Questions Is my chihuahua a mix?
Was told he was a 2 month old , long haired, full chihuahua puppy but we're uncertain

Oh my what a cutie pie, what’s his name and age? They remind me so much of my soul chi, he was mostly short hair but black and white too.

Can relate to “soul chi”… 🥹 This is Micah. He’s getting older so I continually watch him like a hawk and pray over him if he’s under the weather. I’ve had him for ten years.

Omigoodness… 🥹 I know you gave him a beautiful life. I like to think the ones we’ve lost are still around somehow.

You may want to check the Molera, this is on the top of the dome. All chi’s have this. As they age, the plates of the skull grow together. When that young the plates are still growing. Some close entirely, while some will have a small soft spot where the dome did not completely close. During this time the pup is vulnerable to head injury. I’ve seen it happen. You should be able to feel the soft spot. Molera or fontanelle, same thing. I mention this just so you are aware… 😊

They look like full! Just like a perfect lil apple head long haired Chihuahua puppy... Very very cute. If they aren't full they are definitely mixed!

Adorable puppy, I rescued mine as a puppy but 3 months old & he was tiny but bigger ears than this. Best dogs ever! 🥰🙏🏻🩷🐾

That pup is not two months old! Is the pup eating solid food? It should be with its mama until at least 2 lbs. yes at least some part chi long coat but very young. What is this pup missing? The learning curve, while in the litter they learn how to play, how hard can they bite, and how hard not to bite. I would be surprised if this pup is 6 weeks old…! Still too young for its first shots.

My parents full breed chi (with pedigree papers), is not even 2lbs, and she is 11 weeks 🤷🏼♀️

There will always be outliers with anything that is measured. It’s why we have a “Shaq” and “4’5 “ lil people. It is not the norm. A chi familiar vet will tell you the pup should stay with the litter until it reaches 3 months or 2 lbs.

When I got one of my Chis he was 8 weeks and weighed 13 ounces. He was a bruiser but totally healthy!

Any reputable breeder would not let a chi be released from the litter until 2 lbs or 12 weeks of age. Of course those are AKC standards. Not all follow those standards.

Pretty much impossible to tell this young but you can do an embark DNA test!

Looks like a chihuahua to me. The snout is a little wide and the legs are thicker but it could be all that beautiful hair. Either way this is a beautiful dog. Some full bred Chis look strange anyway. You can get a DNA test but either way that beautiful pooch is a keeper!!❤️🤗😊✅
