It's a public park, it's a very well known public park. This lady is just a massive asshole.

Source: I also proposed in this park.

She's also a massive racist.

u/throwthisawayred2 13h ago

Or is she just pissed about unregistered events at parks? I don't agree with the racism, but I do agree with people using public parks and telling people not to get in their shots (which I've experienced just chilling on the lawn, like hey i was here first).

Learn to support your local public parks

5

u/Independent-Wheel886 10h ago

The public part means mind your own business. You can Karen all you want at private property.

-7

u/throwthisawayred2 9h ago

Yeah I am. So yall motherfuckers can't kick me or anybody else off the public park lawn to take fancy pictures. THAT'S Karen behavior. :)

1

u/G_mork 2h ago

Who did they kick out to take their pictures, Karen?

10

u/astro_viri 11h ago

How do you know it's unregistered?

2

u/tyrified 10h ago

Telling that is what the immediately assumed

-4

u/throwthisawayred2 10h ago

or because when i ask, that's what they tell me. think of that?

3

u/Independent-Wheel886 6h ago

I think they just want you to go away and mind your business. They don’t answer to you. Self appointed hall monitors are the worst.

0

u/throwthisawayred2 3h ago

I think I just want to enjoy my park. They don't get to tell me to go away so they can have the space all to themselves for pictures. :)

1

u/_teach_me_your_ways_ 2h ago

No one enjoys the park when you’re there, ironically

1

u/astro_viri 2h ago

It's not your park, though.

u/Wooden_Cicada8880 10h ago

Most public parks you can book for private events. You going to kick little jimmy and his birthday party out of the pavilion because you were there first despite his mom booking it for the day?

-4

u/throwthisawayred2 9h ago

You're missing the point: most people DON'T book it. So they're not supporting their public parks. Less bookings -> less usage in the data -> less funding.

Libs are so fucking dumb istg

4

u/AlmostLucy 7h ago

But how do you know this specific group didn’t book the area?? They booked the band and the photographer, clearly they’re well-prepared at planning. Like why are you tearing off at people on a vague assumption?

2

u/Wooden_Cicada8880 4h ago
  1. I didn’t bring politics into it, but you shit heads are the ones afraid of cities, so how do you even know how community works?

  2. Nobody is shutting down their local popular park because no one is not booking it. Once again, you’d know that if you weren’t so god damn scared of the cities!

-1

u/throwthisawayred2 3h ago

I live in one of the largest cities in the US lmao but go off

48

u/Intelligent-Box-3798 16h ago

I would go to this park every day for the rest of my life just to spite her

There’s a famous pedestrian bridge in my town where people regularly do proposals, wedding/engagement photos, graduation photos, or even professional headshots. It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I see people making a core memory or celebrating a life milestone. It is their right to be there just as much as it is mine. That’s the beauty of shared public spaces.

u/Glittering-Cost-3660 5h ago

Go back to wherever you came from! /s

People really are just miserable huh… 🤦‍♂️

u/idiot-alpha 8h ago

Public parks usually have use restrictions.

-42

u/GrumpyScroogy 16h ago edited 16h ago

She is an asshole about it, but i 100% do understand it being annoying as hell if you live next to it. You dont want to hear a wedding taking place every fucking weekend next to your house.

For all the upset people: Yes she was an asshole about it, but something being public doesnt give you freedom of laws and rules. Be civilised in public. Hosting events without permits is not being civilised.

41

u/shlomo_baggins 16h ago

Yeaaaah tough shit for her. She chose to live in an incredibly busy area with lots of foot traffic.  Weddings/events dont actually take place every weekend in that park.  Comes with living on a cliff overlooking the Pacific ocean.

Also, its a public park,  so EXTRA tough shit.

-35

u/GrumpyScroogy 16h ago

As i said i 100% agree, but being in a public park doesnt mean you can be as loud as you want. And i have a feeling all those weddings taking place there ignore that rule. There is a sound limit in public places for a reason. But yeah, girl picked the worst way to adress it. (She is probably burned out / stressed from it).

Almost as if truth is in the middle as always

26

u/shlomo_baggins 16h ago

Oki. By all means keep empathizing with the racist while coming up with theoreticals.

-32

u/GrumpyScroogy 16h ago

Okie. By all means, formulate your entire opinion and truth based on a single video snippet. A snippet where OP decided what to show.... Naive af.

10

u/Dashizz6357 14h ago

Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing?

3

u/Pillow_hair 11h ago

I live near a school and work from home. Most the afternoon I hear children screaming and being loud. It used to annoy until I changed my perspective. Man recess was so fun when I was a kid. They are out there playing with their friends, releasing stress from being inside, and having the best part of their day. I bought noise cancelling headphones for when I really need to concentrate or the screaming might get to be too much. There are ways we can adapt in this world and not cause these moments to take up negative space on our minds.

17

u/buerglermeister 16h ago

Then don’t move to the PUBLIC park

-5

u/GrumpyScroogy 16h ago

Being in a PUBLIC PARK doesnt give you the right to be as loud as possible and do anything you want.

There is a reason why you cant have sex in public

There is a reason why you cant have a BBQ in most parks

There is a reason why you cant yell 24/7 non stop in most public spaces without getting tracked down by (local) enforcement). Guess what happens during a wedding?

Can you image people just hosting a wedding whereever they want? Something being public doesnt mean it has no laws or rules and you can do fuck-what-ever you want in there.

