I think this series should be fine with Smoltz as the color, but that was definitely such a homer call. But for the most part, Joe has been good about being impartial.

Does he really? Doesn't he have a Braves cap on his HOF plaque? I guess he doesn't really get to make that decision. Why???

He doesn't really, it just feels like he tries so hard to be impartial that he's often overly critical of the Braves. He's been more of a fan before when he's appeared on our home broadcasts once or twice.

Greg McElroy will do that when calling Alabama games. Some ex players will try almost too hard to be critical of their home team especially national broadcasters. Some will let their bias fly though, cough cough Votto.

I grew up my whole life a Braves fan. When he started calling games it took me so off guard how much it felt/ feels like he has a grudge of some sort against the Braves. I don't know why, but i see it.
