Another way to think about this is from the perspective of meeting new people. You are a woman and meet a man for the first time. If he's a normal well adjusted person without violent jmpulses who understand you're a human being with independent thoughts and feelings then he's no threat to you. But if he's not... And none of those quality are visible when you meet people. It can take literal years to determine if a man is going to hurt you or somebody else. And even after years... Well we've all seen headlines about nobody suspecting that the guy who was just arrested had three people chained up in his basement he seemed so normal...
To your last point, in the Cornell case that started this most recent online firestorm, the reason that girl was even at the frat house was because she was there to hang out with her friend who she trusted. And after getting her high on ketamine, he was the one who texted the group chat inviting the other guys to come rape her.
This was her friend, someone she thought she could trust. As with most cases, rape and trafficking almost always comes from a man the woman personally knows, not a stranger.
Bullshit. She did the drugs willingly and all the sex. She LITERALLY said so numerous times. She even wanted to go back to another party they were going to have.
What rape victim want to go back for 'seconds'. Some of the guys said she was even agressive and started doing sexual things to them.
But we all know women never lies or kill their babies right. They are angles that have zero accountability.
She should be charged with false accusations and face charges.
Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she gets to ruin people's lives because SHE cannot stand to have some accountability for her own actions.
I am sick of this crap.
Women have proven themselves via Lindsey Clancy and Cornell 7 and more how untrustworthy and deranged they can be.
So if that's the case, why did she go to the police at the time? Surely if she had so much fun she'd have nothing to report?
Also - for the record - doing drugs and having sex (even a threesome!) does not mean you're automatically consenting to a multi hour gang rape that begins after you're already intoxicated.
I fully understand that perspeczive, but in online discourse this understanding massively changed form "be careful, every man could be a rapist" to "every man is a rapist, until proven otherwise and evdn then he could still rape you"
So it isnt "innocent until guilty" but "guilty until innocent, and even then still guilty"
This could be said about anyone you meet. A man, woman or non binary individual. People that are crazy but are able to hide it are dangerous to everyone because they aren’t gonna attack you when you expect it. Thankfully most people who are bad people let you know pretty quickly through their attitude towards others, the way they talk about people they don’t like, and their actions. Most bad people aren’t Dexter or Bundy. They are the racist uncle or a criminal or some easily discernible evil thing.
All of that isn’t to say that women shouldn’t be cautious of random men. You absolutely should be because a high enough percent of the population of people are bad people.
I can’t tell if this you’re being /s or /srs with this comment. But I have always found that double standard super unfair where it’s just “don’t go walking out at night” “don’t go to bars” “don’t go to parties” “don’t drink” “don’t be alone with men” “don’t be intoxicated” because women are expected to live every single one of their moments in life in extreme paranoia and barred from basic activities while the abusers doing the harm get to keep the spaces they made unsafe to themselves
