The message itself has always been called out for repeatedly needing an explanation for people to realise theyâre actually in support of it.
If the phrase constantly produces this level of misunderstanding, maybe the message needs to be tuned or changed so people can immediately understand what itâs trying to say instead of producing another gender war in the comments that helps no one and takes away from the underlying message.
Well not all men obviously. I'm talking about the abusers, the rapists, those who harm women. No not you Timmy. Why are you even upset, if you aren't one of the men I'm even talking about.
This shit harms protecting women. The terms are obvious and known at face value. You can't say "all x are y, but some of the x aren't who we're talking about"
It's a contradiction in terms that provides ammunition to men who want to play "more aggrieved and more logical". They'll take a screenshot and talk amongst themselves about the other side dealing in absolutes and insulting innocent men.
So many people who label themselves as progressives have the worst fucking messaging and are so far up on their high horse they absolutely refuse to accept any other point of view. I'm a progressive but its constantly this same stupid shit. Overcorrecting trying to do the "right" thing while actively harming the cause they claim to support. Literally just instilling to young men they are viewed as predators because of their genders. Women absolutely have it more difficult than men, but its not a competition, and I'm so tired of self righteous dickheads who just want to yell about how they're right and you're a scumbag piece of shit if you disagree when they dont give a fuck about making the world better. they just want to act morally superior without putting in any work or effort to change anything.
Iâve been on the planet too long and imo, Iâve never seen so many men enter the conversation until this dumbed down phrase âitâs all menâ arrived.
The vast majority seem to be entering the conversation to make it all about themselves. How itâs âoffensive towards menâ.
But, a portion are staying on the topic long enough to clue in. More and more are using their platform to promote it. Which is bringing in more men.
I have never seen this many men and boys join in. So, the short term âdivideâ with what they perceive as offensive language, is what will end up making some of these men stew with it long enough to finally let it sink in.
Men would keep ignoring it if they thought it was just about violence against women and girls. I think itâs been working out quite brilliantly. Definitely a big dramatic divide, but many more men are clueing in for sure! There will always be bad ones. But with all the good ones on the topic helping out, women and girls will at least have more allies than when these guys stayed silent or unaware of the topic.
Message is a message. Sometimes the message accurately reflects reality. If simple truths are that bothersome, that just indicates mental immaturity on the homo âsapiensâ ginormous ego.
Why do you men alwaysâwithout a doubtâbring up mens suffering in response to women's? Is it some sort of power imbalance you feel? Or do you think that we are just unaware that sexual assault and rape happens to men to and can also be the result of a woman? No, you don't think we're that stupid. We all did see Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein act together. You think we are just stupid enough that you think we can't see what you're doing when you do this. Clear as day whataboutism, using sad and traumatic statistics to one up other sad and traumatic statistics all for.. what? To downplay women's suffering? To soothe your ego? To put responsibility elsewhere? Its wholly unclear.
I'd imagine its because people are saying all men are rapists... just a guess though. That statement probably makes a lot of people, who are in fact not rapists, to get a little defensive
Did you watch the video at all? Like did you not watch the video we are currently commenting on? The video explains what women mean when they say All Men. Watch the video and then reply to me when youâve seen it to the end please. Iâd like to know your opinion.
Itâs not that they get angry at that, they get angry when you guys bring it up during a conversation about women being sexually assaulted. For example, if women are talking about how they get sexually assaulted or theyâre talking about the men who do it, thereâs always at least one guy who is like âoh yeah? We get assaulted too ya knowâ and itâs like, time and place dude. They care that men are abused but you shouldnât bring it up in a conversation that isnât about that in a way that tries to detract from what women go through.
Yes, and itâs dangerous. Death by fragile male ego or to prop it up is definitely a thing. I think most people just donât realize that a great many femicides can be directly attributed just to a manâs ego being the core motivational factor.
