I can't tell if the trend is to rage bait us or JK, but its certainly working on me.

I got lost on why trans people hate girl Malfoy; isn't it the best way to annoy JKR?

Unpopular as FUCK opinion here but the hate is completely irrational and I assume only exists because some people find it cringe and- rather than outwardly saying "this is cringe" because that can easily be ignored on account of preference- will write entire essays about how a fan-made AU is somehow bending the laws of reality to support J.K. Rowling throwing trans people into a wood chipper.

I mean, I hated Harry potter even before knowing JKR was a bigot cuz after reading all of it, I started realising it was kinda lacking in worldbuilding. However, the hate to versions of Harry Potter is kinda weird. I do get that (if, in this case, its admittedly paying the copyright), it's harmful, but projects like this usually brush it off as "loose inspiration", or "easter eggs", or whatever.

Even if it's referencing the original work, Rowling gets nothing out of it. "But what if people see girl Malfoy and decide to watch the new critically-panned remakes that everyone already hates??" Is the usual response I hear but that is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