If i lived next to a park and people started hosting events every weekend without permits i also would be pissed. That is why she probably snapped. Not because of this one time.

22

u/undertales_bitch 15h ago

This isn't a wedding though? Or especially loud? It's a proposal. It takes an hour to set up, half an hour of being set up, and an hour to take down. It takes up about as much space as a family picnic, and not much more time

21

u/Aggressive_Manner111 15h ago

Sex isn’t allowed in public of public indecency…. Not noise

BBQ is more fire danger and is up to the city since the BBQ itself isn’t noisy

Yelling 24/7 would go against noise ordinance which are normally after dark.

This entire video is about a proposal with the sun up and an angry lady who needed to let her dog shit without picking it up. (Also not noisy but normally illegal).

All of your points do not make sense in this context.

11

u/Competitive_Tea1987 15h ago

bro, these people are not being "as loud as possible and doing anything [they] want" lol. no one is having sex. This isn't a long bbq. no one is yelling 24/7. and you keep saying people are hosting weddings here--this is a proposal! it lasts 2 minutes lol.

You are making up a bunch of hypotheticals then telling people stop making up hypotheticals.

anyone buying a home home next to a public park knows it is public, aka anyone can come and yes, they can even picnic. If someone is getting this worked up about what's happening in this video just because it's nearby to their home, it means it's time for them to sell their house to someone who will not be so bothered.

9

u/buerglermeister 15h ago

It’s a proposal my guy, not a wedding. Your nickname is accurate.

2

u/Pillow_hair 11h ago

I kinda disagree. The public parks are for public entertainment. There are people who work for parks and recreation to create programs for public engagement. We have concerts, movies, and festival events for kids most weekends throughout the good weather months. I get overstimulated by loud noise so I can understand the annoyance at loud noises but I also know I can go by moose cancelong headphones or listen to a book on tape.

1

u/GrumpyScroogy 10h ago

Yes, having organised events at a park is fine. Having other people random do it themselves day in day out is annoying. There is a reason why its organised....

3

u/Pillow_hair 9h ago

But it's public. I get it being annoying and sometimes you want peace and quiet. I'm sure a mariachi band doesn't play there every weekend.

1

u/shlomo_baggins 9h ago

It doesnt...BUT theres a great Mexican restaurant a couple blocks over that might :D

16

u/johnd5926 15h ago

No one in this video is hosting a wedding. That’s a wedding PROPOSAL. It’ll be done and cleaned up in like ten minutes. You’re really stretching to make it seem like a bigger deal than it is.

-5

u/GrumpyScroogy 15h ago

Now image this happens multiple times per day / week.

People like you lack empathy and can only view the situation how its presented. Owww only 10 minutes, not that bad. Yet cant understand this sums up to hours weekly for people living there.

19

u/johnd5926 15h ago

Wedding proposals? In a public park? The audacity!

11

u/markjay6 15h ago

You are commenting on something you know nothing about. That park is not close enough to homes for people to hear anything where they live. And it is not an area filled with noise. A 5 minute mariachi song once a week that will only be heard by people walking by is not a problem. I walk there a lot and most people walking by would be very happy to hear a bit of nice music during their afternoon stroll.

8

u/Smooth_Rocket_ 15h ago

Your defending the "go back to Mexico!" lady and claiming we lack empathy. Ok Bud.

5

u/Independent-Wheel886 12h ago

I decline your request to imagine things that didn’t happen.

1

u/GrumpyScroogy 10h ago

What is there to imagine? Women in video literally says its happening every week. I didnt use the the word "imagine" as in "lets make stuff up". I used it as in "step inside here experience".

As said before, you lack empathy. Cant understand how other people experience stuff. Think about how your mental health / mindfullness would be when you never can relax a day because random people are blasting weddings in your local park.

1

u/Independent-Wheel886 9h ago

Move.

1

u/GrumpyScroogy 9h ago

You & the goalpost? Yes 100% you are moving it.

1

u/Independent-Wheel886 6h ago

wtf are you talking about? You are the one that hates living next to the park. Move. There are people who want to live next to the park and you are talking up their spot. Go find a spot where you can’t hear the park.

1

u/johnd5926 9h ago

Weird that you’re still complaining about weddings in a park on a video with a marriage proposal, which is not at all the same thing. Who the fuck is I able to relax because there are proposals happening in a park? I live near several public parks, and see proposals and people taking wedding photos all the time. It’s never even occurred to me to be upset about it.

1

u/GrumpyScroogy 9h ago

Living near a park and HEARING THE PARK are 2 different things. You guys all want to act naive on purpose here. Noise pollution, hello?

1

u/Independent-Wheel886 6h ago

Leave. Live somewhere else.

2

u/Ok_Stick_661 13h ago

Imagine the lady walking her dog is actually a serial killer scouting for victims and this park is her hunting ground. Why are you defending a serial killer?

6

u/markjay6 15h ago

Though wedding photos are common, music there is rare, and the park is far away from any housing that the music is not bothering anybody in their homes. This woman is simply being a racist.

5

u/Youseenmycones 14h ago

Listen bud, if you want to dedicate your life to policing permitting at a public park that you chose to live next to then go nuts. Just remember that no one will like you because of it.

8

u/Competitive-Tax4103 16h ago

Well since it’s allowed to be checked out if you don’t like it you don’t need to buy a house there, same with people buying houses on golf courses and then getting mad about shanked balls, the course didnt appear out of no where