Whether itâs a total stranger turning his advances down so he kills her, the mistress, girlfriend or wife becomes pregnant and he canât have that become public knowledge, the family annihilators, husband wants a new life, the serial killers or the thrill killers who hunt and target exclusively women to feel powerful. The rapists and their sexual motivated murders. The stranger stalker who becomes obsessed, sometimes everyone in the house gets murdered too. The collectors who keep them confined and captive for years chained in basements, wood boxes under the bed, or secret bunkers at the cabin and they finally wear out and die from years of abuse and torture. Those are all true case examples btw. The abuser who after years finally âgoes too farâ and killed her, or the ones that flip out kill when she finally decides to leave him. The man who discovered his wife is cheating and murders her about it instead of just filling for divorce. The mommy issues murders, sons who finally snap and kill their mother and hell, sometimes the entire family. Sometimes to stall or cover up other crime theyâve been up to. Just this past week as seen on court TV, heâs cheating, has a mistress whoâs pushing him into killing his wife so they can be together instead of just filling for divorce like a normal person. Because divorce would make him look bad and he canât have that, do he does it. Blames random intruder. I can literally pull up at minimum, two cases for each of the scenarios listed above just off the top of my head. Some cases with same circumstances I can come up with dozens.
Maybe the men in the comment section crying ânot all menâ are blissfully unaware of the horrors endured by women from men? Or they just like ego driven killers Mark Dorch, Dennis Rader, Scott Peterson, Travis Decker, Chris Watts, Grant Amato, Brendan Banfield, Leonard Lake, Gary Heidnik, Ted Bundy, Brian Walshe, Frank Byers, Nicholas Hubbard, Jole Guy Jr, Alex Murdaugh, and most recently Caleb Flynn, they just canât handle having people think less of them then the need to be seen as.
What you're implying? Rapist? That's the problem. Y'all don't want to change minds, you want conflict and adversity. Go for it, but don't act like it's "so hard for men to understand" when that's your strategy.
If that's what you took away from this video then I don't know what to tell you. This is an incredibly bad faith reading of someone trying to explain a known systemic problem.Â
This has nothing to do with racism wtf. At the least discrimination. But when discrimination holds true in statistics, is it discrimination or is it systemic? When itâs systemic, it becomes a social problem.
I saw this question asked so many times, it is the same thing as asking to a black person "Someone said something negative about black people, if doesn't apply to you then why are you offended?"
Why are people offended when someone talk badly about a group they belong to, I wonder, why? Is that really a hard thing to understand?
It's actually more akin to someone bashing serial killers and then someone getting suspiciously offended. Weird ass nerds love using Black People to try to make a point, probably because they see others as objects and lack empathy.
While I generally agree with your point, this is a really poor comparison. You only become a serial killer by committing horrible crimes. So why should anyone else feel offended? But you dont get a say in whether you are born as a man or a woman or which skin colour you have.
Could you explain how using another group to make a point has anything to do with "because they see others as objects and lack empathy" ? I am sure you won't be able to show that in any way, lol. What a crazy take
Your messages shows everything but someone who cares about nuances and complexity. You are not on this side bud. Summarizing the problem to something extreme (serial killers) is doing exactly that: missing the point and the nuances, and framing the problem as something black and white.
The guy in the video literally explains system dynamics and youâre using a bad example. Itâs more akin to when comments or jokes are made about white people, white woman, âKarenâs etc. Iâm a white woman and have never taken offence cause I understand the context
I understand what he means, I still know it is contreproductive because this is how human functions. Sure, you don't take offense. Most people do. Do we want to convince most people or a few individuals?
I am saying that humans are offended when you talk about a group they belong in a negative way, you have many studies about it. If I want to talk to men about problems, the last thing I would do is to make them feel offended, because I actually care about thing working and being heard. I think it is easy to get.
The difference is you're now placing a marginalized group at the center of conversation as the victimized group. Men aren't marginalized until race, sexuality, etc is included.
Youâre missing the point of the comparison. Itâs not saying men and Black people have the same social position (this was never the topic, I am unsure why you are bringing it). Itâs saying people can be offended by a negative generalization about a group they belong to, even when it doesnât describe them personally.
I took black people as an example, but you can take most humans groups, it works the same.
All black people are thieves and rapists until no black people are thieves and rapists.
Jeez why would you find that offensive if you aren't a rapist really please explain it to me I genuinely cannot possibly understand how anybody who isn't a rapist could find that offensive its going way over my head here way too complex for me please help me understand with small words and crayons
Well a sexist joke is fine, as by definition of joke. Same with domestic violence, as long as it is indeed a joke. I think he meant to say sexist comment, or domestic violence comment, but he didn't. He grouped this in with people stalking 18 year olds..... That's not even remotely close to the same.
I like darker humor, I will continue to make sexist jokes. domestic violence joke? Nah, I don't even see how you could make one.
Also just saying, most sexist jokes against women I hear from women. I personally don't use the word bitch to describe women, men all the time, but I know my best friend(female) calls women bitches on the daily.
