I think it's because this type of phrase and logic is easily used in the exact same way to speak negatively about racial minorities or other groups and is usually viewed negatively.
The thing is that saying "everyone can agree on this" is sadly a way of thinking that does not work, and will not work on people who are constantly bitching about the "it's all men".
No they will not agree, because they do not understand either the concept of patriarchy or even sexism. If you go up to anyone's face and out of the blue you call them a rapist and murderer, they will be upset: now, we know it is not out of the blue, because we understand what it means, but this people don't.
As these people do not understand the concept of patriarchy, or the axis of gendered violence and how it works, they do not understand what "it's all men" mean and they won't simply agree. If you explain to some of these people how it works, they may understand, and then agree.
Of course, you could say "why would I explain someone so simple to a sexist?", and that would be an acceptable way of thinking. But if you really want to make a change, take your time explaining things, slow, with sources. "It's simple so they will agree" does not work, because they do not see the world the same way we do.
Because they're intentionally provoking people to drive engagement. If everyone agreed that it's not all men but could be any man, nothing more would need to be said, and the conversation would die. This way it keeps the discussion going. It's disingenuous and provocative by design.
It’s not rage bait. You’re just using tiktok lingo to brush this complex issue over. It’s all contextual. If 1 in 3 men in the world (almost 1 billion) experienced SA from women, I would have to be an idiot to not understand them lamenting ‘always a woman, women this women that’. If I say I hate politicians, I don’t have sensitive people from all over the place telling me ‘not aaaalll politicians’.
I won’t say all men, I won’t say too many men, I’ll say MEN. Bc in a womans case, it’s always a man. Any non-lazy intellectual brain understands. The difference between you feel persecuted for allegations not even thrown at you and we ARE persecuted for actual cases dismissed on the daily.
Your politician analogy doesn’t make any sense because half of the population aren’t born politicians.
Is this kind of content really progress, does it really change anybody’s minds? I think it’s more likely the only thing idiots like OP are doing is confirming whatever biases idiots in the comments already had. Thank you for your service, brave king
Half of the population isn’t man. A lot are boys below 12. So even when you lessen that 4 billion male population by excusing the innocent boys, it makes the statistics worse. Cause of 1 in 3 women/girls experienced SA (of ghe reported cases atleast) then that’s around 800 million victims. It conversly means 800 million men. If there were 800 million guaranteed thieves, you would also be wary anyone around the corner, at work, at home, could be a potential thief.
And since I have to do the thinking in your place: politicians are in positions of power. Men are physically stronger which is why rape can even take place: a position of power abused. Not that difficult to figure yourself. Thank you for your disservice, lazy mind.
Why wouldn’t anyone get into it? The more truth the merrier. Acting like men don’t commit most crimes, wars, SA, etc etc. Even at the expense of other men, not just women & children. Quit mansplaining & acting mysterious. Pull up objective numbers with extensive context and nuance. This is reddit not some insta comment section. You can add more info if you have any.
Because that’s the exact same tactic racists use against black people in America. Are you wary of black people for committing a disproportional amount of crimes compared to their population? Of course not, but that’s the truth. See how your “you would be wary of all men too” scenario kinda falls apart if you think about it that way?
You're making the assumption that its 1 man for every 1 woman who is SA'd. Way more likely that its a small number of men assaulting a large number of women.
Ur being illogical saying I made that assumption when I did not articulate that. I literally said 1 in 3 women. That means it’s likely 1 in 3 men committing such atrocities. OF the reported cases. U fail to include gang SA. It’s a large number of men assaulting a large number of women. How is mathematical equation that difficult. Are you American? It’s a large number of thieves stealing from a large amount of victims.
I'll give an example so you can understand. Say 1/3 stores have been robbed. Does that mean 1/3 people have robbed a store? No obviously not. There are a small number of people doing all the robbing. In the same way a small number of men are doing the SA.
You keep throwing in insults because your argument makes no sense. Its really frustrating.
Another point: if it’s 1 man for every 1 woman, the statistics would be 100%. Aka all women and all girls ever eventually report every boy & man.
This is more your ignorant math problem than your malice. So I’m taking that into account & excusing that.
What you are doing is called sexism. You are blaming the entire group that is men for the fault of a small number of perpetrators. I can agree that most men don't stand up around sexist jokes but when you say "all men" are to blame then why are you surprised when men who are allies are upset at you?
Where the hell did u go so wrong to imagine I wrote ‘all men’ when I clearly said (2nd paragraph) I’ll say ‘MEN’. Always a man. Bruh you‘re literally informing my point. How the hell is literacy this bad?
Women are difficult. Not saying all women or too many women, but women. Theyre too difficult and if you feel persecuted for that then its on you as a woman for dismissing our lived experience.
See how bad that sounds? Thats not okay and neither is whatever you're doing.

Its not all men but it could be any man.
