being inside, you gotta get out there and be uncomfortable a little bit. Try an activity you like or go to meetups. Repetition of the same thing and environment helps make friends. Common interests

You are right about the vitamin d stuff. My blood work showed it was low and the doc bumped me up which significantly improved my mood. But I still want to socialize.

Card Games are fun, learn Mtg and grab a precon, there's lots of Game stores hosting commander nights. I've met a lot of people doing this

Check out a bar or club, attend repeatedly, find a girl eventually, date her and steal her friends
