The only one who knows how to merge properly is the truck, thats it.

Well yeah, that’s the whole point of the video. Considering the only two in the video that are merging are the truck (done properly) and the car (not properly, failure to yield).

I’m aware that you are implying the motorcycle is in the wrong, but they are not.

I think no one is implying the motorcyclist is wrong, they are implying their judgement is terrible. Especially considering they are on a motorcycle.

I agree, the motorcyclist could’ve handled it different but I don’t think that makes his actions wrong or shitty.

Getting aggressive with people in cages is a great way to get shot here in the states, and Florida in particular. There are lot of graves and wheelchairs filled with those who had the right of way.

Ah yes, the American way. If it risks you getting shot, you are being shitty.

involving the police and presenting it as an assault was really shitty.

Why? It’s the right thing to do when people disobey clear traffic laws and put lives at risk. The fuck?

If the police was present in that situation, the police will likely flag that car down anyway

I'm sure that stop took 30+ mins to review footage, discuss, and write tickets

How little does this guy value his time

eh, maybe she'll care a little more next time.

And if it was me, I would have just backed down as it isn't worth it. But that doesn't mean presenting it as assault was shitty, she should have done better.

It takes 2 to tango. One might have the right of way but there really aren't that many cars merging so it really wouldn't have been that big of a deal for the motorcycle to simply slow down a bit and let the aggressive driver go. Defensive driving 101. None of these dash cam drivers on this sub practice defensive driving and get themselves in shitty situations with aggressive drivers. And while one driver is clearly most at fault and wrong, the other driver eggs it on. Like why would the motorcycle intentionally drive parallel to the car for that long. You can see at 0 seconds the merge isn't even close and he cuts a large part of the video out, he's driving right next to the car the whole time. It just takes 1 person with common sense to slow down or speed up. And then he goes and cries to the police after putting himself in that situation. He had all the opportunity in the world to simply get out of the way.

It does not take 2 to fail to yield while merging. I agree, the motorcyclist could’ve been more defensive for their own safety but they certainly didn’t do anything wrong or shitty.

I don't think you understand what defensive driving is. This isn't one of those tight merges where you're stuck behind cars and everyone has to follow the rules. There was no one around. He didn't do anything wrong but he definitely is a shitty driver.

Got it. We can just break the law as long as people let us. I’m writing this down.

You’re literally saying the biker should have done exactly what they ended up doing. What am I missing here?

u/LVRaiders2026 11h ago

If someone is about to run you over with a car do you stay put knowing you're not doing anything wrong and you have the right to stand there or do you jump out of the way?

It's true that it's not illegal to have shitty behavior on the road.

5

u/Accidental_dwnvote 12h ago

What are you referring to by shitty behaviour?

2

u/Linuxologue 12h ago

Like seeing the situation unfold very predictably and do absolutely nothing about it then posting online for thumb ups.

3

u/Accidental_dwnvote 12h ago

The motorcyclist did exactly what they should’ve done.

2

u/Linuxologue 12h ago

they saw it coming, they let it unfold, threw insults, alerted the police and misrepresented it as an assault.

As said above, she made a mistake, she is at fault. He could have made everyone's day better but decided he will make everyone's day much worse. It's within his rights to do so, as you explained.

u/some_random_noob 12h ago

Stop blaming the victim

3

u/Comfortable_Edge_448 12h ago

Misrepresented?
No. That is the definition of reckless driving

3

u/SuspiciousCat4446 12h ago

She did not “make a mistake”, she blatantly disregarded the safety and simply just the presence of another motorist on the road. Then acknowledged that she both does not understand the rules of driving, and does not care that she could have hurt or killed the other motorist.

On top of that, even genuine mistakes are not immune from repercussions if they violate the laws of driving.

And lastly, I’d probably verbally insult the person who just almost physically insulted my ability to live, and chastising this person for swearing more than chastising the car driver for being a danger to those around her is a fucking wild take that is also wrong.

Happy cake day.
