They should have both gotten a ticket for being willing to cause an accident to defend right of way, existent or not, that could have easily and safely been yielded.
People are dickheads. I live in Australia and the best/craziest thing I've seen is two truckies blocking off an entire main road and punching on over a bad merge. Some guy who was running late for work got out of his BMW, runs up and cold clocked one, bashed the other and left him on the ground, then jump in one of the trucks and grind the fuck out of it down the hill while (what I assume was) his mrs followed in his car.
Two guys could have avoided floggings and one could have avoided his truck being moved a decent 5km+ walk away if they had just let one of the others merge
